Made 4 of these for my car too, 2 mm steel. one for the radiator in front, one for brake lines on the left side, one for the fuel lines on the right and another smaller one on the brake line bend. For these I also added crossplates around 1 cm high running across the whole plate for additional strength. Took me around a week to do everything, but 70% of that was cleaning the cheap rusty metal sheet so I could properly paint it. I bought a composite skid plate for the oil pan around 3 years ago, but it literally drags on shitty roads all the time cause the gap between the pan and the plate is too big, like 7-8 cm. I figured with a reinforced plate you are just fine with 2 cm gap, you'd need a pretty big hit to bend both the plate and then the aleady thick oil pan. Now I laugh at our forest roads where peeps constantly lose pieces of their plastic undertrays😂 steel plates these took some good hits already and apart from minor pwint scratches everythings perfect. I can probably now lift the car anywhere I want, even on the bumper😂

I hold a very strong suspicion about people selling 80s and 90s jdm cars and then it turns out a month later it starts to have problems. Sad that people just want a quick buck and will just let the car run away running like shit. I want to enjoy the magic of these cars without worrying about the previous owner messing it up.

Hell yeah, my frist project car was an 88 crx, i love these cars. 88-91 like yours are the best looking. I put a JDM b16a1 in mine(motor some of them came with from Japan). It hauled ass bro, and these little cars are on another level when you autocross them. Definitely looking forward to watching y'all fix it up

Just welded up an aluminum one for a buddies NA Miata outta scrap aluminum, we attached it to the same rear point but front on the little tabs next to the steering rack. And it's got me thinkin of making a full under-tray for my 05 FXT. Hope you're still havin fun doing car shit man!
