The ONLY rig I appreciate more deeply is the 2006-2007 Ford GT. It's a shame that the only people who can afford a Pantera are wealthy buyers, when the pricing of this car was originally intended to appeal to the "regular folks." There are so many folks who love these cars, but cannot begin to hope to own one.

I love your story, especially the comment about how modern cars are telling us what to do and a Pantera is the other way around. Myself, I half jokingly say that I don't have a smart phone I have a stupid phone for the same sort of reason. LOL Or that, when it comes to cars, just because you know how to turn the wheel, and step on the gas and the brake, does not mean you know how to drive. I had a 1964, very much like this one, blue. 1979 trip, Seattle to Fairbanks Alaska and then returning the starter went out. (Fortunately the truck came with a hand crank handle behind the seat.) I made it to "White horse Datsun". The manager came outside and looked at my truck, asked this: "What kind of truck is that?" I knew then that he would NOT have a starter for it.

69 Mustang Mach 1 is by far one of the top 6 BEST LOOKING MUSCLE cars of all time. The design of it exterior and interior is decades ahead of its time, never mind for 69. Right up there with 69 Charger R/T , 69 Camaro Z-28, 70 GTX, 70 Chevelle SS and of course CUDA
