I just cut old rope, attach new rope and pull it through .. no need to climb anything

This looks suicidal. Why not just tie new rope to the old rope with electrical tape and just pull it through. it would be a lot safer than this way.

Sometimes you have to consider if the juice is worth the squeeze.
