You should avoid archinstall, it is known to break from time to time. Also never use an ntfs disk with linux, this can lead to serious problems ( like data corruption) even if "you do things right". Also you must have done something wrong because the fps gap from linux to windows is in average in the range of +-10% and .1% are much better on linux in general. While if you have in particular an Amd video card you will overall have a better experience on linux than on Windows in gaming

Different distro, but i had only slight issues in the beggining when i switched from windows to manajro and those slight issues never came back for the second round i would really only have hardtimes when it came to some install some modded games, like S.T.A.L.K.E.R: GAMMA which do have tutorials on how to install on linux

You say at 08:00 : "the single thing I hated about it is the fact that you have to declare all of your variables right at the start of your program". This is wrong, as they can be also be declared at the start of any BLOCK/END BLOCK construct. This is less flexible than C/C++ where they can be declared obsolutely anywhere, but IMO declaring variables anywhere can also be a bad practice. What is really annoying is to not be able to declare the loop index right in the loop construct (DO INTEGER::i =1, N is not possible, although it's possible in the more recent DO CONCURRENT construct)

I remember being a kid using Windows XP and Vista, and thinking how cool and futuristic Windows 7 looked! It felt so exclusive with the pretty start orb, widened task bar, and much improved Aero theming. I remember how cool I felt when I bought a $315 laptop with my own money in early 2012, or $432 in 2024. I had a blast discovering all the theming options, built in wallpapers, screensavers, sound tweaks, and so on. Plus all the pre-installed software that either made the thing more fun or at least seemed useful to *somebody*, HP bloatware not withstanding. (Even back then I hated it.) Windows 8.1 had some kernel and efficiency improvements over Windows 7, but already you were starting to see the shift at MS with the introduction of the Windows Store, mobile/cloud-first attitudes, and so on. Plus, later updates to Windows 7 backported things like Onedrive (formerly Skydrive, remember that?) into Windows Explorer. While I will always cherish Windows 8.1 as the last time I truly enjoyed using Windows as an operating system, I won't deny that I tweaked the hell out of it to try and get it as close to Windows 7 as possible. I went as far as to install a sketchy application which promised to re-introduce the Windows Aero settings which may or may not have been buried inside. To me, it felt like what I still believe would be the best OS possible: Windows 7 with a modern kernel and API support. It was cool to own what you paid for, and it's a shame that so many people have seemed to forget that. Thank you Windows 7 for all you did, and thank you Windows 8.1 for being the hidden gem I still regret wiping just because I wanted to play Forza Horizon 5 or whatever.

It’s good to install Linux the hard way as it teaches you a little on how to reconfigure your system if you change anything, like adding or changing drives

Why are you running arch, just get yourself something like pop-os, mint, Ubuntu, or Debian. It’s much more beginner friendly (all gui installer option that work superb). Also it’s stable (not bleeding edge untested). Arch is like the worst os to begin learning or get a first impression coming from windows.

"Cross platform is a scam" NO. Cross platform API aren't a scam. Developers just don't utilize it properly.

My experience trying to game on Linux was terrible and last for less then 2 days , with me giving up on Linux pretty much on the first day of using it, wine didn't work for all the games I wanted to play. Also one of them need easy anti cheat for it to run wich doesn't work on linux

hey the fps issues might be cause of obs (?) if you use vkcapture obs plugin you will get much better performance when recording
