Semi-Crystalline vs. Amorphous Resins | Polymeric Materials Series
Do you wonder why some plastic parts melt when heated, while others don’t? Or why some plastics dissolve in acetone, while nail polish remover bottles aren’t affected by it? This series will explain why polymeric materials can exhibit a wide range of properties, and show the pros and cons of each material type.
In this video, you will learn how semi-crystalline resins, which are characterized by ordered arrangement of polymer chains, differ from amorphous resins, which are characterized by random entanglement of polymer chains.

Very informative and detailed
liking the video wasn't enough. Thank you for sharing this great video
A really nice video. I can now look into it more deeply.
What THERMOSET is used for the case or housing of a TIMEX or ARMITRON WATCH?
Very nice informative video. But did not discuss about cold crystallization peak.
How does one calculate the Renolds number
This video is really so much helpful. Thanks Madison group.
pack out? the term is pack out?
This is a really good video for learning the basics of plastics injection. Thank you for this awesome and well made video !
Awesomeeeeee
Excellent
Does Q Stand for shot volume flow rate which includes Part and runner sprue or just part volume rate? Video says shot size/fill time.
Q stands for volumetric flow rate - for example, CC/sec or cu. in /sec. The molding machine settings determine the flow rate, but may be restricted by the sprue, runners and mold cavity. Shot size is the volume of everything being molded in that shot, including sprues/runners and cavity. Some molding machines can control shot size - a metered shot.
Thanks a lot for the information.
How to control cycle time and defect with doe
Beautifully explained each step
can you give us the differents types of hotrunner
😄
Thank you so much
Thank you
Thank you
NIce basic video!
Can a HDPE homopolymer have different monomers besides ethylene in it's manufacture? Different companies have different properties for HDPE homopolymers, which is the origin of my question.
Could you give me the specs of the instrument displayed at min 2:10?
Can u please tell me what is the main reason of thermal gate block issue even after using Virgin material
hello .. i have one graph which is very different
Огромное спасибо за обучающий материал!)
This video was immensely helpful, thank you.
Would like to see more data on mold fill. Mainly laminar v turbulent flow.
Injection molding is almost always laminar flow. The viscosity of molten plastics is super high, and prevents turbulent flow.
Great video
Thank you for this video
This was so helpful and explain exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you!
the red bar on the presentation obstructed the youtube timeline bar, not that important but kinda annoying nice
I really like your video, I was wondering what material generated the TGA graph you used in the results interpretations section?
Thank You
thank
Awesome summary of basics for understanding and interpretation and applications. Thanks a lot!
Greetings from Brazil. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you. I always like your educational videos 😊
