      Definitely not. It was 4 years ago and was the best option I had at the time. Nonetheless it solved my problem, hopefully it saves at least one individual from the time and headaches I went through to discover this.

    Do you know if that washer is crucial behind the water pump wheel? On my 02 it didn’t have one when removing everything and was wondering if I should get the exact washer or if any washer that fits the thread would work. Thanks!

    • @RecreationWerx
      @RecreationWerx 8 месяцев назад

      If I were in your shoes I would opt for the OEM washer. A generic one might be an exact match and may never cause an issue but the simplicity and of ordering the exact one would be my choice. Peace of mind at the end of the day

      Cerakote is a coating company that specializes in durable thin coating that have high chemical and heat tolerance. You can check out their website! I pre heat the cases in the oven for 1 hour then apply coating. Then bake again for a full hour.

    I see you hit the bearing in with the socket on the inner race? Is that a bad thing to do? I did that today and am worried it wrecked the bearing.

    • @RecreationWerx
      @RecreationWerx 3 года назад

      As long as you are careful and use the right size socket you can feel the difference in the taps once the bearing is seated. I prefer to use a light weight brass hammer or a plastic hammer.

    • @fabyanjim1
      @fabyanjim1 2 года назад

      Never and i repeat never hit the inner race to install a bearing. The correct way would to find something the same size as the outer race thats where u apply pressure hits etc.

    Putting together a 02' YZ125. With gear shafts, forks, and cam installed, I test fitted the other case half to test gears. It keeps getting locked on the dogs. Though the gear cycle. Do the gears on shafts 1&2 need to be timed or something. Wanna make sure before I install crank.

    I have a similar problem. Did a full top and bottom rebuild recently, bike shift through ALL gears when the bike is off, but when the bike is on, I do not have 3rd gear. I have 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th, but 3rd gear is a false neutral every single time when the bike is running, any ideas from anyone who has had this happen?

    need suggestions !! 1999 yz125 will freely shift up thru gears but will not go down, when u go down it goes to Nutral and that needs to be forced... i have the whole right side of the motor apart and everything looks good, the shifter shaft is slightly worn & kick starter spring is shot but that is all I can visibly see do u think i need to split the case to look at the trans (think maybe its my shifter fork?) or do u think replacing the shifter shaft will solve the problem? u seem very knowledgeable and I am desperate...rlly don't want to split the case kind of a rookie at all this

    • @RecreationWerx
      @RecreationWerx 4 года назад

      I would look closely at the shifting segment and make sure it’s moving freely, then I would removed the mechanism and try to rotate the barrel to shift through the gears while spinning the shafts. Sounds like a tough situation

    This video right here, this is the video that set me free from my burdens! After time wasted trying to figure out my hard shift from 1st to 2nd and also hard to put into neutral- I finally ran into the video with the information in it that was the answer to my issue! AND I WAS ABOUT TO SPLIT CASES AS WELL BRO! RIGHT ON. Now I havent confirmed that it was the issue yet. But what I can tell you is that my shift shaft is not straight and true when I set it onto my Mitutoyo granite plate!!.. Im going to mark the position of the bracket to shift shaft, grind and remove bracket, try to straighten out the shaft by heat treatment or force, reweld bracket, and see if that works. THANK BRO
