'Life's A Take' by Red Mitchell. 'A little blues by my great hero, and idol, the bass player Red Mitchell...Apart from being probably the greatest jazz bass player ever, he was a really prolific and interesting songwriter, and sometimes with words, sometimes without. He wrote this little blues and it's a quirky little thing.' Performed by the Simon Woolf Trio: Simon Woolf, bass; Andy Panayi, te...

Made the gun for the Jackal this fella
Both the score and vocals really drag in this production which makes it less enjoyable. I stopped watching 5 minutes into it.
one of the most beautiful songs i've heard the past couple of years
Alas, the introductory remarks are, for me, awkward and tiresome-- especially as they wear on, and on.
😡g**d
Best gospel movie I’ve ever seen. Wow.
I can’t believe the guy who made Salò made this
A rather jumbled trailer, but it fits the mood of the story.
Hello, unable to watch this and it is apparently 'corrupted' by adds and something entirely different. What happened?
Try again... the video seems OK at our end. I can send you another link if required.

22:55 in Paul Ingram says "Our politics is broken. So much so that we have come to imagine that politics is defined by confrontation". I get what he's saying, but I disagree that this necessarily means it's "broken". In Australia we have imho one of the best electoral systems in the world, especially with so-called "compulsory voting" -- although it's a secret ballot, so the only compulsory element is that you should as a responsible citizen attend the local polling place and cast a ballot. The vast majority of Bills that pass through our parliaments do so with unanimous consent. The reason Modern Representative Democracy (MRD) actually WORKS is because most people agree about most things most of the time. However it's where we disagree that makes life interesting. And of course that's all that's ever reported in the news ("If it bleeds, it leads"!!!) How we handle those disagreements is what's important. The House of Commons has two red lines down the centre, separating His Majesty's loyal Government from His Majesty's loyal Opposition. The distance apart is a SYMBOLIC two broad swords. This means we can clash swords (and make sparks fly!) but we cannot mortally wound each other, so put the swords away and get on with arguing your case. i.e. the case for "truth" Yes, we always WANT to find a spirit-of-the-meeting where we wish to agree on everything. But this is not always possible. As I am also wont to say: If we are to live in The Age of Reason, ipso facto we MUST live in the Age of Dispute, because reason alone can give us valid and yet opposing answers. e.g. my "holy trinity" of democracy is: abortion, voluntary euthanasia, capital punishment. All three are life-and-death matters, and all three have valid reasons to prescribe or proscribe. Ergo, eternal "debates", which can ONLY be resolved politically, and essentially, only for that generation. Future generations may overturn decisions that have been handed down to them. Parliamentary debate is a peaceful way forward. As a pacifist, I swoon with delight at the symbolism of those two red lines. They are my "holy of holies". Metaphor is the language of the spirit. For more information of what I think (and want) see my two vidoes: ruclips.net/video/y1CFomzFZyI/видео.html (1 minute) & ruclips.net/video/-2WZH1rX3tE/видео.html (3 minutes)
thank you for your interesting comment. do I understand correctly that you deem a parliamentary debate as s peaceful way forward? but does that not bypass the majority of people? we all have to make decisions continually - choose between right & wrong, light & darkness, unconditional love & fear, compassion & ignorance, respect & condemnation ... MPs cannot do this for anyone but themselves ...
Yes collective response now!
His logic is a part of Putin's propaganda. What he is saying is we should betray and give up democratic Ukraine to the Russian dictator. It's like he would say that we should have stopped fighting Hitler during WW2 in order to save lives.
An excellent evening. 😊 I do hope that Jeremy will not experience any #ReputationalDamage as a result of hanging out with a bunch of Quaker Socialists 😇

A clever, sometimes difficult, woman.
i'm loving this schizophrenic portrayal of Jesus. i don't use that term as insult, i have been diagnosed with it and think it fits very well. the flat affect Jesus has in this film is very believable for the figure, also how he has emotional responses only to very specific things that seem disconnected from the image he otherwise portrays (like anger at the temple, joy at the imagination of children, and OMG that faltering face when his mother and siblings arrive, like a glimpse through a crack in the facade), or how he so often says something enigmatic and then immediately turns and walks away. throughout the whole thing it's like he is on his own trip and the people around him are part of a game he's playing, even though his actions and words are coming from a place of deep love that needs no reciprocity. that's how it is for a lot of schizophrenic people, the world we are in is so different to the world other people inhabit, and our inner child is longing for love and freedom among all people, but we can only express it from a distance that they can't reach. this film makes so much sense of the parables for me. i reckon if Jesus were alive today they wouldn't be crucified, they'd be put into a psychiatric ward.
Pretty sure he’s still alive, God isn’t known for being dead
@@deathbydank3206 i suppose i meant "if literally anyone speaking and acting like Jesus were around today"
Very nostalgic and so beautiful it hurts

I'm sure the instrumentalists are brilliant but I'd love to hear this a cappella
Es una Gran Obra de Arte... y de Arte Religioso...
not sure why the mum looks like 80 when shes supposed to be 40
The older Mary was played by the director's mother.
wild shit to watch while high
love this fellow :)
This awesome fellow made me dinner tonight!
The best Christ movie I have ever seen. Better than the Passion of the Christ. CLOSEST TO REALITY.
"Neo Realism" it is called this style of filming. A style that fits well to the sentiments of the folks of the mid XXth century
Hi ED. Loved that song. Sitting on top of the world. Have you got that song in your shop. I’ll buy it if it’s available. Thanks Norm. Western Australia
Great concert, thanks Tim. Definitely worth following the Vimeo link to the whole concert!
Brilliant. I started reading Fisk in the 1979 Afghan war, and sorely miss his voice today on Ukraine and Israel.
I truly appreciate you uploading the original film. I had unknowingly rented an English dubbed colorized version - a sacrilege of the lowest order - forty-five minutes in I had to stop because I couldn't bear it. Thank you for the opportunity to see this masterpiece with its glorious black and white images and beautiful Italian dialogue. 🙏
?
Is there a difference of this original and the English dubbed colorized version?
@@Bossbenelli The colorized version was shorter by several minutes.
This is the strangest trailer I have ever seen.
The film is a masterpiece. The trailer at least gives you an idea of its period authenticity.
👍👌👏👏👏
@58:55 How is mother suddenly so old when she was just a very young woman when she gave birth to Jesus?
Oh look it’s Simon Woolf who fraudulently opened PayPal dispute and then lied and lied about it finally leaving negative feedback which was also a lie. Liar liar pants on fire Simon
A stunningly beautiful film on its' visual merits alone.
As a mediocre tin whistle player I am in awe of the beauty of your playing this piece. I was told that this was the last musical composition O'Carolin played before he died. Your playing of this piece is poignant and reflects the circumstances of the last moments the author of the music. I will attempt to copy your playing style knowing that I can't copy the beauty of your performance but, by perhaps approaching it, can reflect in a miniscule amount of what I felt hearing you play. pax. πaul Lederer 3.14
Fascinating interview.
i usually don't mind and can even enjoy age gap romances, but the kiss scene in this movie is one of the creepiest things i've seen on film played as romance. she was around 16 when this movie came out and he was around 50 🤮
I agree - I just watched the above and my first thought was that the actor is far too old!

Intimate shots of Bleach playing the piano, amazing
"The art of sculpting notes." Great phrase! Absolutely fascinating interview. One of the most informative talks on jazz and music in general I've ever heard.
No matter how much time passes, Biebs Eckel is a classic
Incredible. So complex, but beautiful, colourful music. Thank you.
