Team HOOP TACT for the win. Could you do it more efficiently with a different setup? Shrug. Probably. Idc. Everyone plays Octopath a little different. General strategy: Breaking arms on turn 1 and killing on turn 2 (with Hikari) guarantees he gets trapped by Binding Shadow, protects him from Wave of Nothingness. Burning Osvald's abilities guarantees Ochette and Partitio are left to get a clean break. Hikari is stuck with Reflective Veil, making it hard to feed him a Forbidden Elixir, but if he is over full health, he can still manage to get close to 400k, and Osvald, Ochette, Castti, or Temenos can help it along. Boss phases at 60%, not 50% (checked by tracking damage over 15 boss kills). Being quick means HOOP can survive Heaven's Vengeance via Reflective Veil. Here it is a toss-up. Either have HOOP party soak up WoN, allowing Agnea to set up Temenos with Sealticge. Or, if turn order sucks, have TACT soak up WoN, setting up Hikari to deal with the remaining 600k health. There is a lot of flexibility because many characters can contribute damage, and even Throné has her Aeber unlocked. Even without Speed Up, she still hits for 97k. From then on... if turn order works out, re-apply Sealticge for AoE Prayer of Plenty. Or set up Dohter's on Throné. Try for one burn...or don't. As long as the boss can be prevented from taking more than 4 actions every 3 turns, it seriously makes phase 2 more survivable. 6 characters can do high DPS and phase 2 is only 800k. 1 burn is always more satisfying, but sometimes turn order doesn't work. Sometimes Condemning Bolt hits the same character thrice and they're dead, even with 9,999 HP. Gotta adapt. Also no glitch cheese because that ain't no fun at all. And this fight is honestly top-tier thrills. Really fun

This video's a bit old now, but anyone interested in this fight should check out the harder and more intense versions in OT2 version 1.1.0's "Extra Battles". Well worth tackling.

Castti hits 3 times with Strengthened, Diffuse Blusterbloom attacks. Alrond remains to cast "Treasure Sniff" for 1 turn after summoning (twice per summon, total; 3 summons). When using Aelfric's Blessing, all 6 of Alrond's actions can be compressed down to 3 turns. The trick is landing them at the appropriate moments while also providing icy pursuit for breaking Galdera....and getting lucky. Dear lord. I've farmed from 83 to 99 twice and that is NOT an even 1 in 6 chance. Definitely a weighted die, even if it is a VERY generous die compared to Bewildering Grace. It seems that Team HOOT gets their exp from the Omniscient Eye. So I think the only way to farm all 8 to 95 would be to spam bewildering grace in phase 1 and pray for good Alrond RNG on phase 2. But that's a fraction of a fraction. Way too low to run this fight repeatedly to get it. If someone does land that footage, that'll be amazing.

I'll follow this setup blindy and see what happens! I fight True Vide already 90 times and just today I managed to get to 2nd phase, but my setup for this phase was so inappropiate that I got smacked hard 😂😂 TY FOR THIS VIDEO!! But I should ask... Where you get Grails of Life? Are they farmable? Almighty Olives either?

And also how is Temenos conjuring ice & summoning Alrokd on the same turn?

How is Castii hitting all foes with 4 Blusterblooms and 1 Strengthening Serum at 13:43 ?

I played the whole game without using castii weaponized concoct. I feel like I missed half the game.

Amazing skill and strategy man! I fucking hate this boss. Wasn't able to beat it on the first game nor this one. Lvl 99 with best possible equips and items. Jobs and strategy...still whatever bullshit move from either him or the souls or whatever 1 hit kill skill it pulls out of his ass always finds a way to kill me and ruin my day. HELL i never even got past the first phase..EVER😂...never beat it. Maybe one day.❤

OT2 is overall a better game. It improves on the original in most regards. I do think the OST in 1 was better though.

I think the phase 2 of this fight is kinda badly deigned. Nearly every strat (mine included) for phase 2 involves blasting the boss to death before it can do anything. If Galdera starts to actually get a turn it's GG.

When I fought em I hit the 99,999 x 3 and it was SO satisfying

Aeber's Reckoning is based on speed, so wouldnt you deal more damage if you have a speed buff also?

What I do like about temenos heavenly shine is besides being able to increase with alphead wisdom, it crits as well, so if you add the peacout strunt, alpheand wisdom, Inventors critical scope and max BP this shit fucking NUKES, mind you add the deal more damange to increase the damage cap adn your guaranteed to solo most of the harder bosses in the game 😂😂😂 Bro says fighting is not what he does yet he has a literally a "Fuck it NUKE THE BITCH" move like bruh 😂

Finally killed mine a few days ago. Had to use temenos in phase two and max damage the boss with the mega forbidden skill. Turn order is SO important in this fight and RNG sucks.
