Alfred is quite good. And I do rather enjoy his sympathetic stories about women. He was a misogynistic, I feel. And some of his stories about women are quite repellant. Other of his stories about men in the tropics have a certain sameness after a while. But this one was quite refreshing.

I love this author. This is the 2nd story I've read of his where the main character is an older woman with an adoring younger beau.I like the way he shows the inner beauty of the women and doesn't allow them to be made a fool of. Excellant stuff.

This poohbah of a writer was obsessed with women's age and appearance and considered himself such a catch at any age but his own skin was so much like a reptile's that he was nick-named lizard not only for that but for his other characteristics as well.
