Ha, I do love me a crappie magnet. I think I did a couple times that trip unsuccessfully. I used a lot of different baits, but only really caught anything off three. Thanks for checking it out.

That's awesome, you have any luck? It's a real nice river to wade fish in that section, I enjoyed it a lot. It's about a 2 hour drive for me to get there, otherwise I'd go far more often.

Ha, that's always a good time to catch one on a free lure. I usually lose a few though along the way, so I don't know how "free" it ends up really being.

Of course! It generally depends on a couple different factors, but the easiest way is based off how strong the water is moving and how fast you want the bait to fall. Generally speaking, you can fish just about anywhere with a 1/16th or 1/32 oz jig head. I prefer the 1/32 oz with 2.5 inch baits and below, and 1/16th oz with anything in the 3 inch range. I'm in Pennsylvania. This is a local creek, and its a pretty decent one for small mouth. Doesn't always produce the biggest small mouth, but the bite is usually pretty good.
