Mini Comix from Around the World~ Part 1
These are cool as hell!! Soon as I get a few extra bucks in my pocket I'm gonna do a lil underground comic shopping at your website!! Dig your art!! I'm about six months into cartooning now. It's difficult, exhilirating, frustrating and wonderful all at once. It teaches me patience though. It has opened my eyes to art beyond comic books/cartooning! I'm into watercolor, color pencils, charcoal but I'm starting to focus pencils, then ink.
I spotted the top pretty much immediately and couldn't tell what it was... I have a habit of carrying marbles in my pocket and just recently realized the actual Genesis of my doing that comes from my middle school at instructor encouraging us to keep a few small interesting objects with our sketch tools so we would always have a few components to make a still life study on the spot.... These days i keep the marbles and two gnarled pennies... "Ain't lost my marbles and I've always got my two cents" is what i tell people if they ever notice but the actual truth is Miss Provost taught us well. I also watch a lot of cartoonist kayfabe and it's just made me appreciate so much that we had real artist training us as early as seventh grade if you were one of the ones who took it seriously.
Are you in any of the Spread Love books?
@@hookedonjuneau6313 Nope.
@smallpress well that's bogus.
I love your work, it’s very R. Crumb and definitely very street. As a young cartoonist who’s interested in making Zines I wanted ask what is the book you used to hold and paper and what type it is? Also how do you go publishing your work?
@williamaguilar5519 I use 48 page art portfolio binders. I use smooth Bristol paper for black and white pages. I use watercolor paper for all my full color art. I print the mini comics myself on a home printer. I use print on demand services to print longer books.
@ thank you too for the information, your work is very inspiring and it’s nice to see people Carry on the inde comix movement.
Your work looks awesome!! In the "vein" of Eddie Piskor RIP!!
Just found your channel. I dig indy books and make my own. Rock on!
Nice collection of original books. That's inspiring me to put out an easy plot, faster drawn, practice style comic book.
@apexcomix3200 Yeah, I like the immediate gratification from printing my own mini comics.
I'm an indie creator and publisher of Apex Comix. I like your channel and just subbed you.
Who did the printing? Looks nice
@@briangarber4232 KDP publishing.
This channel looks great, and I'm VERY interested in getting some of these books. Do you think you could list contact info for the cartoonists' stuff so I could order them from the creators?
Oh.. I see that you DO give details in the video... nonetheless, it still would be useful.
@HansRickheit I used to on the old channel but RUclips would sometimes label them as advertising and flag them.
Cool stuff! Love the teeny ones
Looks cool, Adam. I gotta pick one up.
Thanks so much for the love, dude!
Looks great! Reminds me of Jim Woodring! Glad I was recommended this by RUclips/God
Viva Hunch!
Thank you so much, this is super helpful 🦑
DOPE, i just cop’d a print gocco and racked some postal slaps labels
This is so cool, really getting me into zine making! I think I'll pick up some blood dessert comics :D
the comic gave birth to a baby comic and the ribbon is an umbilical cord
The covers of the foreign ones make them look like they are an operations manual from another dimension, which is awesome. Throughout the video I was thinking, "These are small and cute, but can they make them even smaller?" Then the micro comic felt like a huge payoff 🥹
You should add a link to buy your books.
Thanks I forgot to.😅 www.blooddesert.bigcartel.com
Great video. I wish I found your stuff earlier. There are not enough channels like yours.
It is good to know that there is still interest in these beautiful little books. You have inspired me to continue my zine and comic. Thank you for making these videos.
This is really cool unique collection you have .
cool Kus always has some good ones
cool stuff!
Wow👍❤️
My latest train graffiti book - volume 6 - is almost released. I dedicated it to you for your inspiration to self-publish my own books. Thank you
@@jonanjello I am so honored! I am glad I can inspire you and others to do something they love.😃🤘😎
Thanks again, Adam
Luv this video. Who do you use for print on demand? I just finished doing me Zine and am looking for a printer. TIA!

@@smallpress TY!
So much awesome stuff! I love the micro comics!
Hell Yeah!
I always wanted to try to use a fountain pen. How hard is it to use and control?
It takes some getting used to. It is closer to painting with a brush than using a pen.
this my song bro
Good stuff dude
It's great to see someone draw in their own unique style instead of just recreating what is popular. It gives the art its own personality, and it's why I prefer the raw honesty and originality of the underground.
Great video. Thank you. I prefer traditional art post!
Great how to 🤓✌️
Nice finds. I love being exposed to comics I’d probably never see otherwise. I love the format.
Agree.
I had so much fun with my Print Gocco machine years back! I wish they were still available.
Me too. I have to find the supplies for them at second hand stores.
@smallpress We just printed a batch with ours! It would be so amazing to figure out how to make strong frames to keep using the screens. There's gotta be a way to make new screens & other bulbs that are compatible or a modern one that is reusable 💞
@@smallpress help I cant get my pg-11 to work, and its such a bummer
Hhahahah, funny comic, funny music!!! great!
Awesome stash. El Libro Vaquero (The Cowboy Book) is perhaps the longest-running Wild West comics title on the planet, although the issue number is irrelevant as they are all done-in-one stories. Covers for El Libro Vaquero and La Ley del Revolver were painted by Jorge Aviña and Rafael Gallur, among others. There is also a whole subgenre of softcore titles, the most famous of which is Las Chambeadoras (Working Girls) and that one had covers by Oscar Bazaldúa, who worked at Marvel for a time.
I loved your vídeo, one day i would send to you some fanzines from Brazil... Congratulations for the channel, you have another fan in here!
Hey, Adam. I hope you're doing well. I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to create my on print-on-demand books. I created one art book and 13 train graffiti books. I'm currently working on three more. I thanked you in my original art book for the inspiration. Hope you're doing good. Thank you again.
That is awesome to hear. I am doing pretty good. Glad I could inspire you.😎🤘
impressive collection.
I'm glad I found Blood Desert from the previous RUclips channel or wherever. I have the first 33, the colors, and most of the minis and collections. It's a fun series. I'm enjoying it.
Those books with the full color stories are out of print. They are super rare. 😁
Those look like a nightmare to create and store but are super cool.
Not that you would but I dare you to challenge Dave Sim and reach 300 issues lol. As long as you keep the story strong and not descend into pretentious quasi-religious mumbo-jumbo half way through the issues as Sim did with Cerebus the Aardvark, then all is good.
I promise to not ruin my series with long diatribes filled with my mindless ramblings.😅
I am so pleased you're back! Guess you had stuff to do during your hiatus, but I'm happy to see your awesome mini comic reviews return.
Love the tiny comics. I just discovered vines and this sort of thing, but really digging it. I recently bought a pretty interesting indie comic called ; Action Hero by Kapow comics in Ontario.
Thanks for the review man!
