The Truth About High IQ Motherhood

Here’s Why Catholics are not Fundamentalists

Do Catholics read the entire Bible literally? The short answer is, no. Here I share Joseph Ratzinger's thoughts on the fundamentalist, or literal, interpretation of scripture, without applying the lense of historical critical hermeneutics (biblical study). As Roman Catholics, you'd have more credibility about your nuanced (and mostly correct) stance if your generation was not running into the arms of the evangelical fundamentalists here in the states. OK, it is an old saying but bad theology that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Remember the evangelicals supported abortion for a long time until the last 40 years when they changed. But you're too young to know that. Peace, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you.

Anti-astrology seems to be a type of Gnosticism. In the sense it denies creation or at least an aspect of it. The Sun clearly has influence on our lives, the earth, the moon, etc… where the line is drawn is complex but it’s undeniable that our lives are connected someway to the cosmos.
Thanks for sharing, you definitely talked about some things I can relate to. The mundane parts of life is hard on me, and I'm much happier when I make time to pursue the things I'm interested in. I personally don't like the term IQ, because of its racist and classist history, but haven't settled on a better term either. I often struggle sharing my interests with new friends, because I just assume that people aren't interested. So that's something I'm trying to work on.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts <3 I understand where you are coming from in basically every regard here. I've found that creating a community of friends who don't necessarily live next door but who I can talk to about things that interest me has been supportive. I voxer one friend in Alaska, and another in Minnesota basically every day!
@ Yes the internet certainly helps with finding people you can connect with 😊. One of my main interests right now is content creation (I have two channels), so feel free to reach out if you have questions. Keep it going 😊 Catholicism is beautiful bc of its diversity but the catholic youtube channels are stagnantly similar. So it is a breath of fresh air to see a Catholic channel express a unique viewpoint within the orthodoxy. Hopefully you and others are a new wave of catholic expression
Thank you so much for this encouragement 🙏
Thank you so much for making this video!! In the nearly 11 years that I’ve been a mom, many of those years spent in isolation, this is the very first time I’ve experienced another mom and wife share things that have so closely related to my experiences and ways of thinking and viewing the world and myself! Watching you speak, it feels like hope has been restored and I can finally allow myself to not only accept myself for who I am, but maybe love her deeply, too. ♥️♥️♥️🙏🏼🕊️✨
Oh my goodness! This warmed my heart to read. Thank you so much for commenting and sharing your experience with me. I am so very glad that you feel like you can deeply love the mother that you are! ♥️♥️
getting there 🥰
Thank you for this amazing video! I definitely belong to this fortunate group of mothers. Although i became a mother after my PhD and I had the luck to learn lots, till this day I am still digesting motherhood due to hard time accepting that i have very little time for learning and my various interests. Greetings from Freiburg, Germany!
Thank you so much for commenting! Yes, it is hard to sacrifice our passions- and I love your use of the term “digesting”. I am so glad this video spoke to you ♥️
I don’t typically say anything about it but since you asked 😅 Another thing I find isolating is that I’m Orthodox Jewish and most women aren’t super into learning Torah, and most people in general aren’t like spiritually “sensitive” to the extent I am. I’m about to be a stepmother (first, Gd willing) and I worry this will be a struggle for me vis a vis his 4 young kids. Thank you for this video though- I have a lot of projects percolating and on the go, and I’ve been worried about how to make these things work with a family. Really grateful that Gd had this come up in my recommendations! If you’d like to chat sometime, leave a reply and I’ll comment my email, leave it up a few minutes, and delete it.
Haha I understand 😅 I felt very uncomfortable talking about it but mentioned the idea to a friend who was like “YES PLEASE RECORD THIS” 🤣 Wow, a step mother to four young kids! What a blessing and responsibility. 🙏♥️ I understand that feeling of isolation as well… I am one of only three women in my doctoral class, and just wish I had more women to discuss these topics with. I am sure you will manage to balance motherhood and your projects ♥️ it will certainly be a matter of good communication and support with your husband and village. I will be praying for you as you embark on this adventure! Thank you for watching this video!
