Fixing shower failure
Просмотров 624 года назад
This was to be a simple project but sometimes Dr. Handymom needs re enforcement. We got to the point of taking out the shower cartilage but found it was it permanently stuck and only a plumber really can do anything. They came in and completely replaced the whole unit. We ended up with new shower fixtures as a result. Created and posted video to demonstrate even the best of us DIYers need help
Installation of Glacier Bay Market kitchen faucet

This video shows how easy it is to replace your kitchen faucet. We had a delta faucet that was leaking and a poor design. Repacked with Glacier Bay market Faucet from Home Depot and literally less than 5 min to do it!!
Repairing a Hunter Ellipse exhaust fan
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
We have a Hunter Ellipse bathroom exhaust fan and ever since we moved in it makes awful sounds, just stops working and really I doubted of it was actually doing its job. I decided to see if I can fix it before investing in a new one. A bit tricky with this model but I was able to get to the motor to oil it and poof it works!! I made this video because there’s no other Hunter exhaust fan videos ...

Crawlspace improvement
Просмотров 194 года назад
DIY weekend project by Dr. Handymom and her side kick Karl: Crawlspace improvement. I have never been in our crawlspace. 9 years in this house and never have we open the door. We know there’s a lot of cold air and it’s freezing in the basement. As it’s a finished basement and can’t get behind the walls, we figured to close up as much homes in the crawlspace. We found tons of gapping from insula...

