I played a couple of paladins in DnD 3.5, Pathfinder 1e and DnD 4th multiclassing a little bit with Fighter for the extra feats and this guide give me excellent insight on how to optimize some mechanics... Specially for feats I didn't knew they existed... Now I'm building a setting for a Evil Aligned Campaing and the main antagonist is Lionel Talbot "Exemplar of Justice" which is a Human Paladin created with many of the mechanics of this guide... I will really enjoy intimidating PCs as Lionel smites them with his Sunblade haha... Great content man, I'm also watching other guides and videos from your channel... Sometimes building or creating a setting / campaing is quite a lot but things like this make it a little easier and much more enjoyable...

Heya, Just FYI you've misread the *Inspired* weapon property. Normally it costs 2 Inspiration points (IP) to add Inspiration to an attack roll. If you have either an Inspired weapon OR with the Combat Inspiration talent it only costs 1 IP to add Inspiration to your attack roll. If you have an Inspired weapon AND the Combat Inspiration talent you still have to spend IP to get Inspiration to your attack roll, but now you also get double your Inspiration roll to your DAMAGE roll - that's the Damage roll, not the Attack roll. So you still only get 1d6 (or 1d8 or whatever) to your attack roll, but now you also add to your damage as well. That's actually better in my opinion. Normally attack bonuses are worth a lot more than damage bonuses, but the Investigator is one of the most accurate classes in the game already, and we're talking about attack rolls where you're already adding Inspiration to your attack rolls. Doubling that Inspiration for the attack roll is probably overkill most of the time, but adding a big chunk of damage to that extra-accurate attack is a very nice bonus that will basically always be useful. This is yet another reason why I love the Half-Elf for their FCB. At level 9 (when you can first get Combat Inspiration) you could have 1d8+2 for Inspiration, which means this would add ~6.5 to your attack roll and ~13 to your damage. At level 13 with Tenacious Inspiration as well it's 2d8 pick the highest and add 3, which is ~+8.8 to your attack roll and ~+17.6 to your damage roll. That's a big chunk of extra damage. And that's on top of the +6/+6 from Studied Combat at this level. Just add Inspiration to your last attack for the round and make it a Studied Strike and you've got a -5 BAB attack that's getting +~14.8 to hit and +~41.1 damage. And we haven't even touched on feats, Extracts or any other gear yet.

At our table we have a rule...if you have the book you can play it...with that our pf1e campaigns had a lot of dnd 3.5 aspects. We had tons of 3.5 books when the pf1e core books came out there wasn't much to go off at the time. Dnd Player's Handbook 2 page 71 had 2 feats i had used in my alchemist build which are: General Feat- Grenadier. +1 to att and damage w/splash weapons. Tactical Feats - Mad alchemist. Give you access to three maneuvers. The Grenadier Feat and Splash Weapon Mastery Feat you mentioned 16:00 would work off each other amazing. The Mad Alchemist Feat is more suited for a low-level campaign, I think, and would go another way since you don't get many feats. Thank you for the content 🙏

Hi Jordan, I should have made this comment a while ago. Extracts have some weird rules around them that make some spells better as extracts, and some worse. The first rule is that Extracts act like potions, so understanding the potion rules is important. Potions have to be touch spells, and have to target people. The target is automatically the drinker. This means that spells that target objects can't actually be made into potions (or extracts). There are actually a number of spells on the Alchemist/Investigator formula list that CANNOT be made into extracts. The reason for this is that the Alchemist can use Wands/Staves of spells on their Formula list, but unfortunately Investigators can't. The devs have talked about this, it was intentional. The other thing is that spells that target multiple people also don't work with potions (or Extracts). There actually are some options in the game that allow you tonshare them (items, possibly some feats or something), but by default you can't caste Haste on a group. There are also benefits to having a spell be a potion. The main one is that drinking a potion is always a standard action, which means spells like Enlarge Person (usually a 1-round casting time) is quicker to "cast" in potion form. In fact even drawing and drinking a potion is still quicker than a 1-round casting time, as 1-round means tou continue casting until the beginning of your next turn, which means the spell can be interrupted. Extracts also have 3 major benefits which make them better than potions. The first is that using an Extract is always a syandard action. This INCLUDES the act of drawing the Extract, which saves tou a move action, or saves you walking around with a potion in your offhand to drink at the beginning of combats. The second benefit is that Extracts can be up to 6th level spells. Potions are limited to 3rd level spells, so obviously Extracts can be better. Finally, Extracts can be made using "Personal" ranged spells. There are some very powerful Personal buffs in this gsme which are normally gated behind playing a caster or investing fairly heavily into UMD. With the Infusion discovery you can hand a Personal buff to the Fighter or Barbarian with no need for them to have any UMD or casting ability. Even low level spells like True Strike are usually unavailable to Martial classes, but an Investigator can just hand them out for the Martial to use at any time that day. Or you can use spells like Monstrous Physique 2 and turn the Barbarian into a 4 armed Gargoyle - a large, flying creature with 6 Natural Attacks (all at full-BAB) at level 10, once again something Barbarians can't usually do, and even Bloodragers can't do until level 13. So this means that Alchemists and Investigators can hand out buffs that no one else can (Monstrous Physique), or can use/give some buffs with a reduced casting time (Enlarge Person), but some of the best group buffs in the game are best left to an actual spell-caster (Haste) so that they can affect the whole party.