@ amen, thank you so much! Gd willing you should have success with your family and degree (and with whatever you plan to do with the degree) as well and continue to build a faithful and loving home full of light 🫶🏻
Thank you 🙏
I thought this video was super interesting. I don't believe that I am a high IQ individual but I do deeply struggle with small talk and I find it very difficult to make friends because of this. I want to talk about things that matter, things that stimulate my mind. I am around children literally 24 hours a day -- I need more. I am 25 with 4 children and I adore being a mum but I do wish that I could engage in more in depth conversation. I do have a sister who is very, very intelligent. I have always told her that it must be difficult to have a mind that could've allowed you to do anything but instead to have humbled yourself enough to simply be a homemaker. If I find it difficult, she must struggle much more. Anyways, I certainly related to the second part of the video, but I cannot say that I relate too much to the first.
What a beautiful family ♥️ but being with children 24/7 is draining. Of course you need more. I do hope you manage to get that time to yourself, even if it’s just once a week to take yourself to a solo coffee date. That is kind of you to sympathize with your sister - im sure she feels very recognized by you. Many blessings as you continue your motherhood journey! Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
All the “symptoms” you listed I relate to, so I don’t think those are real signs of a high IQ. Never took an IQ test. I wasn’t a good student (bombed the SAT), but I liked biology so now I’m in college majoring in biology. I can be good at stuff when I put my mind to it, but I feel mentally checked out most of the time due to trauma. I’m not a parent, but I stumbled on this video and was just genuinely interested in what high IQ mothers have to go through. I wasn’t expecting to relate to any of it lol
Thanks for your comment and for watching :) I’m sorry you feel mentally checked out most of the time ♥️ that must be really difficult to experience. Do you think trauma played into your school experience as well?
@ Somewhat. I had some misfortunes happen to me when I was in high school. I went to a small Christian school where the teachers all knew us by name, so I had some teachers pick on me (one of them purposely gave me a lower grade cause she didn’t like me). In high school, I felt that nobody there wanted me to succeed, so I sorta just slowly stopped attending. I ended up finishing high school at a community college and then got my associates. I had a cancer diagnosis in community college, so I ended up taking a gap year. I’m 21 now and a junior in college at a small private university. I’m doing pretty well, though I think years of abuse and then a cancer diagnosis caused me to care less about academics.
Thank you for sharing your story. I am so in awe of you pushing past everything you experienced to still get a degree. Are you cancer free now? 🙏 I’m obviously not an expert, but you sound very smart to me. I wonder if there is a correlation between trauma and school performance, and/or trauma and IQ.
@ thank you! For now, I am in remission. I don’t think I’m dumb, but some things I do, I genuinely question my intelligence. Like, some very basic things I struggle to do (mental math for example). However, it’s not that I don’t understand it (I took calculus and thought it was easy). It’s more like I get nervous when talking to people, so I can’t fully focus on what goes on in my head. I think anxiety definitely holds me back a little. Im excelling in biology, and I’ve asked such great questions that I stumped my professor (who went to Ivy League college lol). So maybe I might actually be okay. Thank you! I subscribed! :)
@@Wolf-r9d Oh, I am so glad to hear you are in remission. Praise God. And yay! Thank you so much for subscribing! Being humble about your intelligence is actually a sign of intelligence ;) I am excited to see you around as I embark on this journey!
Janelle, why is such a good video edited so poorly? I thought it was from 15 years ago. Another question: is your husband as passion-driven as you? Thank you for sharing this, love your insights!
lol! I appreciate your honesty. I have taken a “learn on the job” approach to RUclips. I do not have a background in video editing … and don’t particularly enjoy it. (Which I suppose shows). However, I am attempting to improve with each go. My plan is to hire an editor as soon as I monetize. Moving forward though, I will record with the back of my phone camera rather than my computer. I hope that makes for a better viewing experience. Regarding my husband, I would not say he is *as* driven as I, but he is very driven. His passions are different from mine, but we have taken a “you, me and we” approach to our marriage (a concept adapted from the Gottman method of marriage counseling) so that we each have room to pursue our passions and also ensure we build a life together. I hope that helps! Thanks for your question, the honest feedback, and I’m glad you liked the insights!
