    Belissimo filme de 1976. Filmado na região de Trás-os Montes região que conheço muito bem. Fazer um filme desta envergadura sem os apoios que hoje qualquer filme, ou documentário tem, foi um trabalho árduo de muitos milhares de kilometros, para apresentarem a verdade nua e crua de uma região sempre afastada de Lisboa, ou Porto. Sei do trabalho do realizador e sua esposa, aos filmes, que deixaram como obra viva. Antonio Reis sabia o que queria, era puro nas suas obras, não se deixava comprar pelo sistema da altura nem antes. Ele e sua esposa contemplavam-se como um espelho. Um pensava , outro concordava, Parabéns por este filme e outros. Grande filmaço como dizem os brasileiros.

    Always enjoy the juxtaposition between the music and image an artist creates and the way they actually are and look in reality. At first, I wouldn't have guessed that James Murphy essentially *was* LCD Soundsystem, but when he speaks you can really pick-up on what a deep dude he actually is. Deep-sea diver, that one.

      @Gab1s16 5 лет назад

      A___Tailor I like how he put it in the interview with Lars ulrich he said everyone else has their own projects.. and they are theirs. LCD Soundsystem is his. It’s his music his format the way he wants it to sound and feel. And his friends play it the way he wants it to be. That’s truly the great thing about it... it was never supposed to be a thing to begin with... it was just a group of friends playing a couple of shows back in 2002... and some how some way it turned into LCD Soundsystem. But it’s still just that.. a group of friends playing music together having a good time. With lyrics that actually mean something.

    Peckinpah mastered both Ford & Hawks in "Ride the high Country", funny how Hawks thought Sam was about "effects" in "Bunch". Being this non-intellectual is pretty flat. Reality of Peckinpah was way ahead & way over Hawks'. Pretty dumb thing thinking you did the smartest option. Sam wasn't like that towards them as masters. He accepted that with grace & honesty. Also not understanding what "High Noon" is about...dear. And having that absolutely ridiculous fist fight at the end of onliest real realism attempt - "Red River" (hysteric girl stopping it? And HE talks about realism?! Professionals? Just who are guys from "Wild Bunch" - amateurs?). You were good towards really great, old man - but you also were dumb(ed) by pretty basic & naive.

    • @rmGuera
      @rmGuera 9 лет назад

      Seth Lewd How far then? Why? Elaborate.

    • @sethlewd8125
      @sethlewd8125 9 лет назад

      rmGuera When you say "mastered" them, to me, you're implying that he surpassed what they were already good at. Ride the High Country is not even close to what Hawks thought was entertaining, as he explains here. To give you an example. Ride the High Country is many times mawkish and boring. If you listened closely in this interview you'd understand that's the exact opposite of what Hawks likes and does for his movies.

    • @rmGuera
      @rmGuera 9 лет назад

      Seth Lewd I think that's the very point. It's about being believable in what the objective of the story is. This is why I wrote about "Red River" & it's ridiculous ending to such an incredible movie priorly. Up till than it was believable but Hawks obviously wants it "entertaining". And maybe for the price of entertainmet (like pop corn for Ch sake) - well, being believable is what "Ride the HC" is - no matter if you like it or it bores you, it's coherence (menaning - he adequately finishes what he started) is above many things Hawks (in this case less Ford) even aimed. All in all Hawks is about charm & liking (which I respect) and Sam is about essence & search of it. Meaning: no matter how good or charming you are, level of that can't reach search for essence. But you must be really good at it & sam was in spades. Maybe "Red River" ending IS good for Hawks, his heroes don't really mean what they do - as I said - hysterical girl talks them out of it. All the realtion (real life) between them was just a play, just entertainment, as you put it. Not saying fatality is the only answer, but if (as Hawks is) you're "essentially" tough - it is about the life's answer to that. And your conclusion when facing it. In (too many of) Hawks' movies - they "don't mean it" at the end. Like him, I suppose - he can't accept (understand?) "High Noon" idea, for Ch sake. Charming old man, but... Maybe "To have & have not" is best equilibrated on that aspect in all his movies. Great rhythm (it's where he is incredible, really, difficult to surpass), fun characters & flirts with realism in superb way. Staying at the same level from start to end. Sam ment it. And in more than one movie - Ford also. Howks is not (doesn't want to or not capable of) dealing & accepting consequences of what he put in his movies. His movies are mostly great + great fun, but ridiculous in finalizing (understanding) their premisses. Maybe he simply couldn't. Nice place to be, tho. Sorry for the length, I tried my best (...)

    • @sethlewd8125
      @sethlewd8125 9 лет назад

      rmGuera "It's about being believable in what the objective of the story is." I don't know understand you. "he can't accept (understand?) "High Noon" idea" Yeah, he doesn't like that the sheriff is an unprofessional "wet chicken". I can understand that. You don't have to see eye to eye with Hawks, but his movies do end well. I don't think its fair to say Peckinpah has mastered Hawks since his style is not remotely close to Hawks'. He simply tells different stories.

      I might suggest that "live" does not equal "live video on RUclips" (although I think this video is great, certainly not shockingly bad ...) LCD might be the best live band of the last decade or so. You have to actually see them live to understand.
