We are the Church of England Parish Church of Holt in North Norfolk. The Church is home to a vibrant community of faith which is committed to the worship of God and serving our neighbour in need. The Church is open every day for public worship and private prayer and to welcome visitors. Would have loved to have attended this one. I love the lute and I have heard all these lads and they are all fabulous. The wrong harmonium voice on the keyboard did not affect “Where ere you Walk” too much. It was probably sung to such in many a Victorian drawing room.

Oh wow! Beautiful, and the acoustics really work with both instruments.
Just like to say that it shows how much more a transcription can reveal about a well known piece of music - in this case the Ravel Piano Concerto . I say transcription because of course the upright piano (very appropriate here as it does not drown out the delicate solo part) is playing the orchestral part. In this transcription one hears more of the percussiveness of the piece, and dare one say Rachmaninov muscularity here (13.35 onwards and 15.44). There is a lovely photo of Rachmaninov and Ravel sitting together outside a French Parisian Cafe to be found on You Tube. Of course the style is different, but with this performance the important solo parts of the orchestra are not so dominant and reveals another side to the piece which is powerful and exciting and shows what an extraordinary piece it is!