@@JanelleMLara I am very curious to know more about this “you, me and we” approach you’ve taken with your husband. I’ve done some searches for some info myself but would love to hear more about it from you! Do you have a preferred resource? Ps. I love that you enjoy your commenters honesty and answer their questions without judgement ♥️
I am happy to share! I am certainly not an expert here so definitely also look into the Gottman Approach further. We got the concept from a marriage therapist we worked with years ago. From what we understand, it’s looking at the marriage as having three ‘priorities’. Obviously, there is the ‘we’. That’s the ‘us’ of a marriage, ‘our’ goals, ‘our’ dreams- what we want to build together, and what we believe God is calling us to as a couple. But often, we forget about ourselves as individuals (especially mothers). What are ‘my’ goals and dreams? What would I like to accomplish? After all, we are whole people, with our own God-given gifts, talents, and passions that deserve exploring and developing (obviously with differing levels of commitment based on our season of life). And the same ought to be true for my husband. So it’s important in a relationship for each of us to commit to fostering and supporting those passions in one another, as well. An example of How this plays out practically for us is my husband supporting me in going back to school. On Tuesdays I have an online class so he puts the kids to bed so I can attend. He loves soccer, so when he has a game I’ll do dinner and bath time on my own with the kids so he can play. That sort of thing. Then of course we have our goals and dreams as a couple which we both work towards, and includes the kind of parents we want to be, ensuring we nurture our relationship, etc. We are certainly not perfect. I have definitely vetoed some of his soccer game requests and it’s not like I’ve never heard a side comment or two when it’s his turn to do bedtime alone 😅 we just do our best and *overall* attempt to support one another while also being fair to our kids and marriage. I hope that helps! ♥️
@ super helpful, thanks so much for taking the time to reply! From what you’ve shared, it sounds like we’re already walking that path, I just didn’t realize there was a name for it I guess lol! We are also doing our best and it’s certainly not perfect (hard for my perfectionist part to accept ha) but so far it’s much better than how we experienced the traditional roles of family. At first it felt almost wrong to look at relationships differently, like we were betraying our families for not following the status quo or something.. did you experience feelings of shame or guilt around shifting your views? We didn’t work with a therapist but I can only assume that would help greatly! Motherhood and navigating that with my husband did not play out the way I had dreamed it would and it has not been easy by any means, but it’s been the most healing journey.. worth every second of pain to gain true inner peace, real deep connection with my self and others and to break the chains of codependency! 🕊️
@@user-hg9os4lw4g Oh I love this so much. Yes, I have experienced lots of feelings of guilt and shame... probably not because I wasn't doing what my parents did (growing up I knew my mother wasn't happy), but because I was taught there was basically one way to be a perfect parent. I feel very differently now, and my girls are also showing me differently, but it sure did affect me for a very long time. I am so glad that it sounds like you have found a true partner in life and parenting!
How do you know you that you have a high iq? Did you pass a test for it?
Hey there, yep- I was administered a test in high school.
You can easily notice it yourself by listening to her speak
@wiktoria41141 That is where you're wrong, I have good diction (in french), my school teachers and loads of people i've met told me so, and yet I consider myself stupid and I'm doing academically terrible The link between intelligence and speech is not as obvious as you might think
@@Sparte_I understand… I didn’t mean the diction but how she’s putting her thoughts and sentences together. How old are you? Don’t forget to focus on your strengths and if it’s a diction for you that’s great!
@@Sparte_ So speech and communication is linked to something called verbal IQ. This measures verbal reasoning and linguistic ability. While 'EQ' (Emotional Intelligence) is also required for good interpersonal communication, this is not something measured by IQ tests. However, there do seem to be positive correlations between the ability to effectively communicate ideas (which is what I'm doing here and, what wiktoria has complimented) and verbal IQ, which is often found in high IQ individuals. Here's a source: Mackintosh, N. J. (2011). IQ and Human Intelligence. Oxford University Press. With all of that being said, it is highly probable that you are not stupid. Stupid people don't watch videos on IQ in their spare time <3 School is not for everyone. Thank you again for watching and commenting!
This is interesting. Perhaps there can be more content on women and their cycles, how that changes over their lifetime, and what the Bible says about both of those aspects.
What an amazing idea :) I will absolutely keep this in mind as I am planning content for the future!
No need to comment unless necessary, just dropping by. The algorithm often amplifies the allure of feminine presence, but in the absence of masculine and feminine practices of gratitude, men[atheists] tend to assert themselves more aggressively. In my experience, it is best to ignore comments posses by darker forces, allowing them to fade like mirages, only to reappear when summoned by the right words... lol Astrology, alternative spirituality, and high intelligence? My wife and daughter are both exceptionally intelligent,if not for our faith, I’m not sure we’d still be together :0p. I am still discerning this, but High IQ is central to my calling, which expresses itself to me through "sacred web of relational depth". I am compelled to engage, especially as intelligence plays a significant role in this journey, even though it’s not my particular strength... lol. Thanks for setting boundaries and remaining steadfast in your calling. I do have a response to your question on the Magi, but we have been in repose, reflecting and mourning.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
You are brilliant. Thank you for sharing this!
