CHICKPEA Curry | Chickpea PATTIES- Which one will you make? |Vegan | Gluten Free
This not quite chickpea curry recipe packs a delicious flavour punch, takes minutes to put together and doubles as a patty. 
It’s vegan, gluten free, perfect for lent and is definitely diet friendly which makes it ideal for weight loss. It’s a healthy delicious recipe that is perfect for a quick meal or to eat on the run.
1/2 med/large onion
2 large cloves garlic
1 medium carrot
1/2 large red capsicum
Coriander to taste (couple of sprigs)
1 tsp oil for sautéing
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cumin
Chilli flakes to taste
2 tbs tomato paste
Salt & pepper
1 tsp stock powder diluted in 250ml water
Or
250 ml stock/broth of choice
1 can chickpeas (drained weight 240g)
A few squirts oil for fryi...

What's the mix flour use please
I use Coles (Australian Supermarket brand ) Gluten free SELF RAISING FLOUR The recipe is below •2x 3/4 cup SR Flour ( lightly packed 190- 200g) •1/4 cup + 1/8 cup Coles SR flour reserve •1 1/2 tsp baking powder •1/8th tsp bicarb •1/2 tsp xanthan gum •pinch of salt •3 tbs caster sugar ( you can use more if desired) •1 tsp psyllium husk (optional) •zest of 1/2-1 orange (to your taste) •1-2 teardrops mastic gum •1-2 tsp Mahlepi ( I used 2 but I love the flavour and aroma) I hope this helps 🙂

Hey there! All I do is use 1 cup (approx 125-130g) of PLAIN (all purpose) GLUTEN FREE FLOUR, any cheap supermarket brand will do. To the flour I add 1/8 ( a pinch) tsp xanthan gum, 2 tspn olive oil & 1/4 tsp baking powder and I drizzle enough warm water to make a pliable dough. Hope that helps I use a non stick pan so no oil needed
Mine broke… why?
Hi there! Sorry to hear your pizza broke 😞 Do you mean the base was cracked when it came out of the oven?
@ when I tried to take it out of the frying pan it broke. I put butter as the base of oil. I only have vegetable oil would that work too?
@Ie4h yes absolutely vegetable oil or a light olive oil for spraying the pan and edges of pizza if intending to broil/grill the top in the oven. No oil in the actual dough. Just wondering if your flour has any gum like xanthan or thickeners in the ingredients as these help the flour or dough bind together to keep its shape and give texture. Also perhaps the pan was too hot or the liquid to flour ratio was a bit off The dough should be soft and pliable but not sticky and wet or dry and hard.
@ the dough kept breaking even when I was flattening it out. The flour did have xathan gum in it It was “Asda self raising flour” unfortunately I didn’ have an oil spray. Thank you for replying!
@Ie4h it might need a bit more liquid by the sound of it, I believe you might be using the blend that contains buckwheat that might be the cause of the cracking. So sorry I can’t help more. All the best with it and let me know if you get a good result if you try again. 😊

Hey there! thanks so much for the comment, this was a spur of the moment post, I will probably put something up soon meanwhile here’s the ingredients and method. I hope this helps 💓 RECIPE 450g peeled potatoes diced 2-3 heaped tbs cornflour Salt 100-120g baby spinach soaked in boiling water 10 min, drained & excess moisture squeezed out 40-50g feta cheese 40g Parsley chopped 1-2 tbs dill chopped 2 tsp olive oil Salt & pepper Optional spring onion if available 😋 Prepare spinach Sauté in lightly (spritz oil) oiled pan Drop tbs water, cover & steam Repeat this til spinach tender & juicy Allow to cool Add herbs, feta, 2 tsp oil, salt & pepper Mix til combined Boil potatoes til just fork tender - don’t allow to overcook & absorb a lot of water Mash & allow to cool Add cornflour & salt/pepper mix to make a “dough” ball Divide in 2 and make disc 12-14cm diameter Spread spinach mixture leaving 1 cm border Make 2nd potato circle and cover the first one Seal edges & shape if need Place medium hot pan spritzed with a few squirts of oil & cover, cook around 10 min one side flip & cook other side covered Pancake will rise and look fluffy Eat right away or have cold later

