Do you have a video or tips on buying a used gammill. How to turn it on and do a sample sew. I have never used a longarm and I really want a gammill. Do you turn on the computer first or the machine?
@@DJGASAP I don’t have a video for start up but Gammill has a great video series that is excellent for first time users. But to answer your question, I turn on the red/green switches first and then the computer. If you buy a used machine the sellers should show you how to operate it. If you purchase a used machine from Gammill the Gammill will show you how to operate it. Either way I would recommend the new owner training program. It is very informative.
Wow! 😮But you did a great clean demo. 😊
When you get done. It will be beautiful.
@@rbebut1 We enjoy this kind of stuff 😎
Wow, you are right, it’s a small space. But I’m sure you can re-vamp this bathroom to make it more functional for both of you. I look forward to seeing what you end up with. Enjoy this journey ❣️
Would you normally trim denim selvedges or leave as was done? Would serging raw edges after trimming selvedges leave more bulk?
@@sandycampbell6087 I opted to leave the selvage because if cut off the backing would not be large enough. Otherwise I would have serged trimming the selvage off and then pieced together with a one inch seam allowance. The one inch seam allowance allows for enough fabric to press the seams opens without bulk.
Do you know what binding finish client will use for quilt-love this!
@@sandycampbell6087 We are binding with the same denim fabric. Using a wider than usual 2.75 in binding I will add the binding with the serger thus finishing all raw edges and trimming everything at once. I will turn then turn the binding, hold in place with binding clips, and sew down using a # 4 serpentine stitch with my BERNINA.
Great video Valeria
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. This is exactly what I needed to figure out how to get my creative studio on my big screen TV

I also love the micro fiber cloth. I will look into the novus clean and shine. I just learned how to clean my wheels. I use those brushes for painting and I find they leave a lot of bristles behind. Have you found that when using them for dusting?
@@fransak2723 Some of brushes do leave bristles behind. You can look for a better quality brush, or a different brand.
The finished quilt is beautiful and your customer is going to love it! Coincidentally, I'm just starting a Sunbonnet Sue quilt. I've always wanted to do one, and you've really provided me with inspiration! I don't do hand stitching, so there will be none of that, but I'm planning to embellish each one using some of my machiine's decorative stitches.
You did a beautiful job! The quilt turned out gorgeous! I have a soft spot for sunbonnet Sues. 🌷
Wow,beautiful job. You should be very proud.
How very beautiful! I love the texture you're achieving. Cant wait to see your finished work.
What an awesome quilt!!!!
Amazing Gurl!
WOW! Excellent job. How wonderful for you!
I grew up in a house like this - it was an extremely difficult home to keep in repair due to its age. I am really feeling for you.
Beautiful. I’m starting one of those and hope it’s a pretty as yours ❤
Wow, That turned out stunning! Love it.

Valerie, what a beautiful project and in such gorgeous colours ❤❤
I love this so much.
Your talent is amazing and makes me tear up. Keep going 😢
Minkie. Thank you for the tip
1. Measure your take up leader. Divide by 2. Get a sharpie and mark the center of your take up leader with a 1/2 inch line perpendicular to the edge. Now you can fold your quilt in 1/2. pin the mid point and match to the center leader sharpie mark. 2. Do not be afraid to yous 1.5 sewing pins with the steal heads to pin your quilt. The machine will go over them or the needle will shift to the right or to the left. Because these pins are so thin, I have yet to see the pins bend or break or the needle break. 3 buy some 3/8 of 1/4 inch cloth cording. (hardware store). buy 8 curtain stoppers. find something that can be place on the arms of your frame so that you can attach the cording to them. Place the stoppers on to the rope. attache one side of the rope to attachment. unwind the cord to the opposite side of the frame and place the cording onto the other attachment. Here the cord will give you a horizontal ruler to let you know if the quilt is aligned on the horizontal. The stopper are used for marking on the quilt for the verticals and sides of the quilt.
Oh my gosh! I love it. 😮
New to your channel. Great tips even for those of us who don't have a long arm. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! You’re so talented! Beautiful artwork. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work.
Beautiful work! Thank you for the in depth description of the process. I always use a thread net when I use Glide because it tends to fall off the cone and get caught on the spindle. I used 2 threads to make chicken feet on a recent quilt. It turned out great. Never would have thought of doing it if I hadn't seen your previous video. Thanks again!!
@@marciahowe9555 I use thread nets when I have only one spool. When multi-threading the nets can add too much tension so the cup alternative is preferred in this use.
@@ValerieGreenwellQuiltArtistry Makes total sense!!
Beautiful! Thanks so much for the solo cup tip. My thread was breaking last night for that very reason and it's very frustrating. I can't wait to give this a try.
@@esther5333 I should add the solo cups were a quick fix. For a more permanent soloing I’m thinking of adding a hard plastic cup and drilling a hole in the bottom to fit it over the spool pins.
@@ValerieGreenwellQuiltArtistry Thanks Valerie! I'm want to try a triple thread also. So much fun, so little time... God Bless!!
Wow Valorie, just so fascinating! I really never thought about this level of long-arming! Bravo 👏 🎉
Just stumbled across this video and I am so glad I did! This is gorgeous! I especially love the work with thread. Beautiful!
@@technotouhou557 Thank you 😊
You done a great job on the sun bonnet squares the quilt is beautiful 🎉
Val, How many strands of thread are you using? Do you have to change your tension, size of needle?
@@marciahowe9555 when using two threads most of the time no tension adjustment is needed. When using three or more threads I always check some sample stitches to see if any adjustment is needed.
@@marciahowe9555 In this particular instance I was using two threads, no tension adjustment, and a size 19 needle standard