That truly means so much ♥️thank you for watching and for your kind words!
Hey there! A few thoughts :) The first one is- while many of my videos are more academic in nature (with lots of sources)- this one, ironically, is not. This is based on my personal experience observing myself and other high IQ moms over the years. I designed these systems to support me specifically, and other intelligent women I know seem to have implemented something similar. So, these are not 'clinically verifiable' indications of a High IQ. In case that if what you are looking for- here's a couple of sources you can start with: Rindermann, H. (2018). Cognitive Capitalism: Human Capital and the Wellbeing of Nations. Cambridge University Press. Deary, I. J., Penke, L., & Johnson, W. (2010). The neuroscience of human intelligence differences. Nature Reviews Neuroscience, 11(3), 201-211. Not taking the Scriptures literally is spiritual suicide. The fact you think a wicked apostate non Catholic heretic like Joseph RATzinger is someone you should be taking theological direction from tells me all I need to know about what you’re really all about.
"Language is a poor medium which to communicate God." Yes, totally agree. Written word which than suffers from translations also a very poor medium. And yet, this was the format "Thee all knowing creator of the universe" sought to make humanity aware of his ways and wishes. Which is why one should clearly see the Bible is fiction. This was God's best plan??? In an ancient world ripe with illiterate peoples.
"You can lead a man to reason, but you can't make him think." -Harry Binswanger-
There is a fundamental (pun intended) problem about intellectual capacity, literal accuracy of word (language), history and its use and the very necessity of interpretation of The Bible!!! Trying to separate Catholic Church from “fundamentalists” is itself an intellectual argument that is based on assumptions of God’s existence, his nature, his ‘relation’ with the humans - both believers and outsiders - to be able to confidently declare oneself on the side of absolute truth!! There are myths, rituals, symbols, icons, stories, poetry, etc. that are contained in the Bible that neither is addressing. Using intellectual, historical, evidence or proof based approaches to that which is mythical and symbolic, mostly, are fruitless efforts.
"There can be no compromise on matters of knowledge, of truth, of rational conviction." -Ayn Rand-
This just sounds like a council of despair & I reject that.
more like a council of common sense
Seems to me, logically, tarot is suggestion that becomes self-fulfilling prophecy. Even if one wanted to use them in a "good or Christian way" then what about our faith in God and his provision for us? All of these alternative spiritualities are nothing new. I came of age in the Hippie era when all of these things came to the forefront. (Another awful thing about the 1960s) I remember them all, and practiced some, but intellectually found them all lacking and for me silly.

Have you considered that this is all just fantasy make-believe about imaginary characters? The girl in the dark shirt sure took the liberty to state things about the character of the god she speaks of. Let's put her on the spot and have her explain how she knows the character of a god no one can demonstrate in reality. I think she understands she's making it up too.
An atheist and a vegan walk into a bar. I only know because they told everyone in the first two minutes.
@izzykhach Come on, if you are going to make a joke, make it a good one. Try another. There are books filled with religious jokes.
@@atheistcomments Unfortunately there are churches filled with them too.
Hey there, thanks for your comment. No intelligent person has gone through life without reconsidering their beliefs. So yes, we have considered that, and simply come to a different conclusion.
@@JanelleMLara That's great but you are on the internet spreading "misinformation" to say the least. A god isn't a conclusion. It's pure fantasy make-believe. You know there are objections to religious claims, you know a god has never been demonstrated to exist in real-life. I think especially the girl in the dark blue, she's deliberately lying for sure.
Fundamentalism is a American invention from the early 20th Century. The Catholic idea that you have a religious tradition which interprets the Bible makes more sense than the Bible is the only guide. The Bible is to say the lest a flawed document. Catholics and the Orthodox when they speak publicly appear to be part of the western intellectual tradition while young earth creationists appear to reject every western value .
Hey Tom, thank you for your insights. I completely agree. I would add that Catholicism and Orthodoxy are reflections of a classical education- which are neither children of the enlightenment NOR fundamentalism. It’s truly a privilege to be a part of this intellectual tradition!
I love it
Thank you!
