This is the same teacher that does not believe in the full enlightenment of those that claim such in the West. I think he is on to something but it's a shortcoming of the religious standard and not the practice of the people he criticizes. I think the standard is superhuman, ie unrealistic.

I wish the audio was cleaner. This is critical info, but it's nearly inaudible at some key points due to the background hissing mixed with the scratchy voice. Please filter it?

Please consider reading full text instead of saying dot dot dot. Even if it is written like that many people might prefer to hear the stock phrases repeated as they were originally presented as an aid to learning and memorization. It may help with actual practice of recollections of Buddha Dhamma Sangha etc :) Thank you for posting and reading this Sutta

I came here following Bhikkhu Bodhi's Majjhima Nikaya audible book, to finding about Bhikkhu Sujato's free translations, to then Sati Center, and to these readings. Thankyou, and as more readings of these Nikayas are done, us laymen followers will benefit to listen to them. (I have all audible books on the Nikayas and have many years of listening and reading ahead, thankyou to all who have done all the recent 50 years translations and publishings and now all these online readings.)

This talk and discussion is wonderful! So many things clarified for me. I think that the 'neurotic break' can be so confusing because of how much it reduces suffering. It really does feel like all the suffering thats left is nothing compared what was before. And, in my experience, the sense of self also turned from locked and heavy to light and malleable.
