Dette er faktisk sist Norge slo Sverige i ein tellande kamp. Vi må altså heilt tilbake til 1977. Måla vart scora av Rune Ottesen og Odd Iversen.

Taken from the from the WC qualifying game between Norway and England in 1981. The game is famous for Bjørge Lilleliens speech after the final whistle. The entire game was in fact very entertaining to listen to. This clip is taken from the same game. Lillelien expresses is anger towards Phil Neal after a tackle on Tom Lund.
He's better than Tyldesley!
As a Scot myself he doesn't need to explain it at all.
The goat eliot
To kjemper i norsk mediehistorie på eitt brett. 🏆💐
a great sports commentary by a great sports commentator. This was 1981, He was so happy & passionate, he forgot to mention many others, He could have said (right off the top of my head)::"we have beaten England the land of the beatles, Rolling Srones, The Kinks, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rod Stewart, , Lulu, Petula Clark, Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck, Jrr Tolkien, Shakesepere, John Milton, Chaucer, Henry VIII, Cromwell, Elizabeth The First, Queen Victoria, Duke of Wellington who defeated Napoleon, Bernard Montgomery, Isaac Newton, Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Michael Caine, Peter Sellers, Peter O Toole, Joe Cocker, Peter Frampton, Alfred Hitchcock Charlie Chaplin, Cary Grant"""""" and many more. I am not English by the way. I am an Asian who loves world history & an observer of global culture.
Lulu is Scottish as was Sean Connery - and Rod Stewart is more of a Jock than English in reality - Peter O'Toole was Irish as was Wellington geographically !!! Confusing England with Britain (aka UK) is not uncommon with some folks though.
Sean Connery and Lula are Scottish. Tom Jones is a Welshman.
@@maconescotland8996 Rod Stewart's an Englishman, and so was Peter O'Toole.
@@trebleking1641 My bad on O'Toole - Rod Stewart may have been born in England - but he his heart, soul and mind are Scottish.
Norway was (and is, unfortunately) a small football nation. All vwe got in the media was English matches every saturday. So all football heroes was English. I had a BIG poster of Liverpool team on my bedroom wall when I was 7 years old (1981). You just lay there and look at them.... My sister liked the good looking ones of course..And you could see them play when NRK decided to show their matches
greatest moment in sports history
you can say that about England in most tournaments now especially after the pathetic 0-0 against Costa Rica in 2014!
Love it. From Ireland.
"So, Neil Armstrong, can you remeber the number of the Apollo mission you were involved in?"
I think he will be a great player in the future
Lord Beaverbrook was actually Canadian but moved to Britain in his early 30s but nonetheless an excellent historical set of references. Also England did actually qualify for the 1982 World Cup although we did our best not to on this occasion.
EURO's 2022. England Women 8 - 0 Norway Women. If there is anyone famous in Norway (I can't think of any) Your Girls really got there Bums spanked tonight LOL
Looks a player 👌 hope the lad smashes it next season stuff of dreams his story
Renessansen!
RIP that commentary lives in English culture as much as it does in Norway's
Even the losers have to tip the hat to such joy 😃👍
classic
Public humiliation of England in a freemason mafia gang ritual. The traitors of my country Norway run the fictive world based up on economics. They are a disgrace to all Norwegians! All professional sport is rigged
The interviewer looks like '66 World Cup hero Alan Ball...
I thought it looked a bit like Emlyn Hughes
As an Englishman I found his commentary hilarious. "Maggie Thatcher can you hear me? Your boys took one hell of a beating!" We only lost 2-1 😂😂😂
Losing is losing. Live with it.
Man, Robson really tried to mess that up and don’t start me on Clemence and McDermott
Brilliant, loads of passion
He's still giving our boys a hell of a beating in heaven I bet <3
Legendary business. Up there with the greatest passages of sports commentary ever.
The best...
This is a great quality video given that he died in 1987

Norway idolised English football.. thats the only football they watched. Well done norway 🇳🇴 it was a good match. First ever GIANT KILLINGS IN FOOTBALL RECENT HISTORY..
@@ingefossen8499 true... It was Norwegian players that first arrived in the early days of the Premier league .. thanks to Norwegian players the Premier league is what it is today ...
@@ingefossen8499 I was next to Manchester oldham ... and I used to watch this player Gunnar Halle who played for oldham athletic.. Great player
Norway has always been full of Liverpool supporters
great quote, a legend of a quote, but England were not knocked out of the World Cup qualifying. We went to the finals.
A big reason why this commentary became so iconic in England is the respect it affords us, which was rather undue by 1981, given that we hadn't qualified for either of the previous two World Cups. Lillelien's awe of England as the birthplace of football (and the world's great colonial power) was already something of a throwback. An attitude that most other countries had shrugged off back in the 50s.
@@kisbie you got that right ✌️🏴
The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree is given by the city of Oslo as a token of Norwegian gratitude to the people of London for their assistance during the years 1940-1945. A tree has been given annually since 1947. The tree lighting ceremony takes place on the first Thursday in December each year.
being a taff one of footys greatest results..as britains best team [wales[we come to Wembley next month with vengeance a la carte..bbc.. doris the boris.. Richard tax dodger branson. the royal family .. edl .. we,ll give ypur boys a hell of a beating

An absolute legend👍. May Thor bless him
Well we saved you from the Germans
If the Germans had won they'd be saying "we saved you from the British".
@@shakes.dontknowwhatyergettin or we saved you from mass immgration
I think that is what Lillelien is trying to say. England. The home of giants. Sir Winston Churchill. Churchill were Britain's prime minister during WWII.
Uhh..the Soviets did.
@@nickhanlon9331 oh so the British did nothing to win the war then.?
