I change the foam sandwich. It was easy all you have to do is cut a slit to the cords don't get snag. There is already a hole in the middle so its pretty easy. I also have a mouse pad on top of the new order as well.

what mesh conversion method did u use? & was it safe & easy?

I have a dm8 pro kit as well, how did you switch to mesh heads? Also, I didn't know you can add on an extra cymbal pad.

I do not know why there is a tad of lag! I edited the the mug out of it. I think its youtube because on my computer it was just fine. But no worries.

Make sure that the plugs on the actual cymbal are in the right place as far as in the right hole and also make sure that the cymbal is set up on 3 zone in the ext trig setting. keep me posted man we will try to work it out together

Liked the video and have a question about my initial set-up. I can't get the ride cymbal to do anything but "gong" when you crash it. The top and bell do not respond at all. Checked the plugs and increased it's sensitivity using the module. No luck. Any ideas?

does the hi hat work ok for you on this kit and does it have a midi connection on the back ? , i was interested in buying one

I can't record it with Audacity (via USB): When I plug-in, the audacity just can't find it as an audio device... can you guys please help me out?

I check and it is discontinued but that is better for you. I am sure you can get it alot cheaper now off line just do a little research for the best price. ALso the usb is nice but some reviews really make it seem like the quality of the hardware is really low

That's a good idea. I'm having a right problem deciding what kit to go for and having somewhere to go for a bit of advice would really help. I'm sure there are loads of people with a similar problem and it seems you were in the same boat when you were buying your kit. I phoned my local music shop today and was told Alesis have discontinued the DM8 pro. I may have to go for the USB after all but I suppose that's an ok kit as well. Thanks again devin

Man I know the feeling before I got my kit I was all over the net and youtube looking for reviews and everything is so mixed. But you know what we should do start up a channel to help people with this sort of problem. I mean alesis doesn't really market well like roland when it comes to e kits and alot more people have added videos with this kit sense I got it but man I remember the uncertainty of what to buy and it sucks lets make some reviews and drum covers and build a movement. I just would have preferred to have tried both the USB and pro in the shop to see which I prefer but they don't stock them. I have had to make a decision based on teh feedback to my you tube enquiries so thank you again for taking the time to reply

What the difference is the pad sound usb is a lot lower than mine but for me the fact that I will be able to get some mesh heads and better feel is important to me. I play acoustic drums as well and the feel is so important to feel groove and just flowing over the kit. Any way as me anything

Do you know anything about the DM8 USB and how it compares to your kit. I was thinking of getting on of them and can't decide which is the better kit

@devinisabeastsmith thanks man for the fast reply, i'm planning to get it, i found it for 460$ on amazon but the problem is i live in egypt & the shipment is pain in the ass .. it will cost me about 900$ to get .. i'm still trying to figure out a cheaper way ... if you have any comments/problems about the kit it will be much appreciated before i purchase:) Thank u

@hobazzz To be honest no it should not. You should get it and what you should do is find it cheaper than what guitar center is selling it for and get them to price match it. I did and I save like 250 dollars it was a blessing.

Really depends man it is not acoustic set loud but it is not mesh head quiet. All in all I dont think it will bother your nieghbors but I do think you might want to mod the pads with mesh heads or do it just for the bass drum which is the loudest. ANYWAY def would recommend and if you have any question let me know man please!

great! please tell me, does it has a loud acoustic sound? in other words, if u used headphones will neighbors still be annoyed ?
