Oh my giddy aunt! It's no wonder the food bill is high when you're paying people to grate cheese for you. It practically triples the price of cheese, and seems like an unnecessary extravagance. Same applies to packages of coleslaw. Make your own from fresh, whole vegies, put it all in a big container with a length of cling film right down on top of the cut veg, then an airtight lid. It will keep in the fridge for a week provided it's kept dry. Burgers and meatballs could be made at home (50/50 beef/pork mix), and jars of tomato sauce for pasta could also be made at home. Just buy the fruit in bulk when it's in season - you might have to travel to a market to buy a 5 or 10kg box - and spend a couple of hours making homemade, free of preservatives, colour and flavour enhancers etc. As for the overnight oats, if they're prepared at night Luke could do it himself just before bed. Hell, put some tomato and cucumber plants in the garden and pick your own for salads. What you don't use fresh can be turned into sauce and bottled for the rest of the year. If I'm to be totally honest I would feel embarrassed as hell going through the supermarket checkout with a bag of grated cheese. Buying a $5 grater could save you hundreds in the long run.
