I believe there is a difference between some sins that this doesn’t quite work for. It’s under the assumption that the people have stopped. There are different phase to go through with repentance. The hardest part is stopping the sin. Some people are addicted to multiple things, all detrimental. There is a saying I heard decades ago that has helped the most with repentance. One thing that caries the most force towards repentance. “Bring me fruits worthy of repentance” so many forget that Jesus did indeed pay for every sin, he gave us wisdom on also bringing forth good fruit. Do the things he has asked, even if you commit sin in the meantime, eventually your good fruits will take up more space in your mind, and less for the bad fruits to take root or grow. This combine with added reassurance from seeing progress , your mind and body will change, it will refine by the spirit of God, soon your appetite to sin will be limited or removed, and the only thing left is good fruits. He does not care how many times we fall, it’s the last time that matters so he can clean you. Be patient and accept your weakness, focus on the good fruits first. Being kind, being positive, visiting and listening to others, service to others. This is the key to repentance

I don’t believe in giving the enemy any credit for the choices we make, because judgment day will come and we cannot point the finger at the enemy and say it was his fault, God will look at us and tell us that he did not force our hand, it was all us, so if we lose family or our job or the very way our life, it’s because God is testing our faith and he is preparing us for something bigger and better. Whether something bad happens, do not give the enemy the power over your life by saying it was him, be thankful that it is God moving you to where he needs you
