Milos Raonic: The Fastest Serve in the West
Просмотров 75 тыс.13 лет назад
Highlights of the SAP championship final, which Raonic won to receive his first ATP title. Raonic served frequently in the 140s, topping out at 149mph. The day before he served a 151mph ball that went wide. I didn't get a shot of the 149mph serve (the 12th fastest ever), but I did get a photo of the serve speed display which is on my Flickr.

This was the first time I heard this song and I kind of prefer this version over the album version. Great song! It starts out dark but the lights come on when Emily starts singing. A fellow Metric fan who was at the show gave me his tape of the show....please PM me so I can properly credit you. I still want to see your tape of the Nov. 2004 show (the best Metric show I've ever been to).

    I happened to be on a business trip staying in a hotel right across the street and had no idea this was scheduled until I checked in. I was able to watch from my hotel room window before I left for the airport to go home. Had no prior implosion experience but I have been fascinated ever since. One of the most amazing experiences of my life!

    This is what the CT nutters conveniently "forget" when they rant about controlled demolitions All the weeks and months of preparation that would have to be done, and how it would be impossible to do it in a building that was *in use* by tens of thousands of people, in a city with millions of people. "Oh, those chaps drilling holes into the walls of the WTC, laying miles of cables everywhere, placing explosives, and removing support pillars? Don't mind them, just do your job".

  • @charlessmith263
    @charlessmith263 6 лет назад

    1st wave of explosions - were shape-charge dynamite detonations crippling the strongest pillars in the structure. Then, the 2nd wave of explosions ripped apart the stuff in the black Kevlar covering - wiping out the rest of the building - and IT WAS ALL OVER IN 14 SECONDS!

  • @charlessmith263
    @charlessmith263 6 лет назад

    I am guessing CDI, pre-implosion, was also vacuuming and containing any asbestos dust or silica dust and removed it according to governmental regulations, safely from that imploded building before the actual detonation, because there would be some dust, there will be spectators seeing the implosion too at close proximity who will be getting the post-implosion dust. Seeing a building like this imploded is great to watch but a demolition company is careful not to create a health hazard if asbestos and silica dust issues are not resolved before you press that detonator and the building goes boom as it goes down on itself.

      That’s my point too - there’s no way in hell to secretly prep a building for explosive demolition. Now there’s the condo that fell in Florida and they’re claiming the same thing there.

    This is a very good version of the song, I agree with an opinion that it is better then album version. I like album version, but this is deeper, i'm jealous to people who heard it at the concert. My dream is Metric come to Moscow, but, probably, I should fly to some country in North America instead to see them, they are not famous in Russia at all.

    • @safe-keeper1042
      @safe-keeper1042 6 лет назад

      CTers typically have next to no actual knowledge about the stuff they rant about. I bet they imagine Jews tip-toeing around inside the WTC hiding bundles of dynamite sticks in closets and drawers.

    You're really a psycho, you know that? The WTC buildings weren't imploded you moron. If you watched this video and read up on what it takes to prepare a building for implosion you would realise it's very complicated and extremely lengthy for a small building like this one. Prepping WTC 1 or 2 for implosion would have required hundreds of people over months removing key supports, WHILE THE BUILDING WAS OCCUPIED. Use some logic.

    • @rocketmunkey1
      @rocketmunkey1 6 лет назад

      Yet you think it can fall down all on its own with zero resistance because of fire defying the laws of physics. Heres a clue the building wasn't occupied obviously, Its a matter of absolute fact the towers were struggling to find occupants their entire life only 11 companies registered as occupants of the North towers as of 93 and ZERO occupants in the south tower, the 93 bombings were used as a pretext to get the final companies out of the North Tower They never returned ! You doubt that ? well wheres the footage of the claimed 50,000 office workers leaving the building then ?

    @SPBTsnyder Which law school did you learn this from? The usual rule is you can take anybody's picture in a public place (exceptions for upskirting, downblousing, nude beach etc.) As this is private property, you need the permission of the owner of the property, not the person whose image you are taking. As for 'its just a game' (sic) it is their job.

    @robinafoubister We have the same argument in Australia about Bernard Tomic. People say he is not a 'real Australian' because he was not born here. But like Raonic, Tomic has lived in Australia since he was 3 years old. I don't understand why people would even argue about this? It's completely insulting, the man was raised in Canada, trained in Canada, educated in Canada. I am an Australian, but i was not born here, but for me it's all i know, and if i'm not an Aussie, i don't know what i am.

  • @RRTurbulence
    @RRTurbulence 13 лет назад

    @robinafoubister He might have a Canadian passport, and of course he speaks perfect English, but tell me, how can he be Canadian? Look at his name and last name. Look at his parents. His entire ancestry is in Montenegro. He plays for Canada and you have every right to be proud of him, but HE is not Canadian.

  • @RRTurbulence
    @RRTurbulence 13 лет назад

    @robinafoubister But his name and last name aren't Canadian. He also speaks Serbian with the Montenegrin dialect. He might live in Canada, but he sure as hell isn't Canadian.

    @HappyDesertSeagull Exact same thing happened to me when I filmed the implosion from the grounds of Iolani Palace. The charges went off and I flinched badly, shaking the camera! I recall after the first volley, I thought "oh no, the building didn't fall, it failed" and then the second volley kicked in and I realized the genius of the plan. The dust cloud came down King St, catching everyone by surprise, covering cars in "snow". This is why 9/11 footage looked familiar to me in a way, sadly.
