Eye Of The Storm has been a favorite song and a great source of comfort through many hardships and trials in life. Since my goal is to hopefully offer the same comfort I have felt from this song I have included backing vocals and lyrics so those who are not familiar with the song can find that comfort as well. I found your channel via this video. Your harp work is amazing! I’m just a beginner and I’ve done some guitar/vocal recording on this Zoom R4, but I’m thinking about doing some bass guitar and harmonica songs. Setup would be xlr out from my bass amp and shaker xlr mic direct to Zoom R4. I don’t own a harp mic yet, so what do you think about this setup? Thanks!
Sounds good to me. One great feature of the Zoom R4 is the 32bit float, so if an input is too hot or too low you can normalize and not lose anything. As far as mics for harmonica, I like the Hohner HB52, but I also use a Sennheiser e904 drum mic as well. Many of my harmonica covers are recorded using a Rode NT1A condenser mic. I've had it for years and originally chose it for its sound on vocals.

My Dad could play the marine corp harmonica better than I've ever heard else play...He would play "Under the Double Eagle"..? Lead and rhythm at the same time....I think that way the name of the song...

What you means by a circular tuned Harmonica
It is a tuning that has all the notes of the scale in a blow draw pattern over the entire harmonica.

yes I play by ear. If I have a difficult song or passage I will occasionally tab out a section to learn it. But mainly I learn a song by playing along with the demo version... over and over and over til it feels like I'm singing through the harmonica.

How do you put it in your Daw?
2 ways. You can either hook up a usb data cable and put the R4 into file transfer mode. Or you can remove the micro SD card and attach it to your computer to transfer the individual tracks.

1961 11:30 almost mid nite, we had agreed to part, I was driving my wee morris 8 down the long drive leaving her at her dads door...rain spattered the windscreen then I saw her running down the lawn to cut me off at the gate.. I rolled down the window and she leaned in to kiss me ,rain or tears streaming down her face ...... then she said ...NOW GO........over 50 years ago.... Thanks Dale....

Nicely done! I often give credit to hearing a recording of Shenandoah by Charlie McCoy as the reason I purchased my first harmonica.
I was already playing before I ever heard Charlie McCoy but I always loved his version of Shenandoah and he is the reason I started playing it on harmonica. I believe he played it a my very first SPAH in 2013 where we met.
