Museums began because people used to collect strange and interesting things from around the world to impress their friends. They started as "cabinets of curiosities" and richer people would have entire rooms of stuffed animals and shells etc from all around the world. Eventually, one guy died and left his collection to Oxford Uni for the public to be able to enjoy. This became the first public museum in the world. Anyway, this place with all the stuff reminds me of those old collections.
