the original british version, Pop Idol, had two hosts, and it worked fantastic. Ant & Dec (the british hosts) have gone to make millions and millions. I guess American Idol tried to recreate that... Since the other guy, Brian Dunklemen is now worth $500,000, compared to seacrests $75,000,000, and Brian's only other acheivment was appearing on "celebriy fit club".... It clearly didn't work out :)

@kellybriannefan27 she was never in the bottom throughout the entire show. Even through her little misshaps and vocal issues she still managed to perform. It wasn't until the final three shows that simon gave her real props. I did however, think it was innappropriate for simon to praise kelly durring the moments when the judges addressed nikki after she was kicked off. and by the looks of it, kelly agreed with me. It was almost a slap in the face. Simon knew kelly was gonna win though.

I don't think kelly liked the fact that simon praised her while nikki was getting booted. She was hiding behind justin and did not have a response whatsoever.

@finneyfaery Nikki did sing in tune..was she pitch perfect? No but most of them aren't not even Kelly or Tamyra. Nikki has a more rough around the edges voice...which causes a lot of people to accuse her of not being able to sing in tune when anyone with a trained ear can hear she is singing in tune. Considering a lot of people who auditioned for S1 got turned down and accepted on later seasons I don't see Nikki having a problem making it on Idol if she auditioned now. :)

like yours, it was just an opinion. i think everyone just felt sorry for her because she was a single parent and all that crap she kept feeding the cameras. she really couldn't carry a tune. simon even mentions that he doesn't understand how she made it as far as she did. not in this video but in ones past. it's true though, if she were to do it today, she wouldn't stand a chance. that was the first year for amercian idol, it was live and learn for the judges decisions.

well, so is carrie underwood, but those 2 i think are the only sucessful.

I can't even really imagine American Idol with 2 hosts. When I watch this it just seems too scripted with them switching back and forth. Ryan is the perfect host for American Idol. He basically just improvises, and it makes it seem less like a TV show. Dunkleman quitting in my opinion helped American Idol.

she TOTALLY knew she was going home. she was just flying along on the wings of luck! i am so dumbfounded.. that she made it to the top 3!! i never would have believed it. i am shocked she made it past hollywood. considering the talent that is on there now, if she had auditioned this time around, i don't think she would be in the top.. it's just weird that she went ahead of tamyra grey.. insane..

yes, the producers really exposed and drain these kids really bad.. Brian feel bad about it... look what happened with Ryan Starr and others, they don't get deserved contract..
