We chased this sculpted supercell from Sloan Iowa to Omaha Nebraska on June 12, 2024. Storm produced very large hail and possible a tornado. My windshield was cracked on both sides but the center was spared.

The tendrils of a dissipating supercell seem to closely resemble the vortices of a large tornado. It makes me wonder if there’s any correlation between the structure of a mesocyclone and that of a large tornado.

Basically when the inflow cloud gets sucked under the meso, the inflow vortex becomes the base of the tornado. There’s a simulation online RUclips on tornadogenesis and you can see it perfectly in your footage!!! Awesome video!!!

Great drone footage Mr. McKinney. Keep gettin it! And good job at raising that kid. Freddy and connor save lives and do such a good job at chasing at such a young age. Its just cool to see the youth amount to such things still. Two kids that other kids should take notice of. 🫶🏻✌🏻🌪️⛈️
