Dyno Day for My Cam, Bolt-Ons C5 Corvette!! What Will It Make??

In today's video I get my C5 Corvette dyno tuned. Overall, the car made pretty much exactly what I was hoping it would. Definitely a lot of exciting things to come with this car, so stay tuned. For reference, list of significant, power increasing performance mods: BTR Stage 3 NA Cam Headers & X-Pipe Stock 862 Heads AFE Intake

Corvette DOWN!! Balancer Walk = Cam Time!!
Просмотров 2813 года назад
Well, my Corvette has already encountered balancer walk. It came significantly far off the crankshaft, but thankfully stayed on. With that being said, the car will now be getting some significant modifications. Along with the headers I already planned to install, it will be getting a BTR stage 3 cam (whole kit), BTR shaft mount rockers, morel lifters, ls2 timing chain, new oil pump, a Summit Ra...
680WHP 8000RPM NA C6 Z06 - Idle, Acceleration, Burnout
Просмотров 36 тыс.3 года назад
Just a quick little video montage of a C6 Corvette Z06. This car is making 680whp out of a naturally aspirated, ~14.5:1 LS7, revving to 8000 , making 680whp, and almost 900 at the wheels on a "150" shot. All pulls in the video are not on the sauce.
5 Reasons You May NOT Want to Buy a C5 Corvette!!
Просмотров 11 тыс.3 года назад
in this video I discuss five reasons why you may not want to purchase a C5 Corvette. While the C5 is one of the most budget friendly cars on the used market, it has its drawbacks. Issues like these could be deal breakers depending on your expectations as a potential buyer. My list goes as follows: 1) Interior quality 2) Interior noise 3) Road noise 4) Headlight output 5) Corvette tax
2004 C5 Chevy Corvette Review - A Performance Bargain!!

Make sure to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE and be on the lookout for future videos! In this video I review the 2004 Commemorative Edition C5 Corvette. Other than the special cosmetic features of this special package, the rest of the review, including the car's performance, should cover the C5 ('97-'04) generation as a whole. In my opinion, you can't get much more performance for your money in these modern...
Does this thing still run or has it needed a rebuild since this video?
Any more construction updates? really like to see the interior as you finish it. I was looking at this exact plan before I say you post it up on reddit.
Yes, I'll try to get a video up shortly. Drywall is now done
Is 17 k good for one right now? 80k miles
@@Waynetempleton I don't think so. Seems a bit high
@@voguishcars7150 how abt 14k
@@Waynetempleton seems decent to me, but I don't know the market these days
Do you know what throttle body was on it?
Congrats on getting married! Ive been patiently waiting for you to drop a update. Ive currently been working with architect on very similar plans, about to enter the finalization part. We actually based it off these ones you used. Unfortunately in NY gotta have a official stamped set from architect. We basically got rid of the office and made the master bath bigger and made the garage 2' longer. Couple questions: What sizes did you go on garage doors? Do you think ceiling height in garage at 18' is too high? Did you consider building it in a "pole barn " style framing? Also looks like that HVAC duct is awful close to windows, no? Any major things you would have done different? Looking forward to the next update.
@@Dmo528 garage doors are 16'x14' and 10'x14'. 18' is tall in the garage, I'm at 17', so I'm assuming you are going taller so you're ceilings are a little taller in the living space? I would maybe just make better use of it and put at least a small lofted area in the garage, although that can be done down the road. I did post frame, but with my counties codes, this was easier. And yes, the duct is close to the windows. When I frame them in I will have to use smaller trim on the top side of the window. That part is what it is. I do think I would have changed the master suite as well. I wish our shower was a little bit bigger. Other than that, just the mistakes and hiccups we could have avoided that I mentioned in the video. Should be doing another video soon. The insulation is pretty much done, I just need to finish up a couple spots and then do a little bit of framing work so that the area under the stairs can be used for storage. Then it will be time for drywall.
@@voguishcars7150 also one other thing i wanted to ask you. Im as well planning on the 8’ covered porch. Does it significantly block the sun coming in lower windows?
@@Dmo528 I'd say so. The only ones that get any direct light are my east facing windows, for obvious reasons lol
that ending made me nausea
Hittin 140mph on backroads is real nice. Good ol' fun with the boys. Don't tell no buddy
Fan cooler water charger
What size tubing, and spread on radiant?
Update please!
Will be posting one shortly! It's a slow process when you and your "contractor" only work on it on the weekends, but I should have another update after this weekend!
@@voguishcars7150 sounds good I’m about to build the same thing. I think I want to make the garage just a bit bigger. Just cleared all the trees past few weeks
@@voguishcars7150 whats the widths on garage doors 14' & 10' ?
I just picked up my 48th Corvette. I have been buying and restoring them for over 53 years. I have had all generations and like the C5 the best. Easy to mod and work on and lots of aftermarket accessories available. This new one is a Magnetic Red/Light Oak 2004 Convertible with only 1475 miles. Bought from the original owner who was a GM executive and had the car factory stored and maintained from new. The C5 is just a sexy and beautiful design in form and function.
🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love this corvette I come back to it every day
Good numbers 20+ year old car that shows you how good the ls1 is. And the car only weighs 3200 . Good job
For sure!
I know the camera guys thoughts lol. She rowdy keep her shiny side up
Spend the extra money sound proofing the master, trust the word of a kid who grew up directly above their parents room.
14.5 wow
This is the exactly same build I was looking at. I'm in Ohio as well. It would be great if I could ask you a few questions. Do you have Facebook
I just bought the LeMans edition C5 coupe. I love everything about it. 47,000 miles. I was shocked about all the mods you can buy for these cars. I Absolutely love this thing.
I came across your RUclips channel and was impressed by the quality of your videos. They're beautifully crafted. However, I noticed that your channel could benefit from optimization and video SEO to effectively reach your target audience. Without this, your videos may not gain the traction they deserve, even with consistent uploads. Would you be interested in discussing how to improve this?
How come, in a video review about a car, is almost the entire review a video picturing the reviewer and not the car??? You know, you can do a video of THE CAR while you talk about the car, nobody comes to watch these videos to see the reviewer, unless they are weird, they want to see THE CAR!!!
Very Nice Building. What state are you in? Are you subbing out yourself or are you having a contractor do all of that? Would love to hear all the steps and hurdles you faced along the way. Maybe things you would have done differently. I'm subbed and looking forward to watching your progress. Best of luck!
I'm in Ohio. I'm the GC, subbing out the work, but helping where I can. I was thinking about making a video talking about these topics. Maybe I should!
Rough cost to build? This is the style i am looking for
Can't say for sure at the moment, but likely around $300,000, which is pretty good considering what $300,000 new construction will get you from a builder around here. Appraisal for final value came in at mid 400s when it's all said and done. Decent return I'd say
how much labor did you do yourself vs paying a contractor? @@voguishcars7150
What’s the outside dimensions, and house square feet? Good job looks great
70' x 40' and ~2450 sq ft of living space
I like the floor plan, but you didn't build a pole barn and modify that into a barndominium, that's conventional stick framing you have there. I'm amazed at the stud length and the centers you put them on. The purpose of using pole barn posts is to save on materials and cost, and have less thermal bridging through so many wooden studs. You built a stick framed house and made it appear to be a pole barn/ barndominium. Nice job it looks good.
It's still a barndominium I think, but definitely not a pole barn. You really don't save on building materials once you have to put up an entire studded wall inside the outer wall though. Foundations here have strict guidelines too, at least in my county. Given how a polebarn works, you can't really follow the guidelines with one. I suppose you could try to find a way, but it would likely be a pain if you could
Have you ever watched R.R. Buildings, or Texas Best Construction? They don't use poles sunk in the ground like a typical farm pole building. I think even your county would approve of the way they do it.@@voguishcars7150
I see the abs light on. Im guessing its a 97-2000? Does it effect drivability or smog?
I have a 03, my abs n traction control have been off for the past 2 years. You can still send it just can’t be a dumbass. Doesn’t effect smog
Destroked?
Nope. All the stroke lol
@@voguishcars7150 fuck yeah daddy 😩 so it is possible! Just a really badass valve train huh?
@@DisturbedVette yes, definitely haha. The only real benefit of destroking is decreased wear due to better rotating assembly geometry. It should be more reliable, along with the unfortunate sacrifice of power
@@voguishcars7150 Yes very unfortunate. reliability may be worth the sacrifice though. But more effort and money and permanent changes to your engine lol
I would love to get one, but I know the insurance is going to be through the roof
You might be surprised. I guess it depends on your driving record though
C6 ZO6 😍
Dude is it possible to know what is that Summit balancer part no.? Please. Does it have the OEM diameters?
SUM-C2501 for stock Corvette specs like the one in the video. There are options for other accessory spacings and underdriven sizes as well. Happy Thanksgiving!

