"...reverse engineering their own product." I've always wondered and actually hoped there would be some adequate record keeping with automobile or any sort of manufacturers. There are countless reasons to keep schematics/blueprints tucked away for future references. They better not be burning the documents after the final copy leaves the assembly line. Besides, engineers worked hard on those. Seeing projects like this take off is always great, even more when the proceeds of buying the finished car go to a good cause. :) Owning a 2G Eclipse is great, even though mine has the crummy 420A engine which _never should've been considered_ as an option for these cars but mine's bottle fed to keep up with contemporary (road rage infused) traffic if (rarely) driving daylight hours. Should've been 4G63 or 4G64 only. Besides the aftermarket parts for this model, the most difficult OEM thing to find is the back hatch privacy cover. People just thought to pull them out and toss them for ... reasons. I've seen **one** car for sale (recently) which is all stock and is fully intact even with that cover. It felt like finding a unicorn.
