@3:30 il est assez clair que l'industrie métallurgique a été boostée par les marchands de canon qui ont du trouvé le temps long s'il devait se mettre au chômage... Disons qu'il y avait à disposition des métalleux et du métal à ne plus savoir qu'en faire (à faire donc partager à ceux qui aidé à l'effort de guerre, les gagnants écrivent l'histoire...), des concepteurs de moteurs etc... On a continué sur la logique de guerre, l'économie de guerre, reconnaissable à sa forte consommation de ressources et son accumulation de dettes (cf 'les nazis et l'argent', arte) Comme dirait l'autre, c'est la guerre. Sauf que c'est pas nouveau, le plus marrant c'est qu'on est en train de découvrir que c'est à notre environnement qu'on la fait et que c'est en train de nous retomber dessus. Certains s'en rendent comte d'ailleurs, en gros on a laissé glisser l'affaire des fachos ukrainiens de 2014 parcequ'on a du se dire que si la Russie rasait le Donbass, zone charbonneuse, l'Europe serait doublement gagnante en, de surcroit, stigmatisant les énergies russes, en ne faisant pas tout ce qu'il faut pour que les tuyaux de gaz ne finisse pas par exploser. Et vraisemblablement on a donné les JO d'hiver à l'Arabie Saoudite pour qu'elle motive l'OPEP à baisser les flux de pétrole, parceque bon ça ferait monter les prix et il n'y aurait pas de perte financière. Produire moins pour gagner plus, yo! Dans l'idée ça fait gagner des sous à la Russie, dont on veut qu'elle poursuive la guerre (l'inverse, donc, du temps de la guerre froide où la Russie a perdu ses fonds quand l'OPEP a fait baisser les prix en inondant les marchés), le temps que l'Europe mette en place sa politique de transition énergétique, vu que les énergies fossiles deviennent chères et moins accessibles Et oui, c'est de l'éco-fascisme, on a eu la chance de faire les choses plus proprement, avec les COPs (COP21..) mais on n'en a rien fait, ou disons que l'évolution est trop lente. Désormais on doit désormais taper dans des énergies salles, plus chères, et le réchauffement climatique pousse au cul pour qu'on la transition énergétique soit plus qu'effective, du genre elle aurait du être entamée il y a 50ans (sur les courbes c'est timide, ça a commencé il y 20ans) qui n'a pas cherché à considéré l'effet rebond (ce qui n'est pas dépensé là est dépensé ailleurs, d'ailleurs c'est inscrit dans le préambule des COPs: l'activité économique ne doit pas être impacté, ce qui vraisemblablement provoqué le transfert de nos industries en Chine, il est assez hypocrite de ne comptabiliser les énergies consommées intramuros sans considérer celles qui sont nécessaires à nos produits d'importation. De ce que j'ai compris, il n'y a que depuis peu de temps que notre consommation de charbon n'augmente plus...), et puis les pays en développement qui n'attende qu'une chose: qu'on abandonne le pétrole pour se l'accaparer: l'Afrique, et même la Chine, encore sous développée, deux fois plus nombreuse que l'Europe, c'est l'atelier du monde, elle consomme trop de charbon, d'ailleurs elle s'est déjà réservée le gaz russe. De toute façon, la Russie ne pouvait fournir à la fois Europe et Chine, la restructuration tombe à pic. Bref, l'Europe pourrait devenir un modèle à base d'ENR (le nucléaire a l'air cher...) mais qui dit qu'elle va être suivie? Qui dit que le réchauffement climatique ne va pas attendre nos manoeuvres, qui dit qu'il ne va pas partir en sucette d'ici là? Parceque si les éoliennes sont arrachées par des tempêtes force 10, le genre qui a sélectionné les dinosaures par leur poids. Et oui, on vous a dit que la vie a survécu à des températures bien plus élevées qu'aujourd'hui, on vous pas dit non plus que le climat y était calme. Une idée de ce qui nous attend, c'est la vague scélérate: on peut survivre à une hausse du remoud, pas à la vague scélérate qui en découle, vous savez les cyclones, les grands feux, les sécheresses, les inondations, des évènements qui ont l'équivalent énergétique de bombes nucléaires (sans la radioactivité ni la puissance, hein) EDIT: finalement (@15:00) la dette des esclaves s'est reportée sur celles des machines, on ne l'a pas encore payée...

C'est un auditoire de plus de 600 places, et il n'est certainement pas vide. Les premières rangés de cet auditoir ne sont pas les plus agréable et sont souvent réservés "pour des gens importants (qui ne viennent pas forcément)". Mais bon, bientôt 8000 vues, donc ça n'importe pas vraiment.

Il y a juste un commentaire contre factuel : lors de la mise en ligne de son parc nucléaire (de 1974 à 1989), la France a vu baisser ses émissions de CO2 par habitant (cf. ADEME, JM Jancovici). Le même phénomène est observable dans tous les pays ayant choisi cette technologie à grande échelle pour leur mix électrique lors des chocs pétroliers (Suède, Japon principalement). Une fois les programmes développés, par croissance de la richesse, les courbes repartent à la hausse (et bien sûr, en masse globale de CO2 si la population croit elle aussi...)
C'est une très bonne remarque et je vous rejoins sur ce point. Fressoz est avant tout un historien, je pense que ce genre de questions (effets rebonds, croissance associée) sont peut-être mieux appréhender par des économistes de l’environnement. Cela dit, on peut imaginer dès réglementation contraignante en terme de Co2 (taxe carbone, norme d'émission, ...) ayant pour but de de contrôler ces effets rebonds. Pour moi, le débat nucléaire n'a de sens que si le nucléaire est utilisé (temporairement) dans une stratégie de transition global. Mais bon, vu les intérêts en jeux, l'on est encore loin d'avoir des politiques cohérentes et efficaces sur ces questions.

The voice is stagey and declarative while film is an intimate medium. Whispers bring us in. Shouts repel us. She should talk to us, not at us. It distances us from the visuals and while the message of this film is important it tires me.
Distance is precisely what allows to stand the truth and watch it in the eyes without disconnecting from the personal agression. The message is all about the genetically driven nervous system we have. ...like dogs are not like cats.

What a pretentious load of artificially cynical bullshit. I suppose this film might be enlightening to the lowest common denominator, but otherwise it feels like Obvious Day on Camp Stupid. I especially like the part about language being a tool of the ruling class...all the while using ten words where one will do and juxtaposing it with images of the Qatsi trilogy, films which teach the same message and do it without saying a word or insulting the intelligence of the viewer.
Criticizing the narrator? She sounds like Naomi Klein to me, a very pleasant voice. We have been conditioned to listen only to men in positions of authority, proving the point of the movie. We have been conditioned...

The video is well done but it is somewhat confused. It makes many good points and a few ridiculous ones. The major flaw is that it supports the rejection of modern slavery and acceptance of an even worse Marxist slavery. It confuses the term mercantile. Without providing a viable alternative, the ideas in the film would lead to disaster if followed. The population would plummet and the quality of life for most would decline. The points that it makes well is that power is centralized and continues to be consolidated into fewer and fewer hands. This is a disaster waiting to happen. The answer is to take action yourself to live independently.

Simon Perdrisat Assuming you already live in a fascist/totalitarian country, than yes, violence might be the only choice to bring democracy upwards. I live in a free country, where everyone can vote and is encouraged to do so. I mean, it's not Switzerland, but it's not bad. I see no excuse to overthrow the government just because you'd be a little group of pissed off people about a concern of a limited value. It's a giant slap in the face of democracy to let a small group decide the fate of the whole country, and as such, populism is not better.