Clogged Drain hose in Fridigaire freezer
Hi, I replaced the DMD chip because I had a lot of white dots. Now everything seems fine except that in the bottom left corner of a 100-inch image, there's a brighter area, roughly 40 cm in height and 40 cm in width. Is this the chip's fault, or has some other component gotten dirty?
Too bad I didn't see your video before the service guy came. I have a Frigidaire model FPHS2386LFO with a plugged drain line. I couldn't remove the line, found out later, it's not removable, it's permanent. He did what you said, angled the line and that fixed the problem.
Awesome! Took me 50 euro-bucks on eBay for a chip-ment from China, your video and less than an hour to make our projector work again. Thank you!
Helped. thank you. I am wondering if it can also be due to the misalignment between hole above the hose and the metal plate that covers it
merci madam e vous êtes au top
Really good and helpful vid, Replaced and it works. Hope the chip lasts a few years, course took me almost 2 h changing it. Thx so much😊
I couldn’t see the black tubing or hose you were referring to. And how do I clean the coils? So I tried to repair the exact same leak in same refrigerator. And I couldn’t fix the leak 😣
Thank you very much! You saved me a bunch of steps. I almost took off the same cover. I will go down and pull out the fridge now. Furthermore, I also have a Frigidaire side by side.
Thank you for a helpful problem diagnosis!
Thanks for your video from Spain. It was very usefull for me. Happy Christmas!
Right on lady we have been dealing with this stuff for 20 plus years even had a tray that Encompass the whole underneath the refrigerator to deal with the water leakage and found your video 100% thank you
So how did you do it ? I got frustrated 😮
Cant get the cover back on Please help.
What do you use to remove the screws what tool
Very helpful, thank you
Thank you so much for this!! I've been having to fix my fridge for the same thing and your video showed exactly where I needed to really inspect.
Mom in the Background made me chuckle. Hey you are very encouraging, maybe can you get a tripod or a better camera? I love to see you youtubechannel grow.
Mine litteraly did the same thing! I couldn't figure out how to open the motor, how did you do that? But I did clean it up and it somewhat improved but I need to figure out how to open the motor to oil it!
Can't see the back of what you are doing because you didn't have a flashlight shining on parts, etc.???
odd , my drain pan looks like it was dragged down the highway , water wont drain even if moses was directing it , and yes , it was never opened up till yesterday go and its not in production anymore , no wonder people buy new ones every 10 years. Great video work , well done.
A flashlight would help me to see inside there.
Thanks - Chip is replaced - no Spots any more on the picture.
Go for it
Thanks, spent an hour on this. Should have this clicked this video first! HERO!!
My S'hero!!! 🙌 ty tysm!! ☺
Kinda stinks that Dr. Handy Mom didn’t respond to any of these questions. Inquiring minds wanna kno.
How did i work? And how much snow do you get? How harsh are the winters, I’m trying to figure out a way to do it with a waterproof heated wrap around the machine and insulation around the tub. Please lmk how it worked for you.
I live in MN and ive done something similar to this for the last 3 years...I used the same foil insulation around with added layers of bubble wrap, I used foam insulation board to make the housing around the pump, I also use a pool solar cover on top of the water/below the cover.
Hi Dr. Handy Mom, my projector currently needs a dmd chip replacement. So if I saw it correctly in your video you got a 1280-xxxxB as a replacement. May I ask what your projected picture looked like, because I found a lot of conflicting information online. After following your tutorial and having a look at my original chip which is a 1272-xxxxB and ordering it, I got sent a 1280. Now wondering if I should sent it back or keep it. Great video and already helped a lot, really appreciated. Thanks
Hi there, i'm in the same situation right now, did you figure this out? The original projector chip is 1272 (which i'm pretty sure comes from the projector's resolution of 1280 x 720) but an aliexpress seller said that i'd need to order the 1280 chip. Maybe 1280 works as well?
Somehow your answer doesn't show up in this thread but I've read it in my notifications. Thank you so much. For other people who can't see 4RMUND's answer, the 1280 works, but "in a really dark room you can see a slightly bigger projection space. You can see it better in darker scenes. But if there is some sort of light source nearby it is barely/not noticeable." I'll probably try to find a 1272, then, but it's good to know the 1280 works too. I really don't understand why the aliexpress sellers think that the 1280 is the correct chip for this projector.
Great video but one question as its dripping in the pan behind the fridge where does the water go?? Or do you have to empty that pan alot?
Thank you for the video! I had the same problem, intermittent puddle of water on the left front of the fridge. I knew it wasn't the ice maker since I turn the ice maker off for 48 hours. I used a long thin plastic zip tie, about 12", to unclog the drain pipe in the back of the freezer. Thank you again!
Ghetto!
I think you’re awesome! But I can’t even remove the glass cover to my fan. Any hints about that? Someone threw the owners manual away.
Thank you! I have the same model, and the fan was LOUD. The first time I took everything apart, I just greased the motor shaft and that seemed to work for a while. I did not know that one could oil the area AROUND the bearings. Did that the other day and the motor is very quiet now. Thanks again for the great video ;-)
Doesn’t the hot tub egg need to breathe ? Without any ventilation it would seem that would damage it no?
The insulation over the pump will cause it to over heat and at best sort out or worse catch fire!
How!! It's summer here and 104 outside so there's no way it's to hot in that box they don't need cool air to run lol
@@oliverross8788 it will cause the Pump to overheat, not the pool. The pump (think of a computer that has an internal fan that kicks in periodically to cool its motor down) needs to be able to breath so it doesn't overheat
@@mariacermola3835if you had it really snug but the way she has it no, there's still enough room for the heat to escape and the cool air to enter....it can definitely breathe
I’m having hard time to put plate cover back on
The glass or the actual motor assembly?
Tough to believe she never showed how to get it off and on. Most important thing.
This video was very helpful. We also used a turkey baster with hot water to irrigate the inside of freezer where drain was and within minutes we had water dripping correctly into the drain pan underneath the fridge. Thank you for the helpful video!
My fridge is the same. Having the same problem. Will check this over the weekend. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully it's an easy fix also.
Thank you so much for you’re video !
Please Make A Video of you removing the cover, I can’t get it off.
That’s the biggest thing needed. NOT ALL THIS OTHER STUFF. I couldn’t watch it. Just the camera wiggling and focusing on her instead of the fan is too much. She should have started by showing how the cover gets taken off.
@@RioJudy I Figured It Out, I went to my tool box and Got Out My Trusty Little Mirror On A Telescoping Handle And Got It Up In There And I Could See How The Cover hangs, You Push It Up Out Of The Hangers And Slide It Over Till It's Out Of The Hangers, It Was Real Easy Once You See How It's Hanging In There And Once It's Off You Can Really See How It Hangs And How Easy It Is To Put It Back Up And Take It Off Again.
Dr HM, I really wanted to see how you change the bulbs.
Where are the links to these producs? Thanks.

Waiting for amazon to deliver 4-person intex soa. In north texas. Last year I really goofed - left it on the carport, not pluggedin. I figured so much water it wouldn't freeze. I forgot about the pipes and inner workings of the motor. Of course it broke. With this new one I am going use all your suggestions so it will be 104 all winter. This way i can use it!
How did you remove the glass...that's what I am looking for
Me too
Me Three
With this model, you basically push up on the glass, which releases it from the catches on the frame. Then pull straight out.To replace, push the glass back in (keep it level) and then let it drop back down into plce
Do you know the model number for replacing the Dan motor? Thanks
DW-715 - Good luck finding one cheap. One surplus place I found wanted $100.00 for the motor - I would have rather thrown out the whole thing and just buy a new unit from Broan or NuTone
Where are the links you mentioned you would post?
I had a similar problem with my Frigidaire freezer and with your investigative help, I fixed it! Thank You for taking time to share this with us!
Hello mommy
Did this work?
Update please
