Simple Rhythms 2 Week Challenge (Final)
Просмотров 8810 месяцев назад
So here is the progression after two weeks.. more talking than playing but that’s because I can only semi-successfully play the first rhythm of the challenge. Admittedly I missed 3 days but every day I did play it was at least for an hour if not more. So I would honestly estimate in two weeks I have played for around 13-15 hours. That time was not only on practicing the challenge but during tha...

Finally did the hike up to Kleine Mythen this year. A sure foot is a must! Great views and easily done if you are comfortable with exposed steep terrain and a bit of scrambling. A fall however would be pretty disastrous if you decided to go unroped.

    Your problem of the strings becoming looser as you add more strings reminds me of how guitar strings will need to be tuned in multiple passes, because tightening one string alleviates some of the force on the other strings, meaning that they become looser. As someone who has never made a tree net, but who has tightened guitar strings, I would say that it is normal that the initial strings become loose as you add more.

    • @XoshBitt
      @XoshBitt 7 дней назад

      @@haydenhoes Good comparison… and I think you are right. So… maybe I should contemplate how to be able to “tune” the first string again. 🙂

  • @scuzzjumper
    @scuzzjumper 7 дней назад

    Yep, my RUclips algorithm made a good selection here! Distributed tension is your objective so you want your second ties to go directly to the black line as far away from the anchors as possible at about the midpoint of the black line between anchors and then work back towards them. Hope this helps!

    • @XoshBitt
      @XoshBitt 7 дней назад

      @@scuzzjumper Thanks for the comment and help! I’ve actually started another “test net” since shooting this video and did exactly as you have suggested. The new one I am making is a triangle. I ran my first strings from an anchor into the middle of one of the opposite perimeter sides. This pulled in a lot and then I halved the distance and did it again. Confusing to explain but it is basically what you said. As I have gone a bit more with the weaving the center (the first lines) have still gotten a bit loose but it’s better than before. I am thinking that maybe I should tie off my first lines so that I can untie them and tighten them as I work. We shall see how things progress… but that’s the fun in testing/learning. Thanks again for the help!

    Compare what you did in the first video to what you are able to do in the second video. That is a dramatic improvement in skills. Congratulations 🎉 What did you learn about how to learn by doing this task?

      Thanks! I’m happy with the progress. I think the biggest lesson I’ve learned from instruments in general is that the process of progress comes the more committed you are not to a particular outcome but rather to the enjoyment of practicing itself.

      @XoshBitt 10 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the encouragement! When I sent this video I didn’t know how to toot.. but watched more videos on how to do it and in my practice I have been working at it. I can toot okay now but it is not stable.. meaning I can’t always get the tone whenever I want. I was actually practicing when you wrote this comment. Haha.. talk about feeling like I have a personal teacher. 🙂 I tried doing the toot with CB… whoa… I am really bad. 😆 When I am doing tadawa doom dum..I breath after the last „dum“. Breathing after tadawa feels strange to me at the moment. Maybe I will do a „mid-homework“ video this Sunday showing one week of progress. I’m enjoying the exercise.

  • @XoshBitt
    @XoshBitt 12 лет назад

    Yeah man.. just longer exposures. I shot most of the images with my Nikon and not the GoPro. The GoPro is terrible in low light and it would be impossible to get the night shots with any type of clarity.
