Six years later, and you're still helping students. Thanks so much for this video. I was completely lost with the previous video, but your examples here make comprehension so much easier.
I'm grateful for your comment and appreciate you taking the time to make a comment. Perhaps I should update the videos to make them more modern; however, the content is still the same and as long as it helps others, that's what counts :)
Beautiful sharing friend ❤
What a nice content
thanks mam for providing us a great video
I’m glad you found this helpful!
thank you so much 🙏
You're welcome, I am glad you found this helpful!
Great explanation
Hello, your video was recommended to me on my RUclips timeline. Thank you for doing all these videos because I really need these right now because I'm taking College and Advanced Algebra 💙
@Miguel-gz6tz, I’m so glad you found my video helpful. Facilitating College Algebra and Precalc are passions of mine. I believe in you, you got this!!
second view
so helpful as an introduction to college math classes
I’m so glad you found this useful!
why is there two people talking
I apologize for this. I’ll have to take the video down and redo the audio. Thank you for bringing this to my attention!
Do you have an example topic sheet?
Hi, Cheri, no, I do not, I created this video for my Ed Tech class (they are pre-service educators) and I have them create a topic sheet using the skills we gained from our lessons on designing with powerpoint. With respect to ideas for prompts, I allow them to choose which grade level and content area they want to focus their fliphunt on. I prefer not to give them examples as then they tend to believe that is what I am looking for rather than tailoring it to their ideas. Do you have a content area/grade you are thinking about using this in? I could help brainstorm some ideas with you!
5:09 What does “covering them up” mean? You say the answer is 9. What happened to the other two tiles on top? Trying to understand the process. I have never heard of algebra tiles until today.
I replaced x with 4 units since, creating 2 groups of 4 so I can evaluate. Please note that in the description box I state that the answer is “9” when evaluating; however that was a mistake, the answer is 11. Since 3 + 2 groups of 4 = 3 + 2(4) = 3 + 8 = 11. There are 11 units total.
@@harmonyrichman Thank you very much! I’m long done with college, but I will introduce this method to kids in my family. I wish I had known about algebra tiles when I was a youth. It would have made math more digestible for me. I appreciate your video!
Awesome lesson very easy to understand, thank you
Glad you found this useful!
Hello, I have a question. If the left bottom counter is a negative number. Do I multiple it has negative three or positive three?
If the very bottom left element is a negative number, this value would need to be a zero to solve. Depending upon what other row you are using to add to this row with the negative, you may or may not need to multiply by a negative. Do you have an example we could look at together?
Best video on finite maths I've seen so far. Currently going unappreciated.
I'm so glad you found this helpful, my learners also find that the method of labeling works the best as we navigate venn diagram shading.
Where do you put the questions they need to answer?
Hi, Laurie, I don't always have a question prepared for them. Usually, I present a clue and from the clue they have to deduce what the lock is. It's not always black and white. Feel free to email me and I can send you a few examples of ones I've created. harmony.venburg@gmail.com
Thank you very much. Since its close to Christmas could you show us how to make christmas clipart
Wow thank you so much. My teacher tries her hardest but zoom is not her friend and its really hard to follow along. I may actually pass my quiz now.
Hello, Lanna, I hope you were able to have a successful quiz and I am so glad you found my lesson for my learners helpful! Please reach out if I can help in any way! Good luck with the remainder of your semester!
Thank you! This was very helpful.
Hi Harmony! I had never thought about using Power Point for paper crafting, but I believe you have certainly given me some Scope for the imagination (even though I have NEVER EVER USED POWER POINT IN MY LIFE! I have also checked the Coffee Shop Blog and Chantalia Designs. They are both excellent sources for paper crafting etc...I really liked your video by the way!! And Thanks!!!
Hello, Michele, PowerPoint has so much flexibility OUTSIDE of just presentation. I've been dabbling in Google Slides more and I am find this to be highly flexible as well, just in a different modality. I'm glad you found it useful!

Hi...I’m back. I would love to see some videos on how to upload products onto Teachers Pay Teachers. Thx.
So glad you're visiting again :) I do have to say that I do not show my learners how to create a TPT sellers account nor show them how to upload and make $ on TPT. I do this for a couple of reasons, I want to empower my learners to create their own materials, not use TPT as a means for creating their own future curriculum. Often times those on TPT have created materials they are using for their own classroom to fit the needs of their own learners, it's not a one size fits all world here. Therefore, my learners need to create materials for their learners with their specific needs. Also, purchasing on TPT can get quite expensive, so by providing my learners with the tools to create their own gives them that ability to personalize and save. In a pinch, TPT does offer high quality resources, but shouldn't be the only item used. I do not discourage my learners from selling on TPT; however, allow them to learn the in's/out's of selling on TPT with their own time, I do not spend classroom time on this particular item.
Harmony Richman Thanks for your response and explanation.
Thanks for the great information. I hope that you will do more instructional videos on using Powerpoint. Oh, I see more videos. I will continue to watch!
veryblessed so glad you’ve found these useful, feel free to offer suggested videos you’d like to see.
Great information
Randy ladbury when I was putting my thoughts together, I realized it really was a lot of good reminders of what we already do, just a good landing page for them!