Yes just keep adding til the mixture forms a nice pliable cookie dough.
How is it the next day?
Really good it keeps for a couple of days on the bench. Wrap it well

Hi there, for this recipe I use gluten free Simply Wize Crusty Bread Mix available from Coles & Woolies supermarkets, it’s also available from online stores too. I hope this helps 😊

Hi Joel, I do say 135g (had to watch it a couple of times tho 😜 it just rushes off my tongue real quick, I speak kinda fast…must be my Greek background 😅 But 135g will do the trick 👍

Just tried to make this recipe and something not right with these measurements, After adding ingredients together was more like a batter than a dough, Seems to only need about half this amount of milk so I've ended up adding about 100g of extra flour and another 30g of butter. Will see how it goes (First proof underway) 🤞
Hi there sorry to hear you had issues with the measurements creating a batter instead of a dough, I do test the recipes & measurements before posting to ensure best possible results. I can only think that the problem may be the flour blend, it definitely has to be a bread flour in order for the liquid to be taken up well to create a dough, if using an all purpose flour then a batter is more likely to occur as all purpose flours lack all the extra proteins & stabilisers that bread flours have. Please pop back and let me know how your second batch turned out and what flour you used, it might help other bakers too. What a lovely calm and sensible presentation! It’s a joy to hear someone talking in their normal voice - so many RUclipsrs use their outdoor, shouty voice which I find really tiring and painful to listen to. And also, they do too much excess explanating at the start. 😂😂😂 I’ll try these crackers - they’re just what I’ve been looking for - I find all gluten free shop bought crackers are way too salty for me, and then to go with hummus or cheese, which are both salty too. It’s too much. So these will be wonderful. ❤

Hi Sue Sorry to hear you had bad luck, maybe try less heat it don’t leave in the oven too long, the video does say after you’ve turned them to keep checking and remove the ones that colour up first as you do run the risk of burning them. I hope that helps 🦋💙

Hi 👋 Unfortunately switching out the gluten free flour for oat flour won’t work as the flours have different characteristics due to the ingredients. GF flour blends contain added proteins and stabilisers whereas oat flour doesn’t much like chickpea flour for example but you can definitely use oat flour to make pizza base. Here’s a recipe 1 cup gf oats (blitz to make flour) 1/2 cup egg whites from a carton 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Mix all the ingredients until smooth & pour into a heated pan, cook one side flip cook the other side, add toppings and bake 10 minutes. I haven’t made this as oats aren’t considered gf in Australia but the recipe looks easy enough to put together. Hope this helps let me know how it turns out if you try it 😊 🌸
Thx so much for this... will keep you posted. Here in usa.. there's the option for GF oats. oats are naturally gf.. tho often are processed in same building as other gluten plants like wheat etc , thus contaminated. Again thx so much . Happy 2024 🌺🙏
@EC-yd9yv yes that’s the problem here too, the cross contamination but they also contain a protein called Avenin which can cause similar problems like gluten for some people so it’s not recommended we eat them unless we’ve completed a medically supervised oat challenge. Too bothersome to put my daughter through that so we just don’t have oats sadly. Went plant based and before seeing this used only plant based yogurt I had with self rising. Now seeing this am excited to try without yogurt or yeast involved - thanks so much as the desire for some form of compliant pizza is on going 🙏🏻

To make the English muffins simply make 1 quantity of my 2 minute Magic dough (see the video for details) divide the dough ball in two, sprinkle some polenta or cornmeal onto the bench, press out the balls to the size of en egg ring, make sure both sides of the muffin are coated in polenta and fry in a pan on medium/high heat about 8-10 min each side with the lid on. Toothpick should come out clean. Links don’t work so please go to my videos and look for 2 minute Magic dough. ❤
