Австралия
Добавлен 9 янв 2024
We have ditched the city and moved to our farm. Join us in experiencing the joy, challenges, and simple pleasures of rural living. Farm animals, fires, floods and droughts; rainforests, sheds and machines; native flora, fauna and food forests; biodiversity, syntropic and regenerative farming all feature in the backdrop as we work off-grid to build an eco-farmstay for discerning guests.

The neighbour’s cattle have been using the rainforest creek as their watering hole for years, causing significant erosion and stalling natural revegetation. Faced with the challenging terrain, James and the team embark on an ambitious project: constructing an electric fence to protect the environment and reclaim the land. #SaveOurCreek #LandRegeneration #ElectricFence #RainforestConservation #R...

I would've bowled straight up with 200 questions :)
That’s cool. You should have said hi! Have a great festive season and stay tuned.
@@scottraven1721ha ha. That would have been cool with me. Thanks.
Great wrap up and we love both channels here @obm1770 👌
Star dropper after star dropper after star dropper 1 rammer I think he has been working out 1 hit 200mm epic😂😂I was tiered just watching😂. May have to invest in a couple of pack mules😊then again the hired help did a great job👍 . There was a lot of puffing from a couple could have been from the roots 😂😂😂.An absolute great job all 👍👍👍 Cheers Wombat 🐾🤗🍻🥂
It was an absolute mission. Pack mules would have been the only other way to go. Thanks.
Going to be a big job maintaining the fence line every week or so
Absolutely. We’ll have to walk it after each storm and high wind event. And probably once a month to maintain it.
@@LifesBetterontheFarm. It will keep you fit. I can drive my 40 acre boundary
Haha. I’ve got to get fit first.
very fine land management protocols right there ! What a beautifull property. betcha felt good after that was done. Great vid :)
It was more a feeling of relief. Thanks.
Wow using Morpheus the best biodynamic compost going from Red Soil Organics you will see the amazing growth and health benefits for your fruit trees and vegetable garden ITs truly a wonderful addition
Yes it is certainly worth the money.
The basil can be used in Thai curry, its great
Interesting! I might give that a go.
Good one. dodged a bullet where that gradient was, bloody 'ell .... nice I felt your glee when getting it back to the shed ! now we all know, thank heavens for milwaukee, and good on ya Michelle Great vid Cheers
Thanks
Machinery definitely makes life easier but occasionally and inevitably something is going to brake but as usual never on a flat piece of ground. Definitely heavy work and not without risk a job well done 👍 and thank god for mates, mate hope you told the Boss that grease gun was on special / on sale ,all those tools save time and which you can tell her means ❤ it gives me more time to spend with you 😂😂.👍 Cheers Wombat🐾🤗🍻🥂
I didn’t think of that but I will be sure to tell her next time!!
Great job.
Thank you
your soil must be really compacted, judging by your hole borer, and are those tree protecters plastic or cardboard?
Yes it was very compacted in places and very soft elsewhere. A bit hit and miss. These are core flute surrounds. We find the cardboard ones don’t last and we can reuse these if we remove them at the right time.
deos'nt the comfrey in the tropics go mildewy?
We are sub-tropical and haven’t had any issues - yet!
I though Euc's had bad oils in the leaves so why use as cut and drop?
I haven’t heard of any bad oils as such. Both the course we attended and our consultant (Rob) encouraged us to plant Eucs as they are native and grow fast.
Happy birthday 🎂Nicole 🥰 great to see family and friends making your day special . Even better to see more than one working must have been a council meeting to promote council workers to actual working councillors 😂😂😂😂have a good one 👍 Cheers Wombat🐾🤗🌿🥂🍻🍕🍕🍕
😂
great vid it just gets better well done team
Thank you.
Jess seems like a real rascal 🤣🤪🤪
She’s a live wire and always brings the fun to the party!
Maybe try some Fejoas . Dont worry about the grubs in the citrus . They turn into butterflies or moths and fly away and the tree goes back to normal
They are not witcherty grubs. they live inside trees wood not under the ground Those things were lawn grubs which will eat the roots of your trees. Or Xmas beetle larvae.
nicely done yahoo. 😊
Thanks mate.
Im amazed that someone makes money by talking about Numbers. Who woulda thunk that
You are all doing such a wonderful job! The turnarounds are for your fire brigade access. You and your family will all be thinking it is money well spent if you ever get a fire on site ;-) You can get the Rural Fire Service out and they can help you put together a full farm fire plan. So often it's overlooked by small farms but it makes fore season safer for you and safer for the RFS if they have to access your property in a crisis.
Thanks for the feedback. I know you right. I just hate the expense right now.
@@LifesBetterontheFarm. * hugs* I hear you, there are so many expenses that arise on a farm...and none of them are small.
Great job folks.
May have been a Bettong. I have seen them at Cania Dam near Monto.
Thanks OBM1770 it was such an awesome day. So many unexpected surprises. A big thank you to James and Michelle, and all the family.
Happy birthday Nicole! Great Ep, now I’m hungry for pizza 😊
They were great as usual!!
Great video Please give details on that great banana pup separating "spade". Many thanks.
Looking great people looks like it’s been there for a 100 years definitely has that rustic look takes a lot of thought and effort to get there ,looking forward to completion only thing is did notice at the beginning 3 on site only one working😂😂thought they were council workers😂 then 2 working but at the end they made another appearance 😂😂😂😂😂👍👍 Cheers Wombat🐾🤗🍻🥂
That made me laugh! Cheers. You’re right. At least we always have one working!
Unreal! Thank you for the upload!
Glad you enjoyed it!
nice one !
Thanks
Great photography @thewildlifefanatics 👌
What a magical area pity about all the non native plants but looking great where cleared would be magic to make into a walking trail and even raised platforms to view from .Lots of work ahead but worth it good to see the grants coming at least they have a vision for a natural habitat 👍😁 Do love all those birds❤ Cheers Wombat 🐾🤗🦜
Yes that’s exactly what we are thinking. A couple of viewpoints (decks) and a few managed walkways. Thanks for the feedback.
Yes mate always something to fix or get done forever and forever 😂 maintenance is what makes world go round and the bank balance low😂 at least everything is working now ???or is it😢😢😂. Cheers Wombat 🐾👍🍻🥂
Yes all those machines are working. But there has been another problem since! 😖

Thank you
should have gloves on with hydraulic oil
I really like how you work with local grants/possibilities. And get so many very knowledgeable people involved.
Thanks for feedback. I find it the easiest way for me personally to learn - from others that is!
Хорошо

👍
Excellent video!
Thanks Terry. Tough trying to think about camera angles while actually doing the work.
Thank you very much!
way to go
Wow, outstanding project guys, looks like fun 🎉
On your fig trees I see the caterpillar but I reckon if you have a close look there will be another beetle there (fig bettle) in central Queensland they hammer the young figs and you get that skeleton effect on the leaves.
Interesting.
