What's the Lore to this i want to know. I tried to look it up but it was completely different to the trailers. It was talking about a former Yuktobanian territory turned empire fighting against a former Osean colony turned United Kingdom that takes place in the 1980s.

It would be awesome to have recordings of the missions, assuming they even exist. Such an intriguing storyline set up and yet those who miss the yearly Summer Skies events can't see the resolution to any of it.

The sincerity of what this movie is trying to illustrate is so succinctly done, to the point where it can provide a personal shift to one's understanding of the idea of society and order, and what it means to participate in a society, not for good or ill, but as an introspective analysis of why things are as they are. Acknowledgement of the uncomfortable sensation one feels with this movie is a healthy attitude. It helps that the visuals are breath-taking, and they do a phenomenal job of putting you, the viewer, within this world.

this is one of my favorite videos on the entire platform, I have no idea why it just hits and takes me back to a whole different time. Watching night vision on CNN seeing the world change on live tv. No idea what I am seeing as a child.

first watched patlabor 2 4 years ago, and it is still my favorite movie of all time. There are Hollywood movies i will watch whenever they are on, but I go out of my way to watch this movie. one of the most cerebral and thought provoking movies ever made. AND still many things that are relevant to today. The just war/unjust peace speech from the original dub still lives rent free in my head.

My cvp teacher,she was in restore hope and even got a chance to see some of those rangers before they went on their fatal mission. She was one of those teachers with the cutesy cat memes and a chipper personality, however tucked away was a grad class of her EOD unit. Dealing with a famine is one thing but that and war,when she mentioned it, only to me twice...that was the first time I saw a 1000 yard stare on someone in person...

Watched Patlabor 2 for the first time 5 years ago when I first started my career, and i haven't stopped thinking about it since. Considering world events, I back for the "Just War, Unjust Peace" speech, to realize a movie that's 2 years older than I am discussed/depicted all the bullshit I've seen and heard about while deployed overseas. And all the troubles we're walking into. God damn this movie isn't just amazing anime, its amazing cinema. If I could experience this in a theater, maybe then I could die satisfied. Thank you for this tribute, the OST is out of this world, I often listen to Unnatural City when I need to focus. You're right, every frame is a painting. 1:12 The snowfall is such a vibe, I wish I could stay there
