First time to the channel, love this reaction, but you Really need to react to the Game Awards live performance! It is the best version and when you see / hear it you will know why. I think the thought that this song is about Viktor is correct, but not only Viktor. Arcane seems to like things in threes*, there are three transformations / losses here. First Sky fades away to an unknown fate from her current state. Then Viktor's evolution from his sky being Herald state to his LoL final form. This is paralleled by what fuels that transformation, Vander's beast form transforms to the final LoL Warwick that erases what remains of Vander with the fading watercolors evoking the Remember Me sequence. With Viktor in the realm of the stars could it be it's the Vander beast feeling the light shine on his face? The question of Did I Disappoint You? to his daughters? That he'd rather they not be here for the transformation to his final form? To stay their pretty eyes on course and remember who he was before? Is it Powder he thinks of to Pull the Blanket Closer? The tragedy is that more loss occurred because in typical Vi fashion she didn't heed Vander's advice, she couldn't accept his loss which led to the attack by Warwick and its consequences. "I always choose wrong and I lose the people I love." *[which with how much was packed into season 2 makes me think it could have easily been 3 seasons if they had another $100M they were willing to spend - I think they should have, AAA games now cost $600M to $1B to make, while they will last a while they won't last as long as Arcane which will be watched by people's grandchildren.] I'm also a big shipper of Caitlyn and Violet, then when S2E7 - Pretend Like It's The First Time destroys us I hard ship Ekko and Powder. But I have a beef with CaitVi as the ship name, I mean I get it, it would be a bit less clear, but VioLyn was right there!

Oh my goodness this is so… I’m struggling so hard to explain with words. It’s beautiful YES, but… it’s more than that. It’s vulnerable and it hugged my soul. I am obsessed with the way “disappoint you” is sung especially the second time and don’t let me get started on how my soul stopped for like a second with “pull the blanket tight now” THE WAY YOU SANG BLANKET! Oh goodness AND THE INTRO!! My emotions are everywhere Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this with us! In a way, it’s both of your interpretation of the song (which is why it makes it all the more vulnerable) and I absolutely loved it!

Thank you for giving the Intro of Remember Me the attention it deserves! I love how it builds, & how disembodied, fragmented, & echoey the vocals are because Vander's mind is hard to reach. Also, the lyrics of To Ashes & Blood are soo good & can be applied to any of the characters. I personally see a lot of Viktor's arc foreshadowed in the lyrics ("You summon storms, you play with nature" referencing the hex storm in the finale & Viktor defying death. "Why would you want to shape the world in your hands? You will never make it through" tells of his doomed fate. "How does it feel to reach the line that no one ever got to cross? Does it make you a god now?" THE LINE. And y'know, religious imagery.)

I've read that the chorus is a kind of song that people sing in honor of Janna, who is the goddess of the wind. This song plays in the series while a fight is taking place in a temple dedicated to this goddess (who is also a champion in LOL). I'm not sure if this is 100% true but it makes sense to me.

His songs are a recurrent in Video Games soundtracks (Assassin’s Creed, Dying Light, Granturismo, …), in movies soundtracks (Divergent series, trailer of Hunger Games, Arcane series, Umbrella academy, Desertio, Ellis, …) He has performed also very beautiful duets with Lana Del Rey, Elle Fanning, Lykke Li, Son Lux, … Fun fact: he is from Lyon in France and so is Pomme. Woodkid knows Pomme and they sang a duet a few years ago. When Riot was looking for someone in French to sing in duet with Stromae, they did not initially thought to Pomme, despite she is very famous (elected best newcomer then best female artist in France, Billie Eilish has publicly claimed to be a fan for years, she sang a duet with Aurora, …). It’s Woodkid that told Riot and Stromae that Pomme would be a perfect fit for "Ma meilleure Ennemie" and for sure it proves to be. Pomme even contributed to the song creation.