Hi Jordan, some thoughts. Greater False Life (GFL) is bad. It's not that the spell itself isn't useful, it just isn't worth a 4th level spell slot. Comparing it to False Life (FL), which is a2nd level extract that would have almost the same effect, this is a MUCH more valuable spellslot. It's benefit is less than that of two FL extracts. Would you rather use two 2nd level extracts or one 4th level extract? At 10th level (when you get GFL) it's not even twice as good, it's only +10 from level for either FL or GFL, which means FL is giving 1d10+10 (~15.5) HP, and GFL is 2d10+10 (~21*). Is an extra ~5.5HP worth your highest level extract at level 10? I don't think so. When you get to 20th level you might decide it's better, now GFL is actually giving twice the HP of FL. Even then the opportunity cost is losing a 4th level extract vs losing two 2nd level extracts, so you have to ahve enough high level slots for this to be worthwhile. Now you likely have ~seven 2nd level extracts and ~six 4th level extracts by this point, so using one or two of your 4th level extracts to get ~31 bonus HP is reasonable, but the point that it becomes reasonable is (in my mind) a lot closer to level 20 than to level 10. I likely wouldn't start using this spell at all until level 16 (when I get access to 6th level slots), possibly not for another level or 2 after that because it's still one of your most valuable slots. At level 20 I think it's worth it, but at level 10 (when you get it) I absolutely don't.

Both Keen and Mighty Charge specify that their effects do not stack for the purposes of critical threat range. When you're making a magic weapon for a cavalier, its important to know that a +1 enhancement is +3 damage on a hit PLUS a bonus to hit. Variable damage doesn't get multiplied on a charge except for the weapon's damage die, and since the Cavalier is likely only making one attack on a charge, the bonus to hit is important too. When you factor in that a +1 enhancement bonus not only does a flat rate equivalent to the avg d6 roll in a cavalier's hands, but that it also increases your chances to hit, there's few enchantments worth losing the +1 bonus to.

You should do a herald caller build. I’ve been reading about them and it seems interesting class

I don't believe I've ever seen the Herald Caller archtype. That looks like a lot of fun with fantastic flavor! Good lookin' out!

Now I know it’s controversial whether having an “evil race” in fantasy is ok or not. However I don’t mind them not being inherently evil. I like the ideas you’ve come up with so far. Plus regardless of the topic in a political standpoint, I think most writers just get bored and say, hey maybe I can use this thing make it difficult (orc). I often like the mad scientist angle were orcs are human super soldiers. Oooh or orcs and humans are actually related but idk maybe most orcs were trapped in a realm only to come back and see humans, the results of the remaining orcs having children with elves. Now it would be a guess a species thing. Like how weird, terrifying and kinda cool would it be if Neanderthals and sapiens existed at the same time. Like looking at your ancestors. Again so many cool things while keeping them badass.

Regarding curing poisons using Extracts - You can't give Extracts to other people by default, and neither can Alchemists. However there is an Alchemist Discovery called "Infusion" which lets you create Extracts that can be shared, but won't expire at the end of the day (which could *potentially* be a problem if someone steals your extracts and doesn't drink them, because then you don't get your spell slot back, but I've never seen that happen). Investigators can access some Alchemist Discoveries by taking the Investigator Talent "Alchemist Discivery". So it's kind-of a Talent-tax, and don't get Talents until level 3, so for lower levels that cure poison thing could be good. Enjoying the videos, keep it up =)
