stop mashing smash attacks and use nair

Recently I just got fairly good at sephiroth, and here are some tips for you: - Don’t use down air every time you’re above the opponent - Use less committal options. Use more landing fair, landing bair, shadow flare, and nair. Hope these help!!

Hello. Sephiroth main here willing to help you. (Anything i say is not meant to be taken personally,this is just constructive criticism) 1- You are using Sephiroth's special moves way more than you need to. The moves are good,but you are using them to the point where it gets predictable,as shown where Falco is using his deflector to stop Shadow Flare and neutral B. You need to start using his normal moves more. 2- Sephiroth's Nair. Sephiroth's nair is one of his best normal moves,and you never used it in the entire match. The move is easily spammable although the range is short. It's best use is when upclose with the opponent, as a "get off me tool" as Sephiroth likes to keep distance (will talk more about thaf later) or out of shield. 3-If you know how Sephiroth's sword works,you can skip this entire part. Sephiroth's sword is split into 3 parts, The hilt,the middle and the tip. In all SLASHING moves (Bair,Uair, long Recovery,Ftilt, Fowardsmash,Upsmash) the middle of the sword does the most damage,then the tip does the 2nd most,then the hilt does the least. For STABBING moves (Utilt,Dair,downsmash,short recovery,Fair) the tip does the most damage,the middle the 2nd most damage and the hilt the least. This is why spacing is important on Sephiroth. 4-Some moves as Sephiroth is incredibly risky,such as his neutral B. This move is only good in certain matchups and in advantage (when the opponent is offstage) so you can use it at the ledge. His Dair is bad,you should rarely ever use it. You are much safer using nair,fair,bair and maybe Uair (risky move as quite slow) to deal damage in the air. 5-Sephiroth's weight. Believe it or not,Sephiroth is actually as light as KIRBY,while being tall. This js why playing aggressively with Sephiroth is dangerous,and it's encouraged to be a lil more passive/patient (this does not mean to spam projectiles btw) 6-Recovery has 2 parts,if you already know how it works skip this part. If you simply press the recovery button,sephiroth will dash in whatever direction very quickly,but the range is shorter than the one often use. When you hold the recovery button,it travels further,deals more damage but is much slower. 7-You dash too much. Nothing wrong with it,but running is sometimes straight up better. There's alot of advanced stuff I missed (such as his wing and how to utilize it properly) but these are the absolute basics. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
