BMW CarPlay NO SOUND FIX

The fix for no sound from an android screen install in a e70 BMW X5 with the CIC headunit. I coded using the Bimmer code app on my IOS device and the THOR wifi adapter plugged into the OBD port. The app was approx $80 cad, and the dongle $100. No wiring to AUX needed. Change in coding; CDMM_AUX_HU to aktiv CDMM_BLUETOOTH_AUDIO. to nicht_aktiv CDMM_USB_AUDIO_SINGLE. to nicht_aktiv CDMM_USB_AUDIO...

so useful exactly what went wrong with my car and now I can fix it!!
Wonderfull fixed in 15 mins hardest part was getting the vent off. 2018 GTI
This is a GLORIOUS video!!! You make it look a lot easier than I was fearing it would be!
@@d3w4yn3 thank you for the positive feedback, I’m sure you’ll get through yours, no stress , keep the wrenches turning 👍🏻
This is the best explanation I’ve ever seen
And here I am trying to figure out how to get a magnet in the door jamb to hold that loose lock nut behind the upper hinge to replace that unit. This is smart AF.
Mister esta bien su actividad y se ve que sabe. Saludos
Thanks for the video! $5 deep 10mm and about 10 minutes later it’s fixed
With your directions I did this to my daughter’s 2015 Golf. The dealer quoted her over $500 to fix this problem. I used my trim tools and 10m socket. Total time was less than 20 minutes at a cost of zero. Thanks very much.
@@kirk22221 glad it helped , cheers!
What size Allen bolts are those you used for the side covers?
@@mikejohnson4927 I believe they were m8x1.25 and 35mm length
Mine had this issue suddenly, I was going to call my mechanic, but fortunately, I found this video! I'm going to try fixing myself tomorrow before work. Thank you for this!
Why cant the manufactures pick up on these mods? It cant possibly add that much costs.
@@ahernandez9860 absolutely agree with you. One of those stat situations where they’re still making the sales so they don’t bother
Thanks! Much easier then mk5 and 6
Today, I lifted the rear of the Beetle and rotated one wheel in all gears. When I rotate one wheel, the other turns in the opposite direction at the same speed. However, in neutral and 3rd gear, when I spin one wheel, the other turns much slower. Does this mean that 3rd gear is engaged? If so, how can I disengage 3rd gear without removing the transmission? because i have problem when in neutral and i want to move the car in the garage the engine spins . i shifted gears with no oil in the transmission many times , maybe thats the cause of it
@@sadness3out961 if you have the shifter in neutral but the wheels still attempt to rotate the engine , one of the gears is still selected, going to have to take the nose cone/tailhousing off and look at the selectors
My Beetle’s engine turns when I move the car in the garage, even though it’s in neutral. All gears work, but I have to press the clutch to move it. It’s a project car and not running yet. This problem started recently, about two weeks ago. I swapped in a 1.8T engine and kept the Beetle flywheel. Two years ago, I removed the transmission oil but didn’t refill it, and I’ve been moving the car around the garage without issues until now. Could this problem be due to the lack of oil? Could something have broken because there was no oil? I read on forums that maybe a gear is engaged-how can I check for that? Or do you have an idea of what could be causing this problem?
@@sadness3out961 if you didn’t take apart the trans at all, moving it low speed with no oil shouldn’t be a problem , if there was an issue you’d feel binding in the shifter. Now if you ran the engine for a long time with no oil in the trans , then you could’ve warmed some parts up in there and one of the hubs could’ve friction welded on the shaft . The other thing I’ve heard is if you jam on the shifter too hard you can get the hockey stick stuck under a selector. But In that case you would feel the lack of gear selection in the shifter
@@sadness3out961 lets us know if you got it sorted . Best of luck !
This just started happening to my e-brake within the last week. Planning on tackling this after work today. Thanks for the right-to-the-point video!
Need to get some plastic trim removal tools but then hopefully I can get this done
@@AaronSkone you can, you got this!
@@SyncroMotoring Update: This worked! It was a little bit of a pain, the clip that holds onto both cables kept coming undone just while I was trying to get my socket on the nut, but once I got that reattached and was able to get my socket on well enough, it tightened right down. I wonder what causes the nut to come undone in the first place, but my handbrake has never felt so tight and solid. Thanks for this video!

Did my whole chassis as well. Didnt do the cleaning process as I had my chassis blasted first, but what a great product for the value. Recommend the cavity coater as well down the tunnel and napoleons hat area
@@MrJewrican nice! I did exactly that, emptied a full can of the cavity coater with the spray wand attachment in the tunnel and hat/frame head areas
Looks very similar to POR15. Even the same process… Step 1: Degrease Step 2: Metal Prep/Etch Step 3: Paint Don’t Shake Don’t use directly from the can…pour into another container. Seal the can extremely well. Dries from a chemical reaction rather than evaporation of Volatile Organic Chemicals.
@@gutshotgriz3936 the originators of POR15 sold the company and then created rust seal from what I heard. That’s why it’s so similar and better in some cases. POR15 finish is glossier when dry.
@@SyncroMotoring Thanks for that! 👍 Good to know!

Usually caliper seizing up caused the play, tightening will make it bind on.
That happens aswell, but most of the time it’s the cables that have stretched . A Quick Look to make sure the caliper lever is sitting on the stop while the parking brake is down ,is a good idea 👍🏻
So impressed by this. Thank you for making the video.
MK7 GTI DSG this fix worked perfectly. Thanks big dog! 👊

Looks like this swing-axle was converted from early model gears over to 002 late model gears and 72 case (an excellent choice in my opinion!). I look forward to the rest of the build! Subd
This being a 73 it makes sense it’s an oddball one , but maybe someone had been in there before . Good to know, cheers!
