That judge never even told this murderer how devastated this poor family has been with the cruel death of this father and grandfather. It disturbs me when he speaks of sitting on the beach and dreaming up their daughter. He is close to twice her age. That personality of his, his choice of words, his desire to attack. That is traumatic for Chloe and I’m flabbergasted that no one objected

Well after listening to him denigrate his living daughter at the expense of baby Hannah I could hardly contain myself and couldn't listen to the whole thing. I can't imagine trying to deal with somebody like him when you're in a good head space much less when you're not. He alone is enough to drive someone completely nuts. My heart goes out to Chloe. She's in prison for life, the baby's dead and there he is walking free. No justice here.

It makes me mad he was able to give a victim impact statement tbh. He should be in prison himself. He preyed upon Chloe.

I wanted to just comment. Their "family" was a small group that was part of a larger problematic group with cultists beliefs called the 12 tribes. To just call it a small group is not really accurate as their influences, the way they test women and children is horrid. My son and i could not get over the fact he's wearing a hoodie under a suit jacket? Who does that? The words? The attitude. Before you judge me, my son was killed 7 years ago today, i understand grief of losing a child. This guy had a chance to show some of his beliefs and control and if you listen to his jail calls with Jason their plan was to prostialtize for their cause. Belief, church. Etc? Not sure all his motivations was it to help or hurt Chloe? They like to use a lot of reverse psy. Of course all this my opinion.

Maybe I’m reading too far into things. But the way he keeps bringing up Jen feels manipulative. “Jen thought it was a healthy relationship too.” “Jen went vegetarian with me.” “Jen thought this too.” It’s like he’s trying to make it sound more normal and credible by having a “witness”. Except we never get to hear from her. He was standoff-ish about swearing in. Which I’m sure is a valid issue for certain people with different views. But for him, it seems like he wants to feel free to stretch the truth without feeling like he’s lying. Even just the way he talks over and steamrolls the woman questioning him, it tells me all I need to know about how he treated the women he viewed as property. Just my thoughts. My freshman in college is going towards Psychology Forensics or Criminal, she's not yet sure. I don't know why her brains works they way it does, to wanna get inside someone head. LOL. But is this a degree that will be a good one to have as the world & technology evolves?

I thought the judges speech was very thoughtful. I don’t know if she’ll ever get paroled. Hopefully the chance at parole will cause her to better herself and learn who she is

This guy’s a complete narcissist. I was completely disgusted by the fact that he came in and basically tried to run the courtroom. I hope Chloe gets the help that she needs.

This judge was very good. It was so sad when she mentioned how it seemed no one from Hannah’s family (including dad) was there for the trial and he of course piped up then too and it looked like security might pull him out of the court room.

Watching his statement made me very much understand why the prosecution called Jason instead of him.

23:27 I think he and Jason convinced and manipulated Chloe into saying and believing she was SA’d by her brother(s), Jason mentioned it too that she was being SA’d and doing Coke every day when she was very young. Who knows if it’s true but I think they implanted these things in her mentally ill mind as a way to control and manipulate her even more deeply.

Although I believe Z did love daughter I seriously doubt he felt she was going to contribute anything major to the world. He probably more saw her as an extension of himself or his property much in the same way he say way he saw Chloe. Ive also heard the phone calls between him and Jason and none of those calls were centred on how much he loved and missdd his daughter they were all about manipulating Chloe or the court or viewers. You cant give a baby the best of everything if you are basically homeless and wondering the countryside with 2 other women in a tiny van or sleeping on peoples floor. That's a delusion. Babies need stability. Also, it suited him, and Jason fine to say she was delusional when they had her under their thumb, but as soon as she might be seeing someone else shes evil, and the baby becomes a matyr.I really think he is an incredibly dangerous person. I can see why young girls might think he's so smart and clever and fall for spell, not realising he could turn on a whim. I don't like him at all. I feel a level of empathy for Chloe because she tried to escape with her daughter and couldnt. In some sense i feel she felt very trapped.
