Ha! Haven't heard this since I was about 12, when John Winterbottom from school taped his parents' copy for me. Thanks Winnie! The chips were good and all ....

I remember seeing an episode of this as a child about a woman starved in an attic room and it scared the living daylights out of me. And so did this music.

Just randomly popped up for me, but how does it know I had this as a tape when a kid in the 70s and played it continuously within an inch of its life 😂

I had this on cassette with exactly the same cover artwork.

The theme music and music on catweazle was brilliant and takes me back to my childhood

My Mum loved this tune. It was the only thing that she remembered in her time with dementia. Always brought her back to us for a short time. RIP.

Billy Goldenberg wrote the theme for AS&J, but Geoff Love’s version isn’t that bad.

This was one of my favourites of my Mum & Dad's albums - played it endlessly as a kid.

I remember this theme very well. It was a music box in the opening credits. I don't really remember any specific story though.

Just seeing that album cover has brought back some special memories !

love this arrangement of a classic theme. I still have this album, bought when I was 11-years-old in 1975 for the princely sum of 75p ! Played it to death on my "Music Centre" hi-fi, of which I was so proud lol.

Must admit to having this cheesy LP but in my defence my Father bought it, in autumn 1977. We played it for about six months then it went out of favour as we started buying real albums.

Great to find this upload, thank you x 1,000.. I had to pause it and turn it down - with more bass, I'd listen to it on headphones :0) This is the stuff right here. It's Jazz, but 1960's-Style. The most happenin' theme track, for a great black & white series. I miss Peter Vaughn. The BBC Christmas film, that he is haunted in - amazing performance, such a departure from Craddock. He is still alive on Talking Pictures TV, another reality. ThanksYeMuchly :0)

I use to get a Geoff Love theme LP every Xmas in the 70's...War themes was my first...and favourite...He was really my first introduction to vinyl and orchestral music...I still have the LP

Wonder what electric guitar they used on this.

I prefer this version to the Cipriani original , the orchestration is excellent and it has more energy.

I'm 61 now . Great memories of my youth when buying music. one of my 1st purchases from Woolworths as regards vinyl . A Great Album !

I was told mfp LPs were so cheap because they were recorded at 2.00 am (cheap hire of the studio) by a half sized orchestra with musicians playing several different instruments. Was this true?

I bought this in the early 70's to play on my first stereo. Brilliant to hear it again!