In the video where you raced the 900+hp yellow c6 was you spraying?
Nice, my dream is to one day have a max effort N/A LS7 car, doesn’t have to be in a C6Z but it absolutely can.
Do it bro. A fully built NA C6 Grand Sport would still be supercar fast.
NA king! Road Runner because coyotes can't catch 'em.
What’s the set up?
Should be mentioned somewhere else in these comments. I really can't remember anymore lol
Top speed? My guess 250mph?
Much better stock

I got my 80k miles c5 2004 manual for 14650
I picked up an 02 Base C5 with the Targa Top. I absolutely loved that car and have already dumped like 2k in mods hahaha. Next up is a Cam and Exhaust Headers.
Have fun! They completely change the car! Just beware of honkin sized cams lol
Hey man, nice build! What intake manifold you using? Is it a 97-00 LS1 Intake Manifold or the 01-04/C5 Z06 LS6 Intake Manifold?
Sorry for the delay. It's an ls6 intake!
This guy is a Ford guy deep down inside. Sale the car and give it someone who will appreciate it!!! 🤣

What’s the numbers on the Cam if don’t mind me asking. Also any Dyno numbers?
Check out the dyno vid on my channel! I believe 231/244 .630/.615 112.5+2.5
This is probably one of the last cars built with pop up headlights. In 2004 it was incredibly rare. I don’t know if there’s a car built in 2005 which feature pop up headlights.
It is the last car to be produced with flip ups. I think lotus had the second to last be a slim margin. But I’ve heard debates between those two but never confirmed which was the last
SBC's going to 7k+ just have that sound you wanna hear
Cops in your area must love you
Middle of nowhere. Tons of places to mess around.
How is the traction on it?
I mean, it's obviously not the best option for digs, but second gear traction was surprisingly decent. Could feel it skate a little bit, but surprisingly solid.