@@JanelleMLara "I am primarily the creator of a new code of morality which has so far been believed impossible, namely a morality not based on faith, not on arbitrary whim, not on emotion, not on arbitrary edict, mystical or social, but on reason; a morality that can be proved by means of logic which can be demonstrated to be true and necessary. Now may I define what my morality is? Since man’s mind is his basic means of survival […] he has to hold reason as an absolute, by which I mean that he has to hold reason as his only guide to action, and that he must live by the independent judgment of his own mind; that his highest moral purpose is the achievement of his own happiness […] that each man must live as an end in himself, and follow his own rational self-interest." -Ayn Rand-
Roman Catholicism is intellectual suicide. To accept RC dogma, one must humiliate Christ and the scriptures. Jesus is the Word made flesh. But RC dogma says Jesus was incompetent and could not communicate His will and His teachings. Only the RCC has the wisdom and insight to know what Jesus really meant but could not adequately express. To accept RC dogma, one must humiliate one's own intellect. Jesus is the Word made flesh. But RC dogma says Jesus' words are incomprehensible to the reader's God-given rational faculties. Again, only the RCC has the wisdom and insight to use their God-given rational faculties to read the scriptures.
Firstly, it's important to distinguish between Catholicism and ordinary Catholics. Then we need to ask how do we define Christian fundamentalism? If it is only the narrow definition of a belief that the bible is God's direct word and thus without error, then Catholicism is not fundamentalist. However, Catholicism does insist upon certain dogmas and ritual practices, including at least one which is patently false; that of transubstantiation (all Catholics are supposed to believe in it but, privately, all of them know that what they eat and drink is just a wafer and some wine). As another example, Catholicism failed utterly in its handling of the child abuse scandal and sought to protect its clergy and itself rather than the children. In these things, I think it is reasonable to label Catholicism fundamentalist. What other adjective would apply?
Hey there, thanks for your thoughts. To get to the heart of your question, I agree that we need to start by defining Christian Fundamentalism. I asked Chat GPT, and heres what it said: "Christian fundamentalism is a conservative movement within Christianity that emphasizes a strict adherence to what its followers believe are the foundational principles of the Christian faith. It originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a reaction against modernist theology, which sought to reconcile Christianity with new scientific discoveries, critical approaches to biblical interpretation, and cultural changes. Fundamentalism stresses the authority of Scripture and traditional Christian doctrines." It continued by stating that its primary key belief is "Biblical Inerrancy- Fundamentalists believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and literal Word of God. This means that the Bible is without error in all its teachings, including history, science, and morality." Which is what we discuss here. Your other thoughts- such as the Catholic belief in transubstantiation or the heinous way the Church handled the clergy sex abuse scandals, does not apply to Fundamentalism specifically.
@@JanelleMLara Thank you for the, somewhat strange, response. I have already made it clear that I fully understand the technical definition of fundamentalism. My premise is that the word may be used slightly differently to cover the insistence within Catholicism of certain dogmas and traditions and the way the church has always placed its own authority, prosperity and security above all else. It is important to recognise that dictionary definitions are arrived at through common usage of words and that usage often changes over time. The dictionary or current definition is not the final arbiter of meaning, it is a merely a guide. My proposal was that the word fundamentalism could be expanded to include other things that the church insists upon, despite being patently false or morally wrong. As for Chat GPT, why would I have any interest in what a commuter programme states from whatever data it was fed? Especially when it makes a clear error. The fundamentalist view of scripture did not begin in the late 19th century. Indeed, for much of the church's history, it was the only view. The church even imprisoned and killed people who wrote anything contrary to what the bible tells us. It doesn't get more fundamental than that.
@@Outspoken.Humanist Hey there, you did not make it clear that you understand Christian Fundamentalism. You stated, "However, Catholicism does insist upon certain dogmas and ritual practices.." as your only pseudo-definition.. which is not the correct definition of fundamentalism... but merely an assertion that Catholicism is, in fact, a religion. As for the rest of the comment, it it nearly impossible to have the conversation without agreeing on the meaning of the term... so I suppose we part ways here.
@@JanelleMLara You say I wasn't clear. Really? To quote myself, "Then we need to ask how do we define Christian fundamentalism? If it is only the narrow definition of a belief that the bible is God's direct word and thus without error, then Catholicism is not fundamentalist." How much clearer do you want me to be? Do you take issue with the assertion that Catholicism is a religion? That seems strange. I'm not sure whether you are deliberately misunderstanding me or if you struggle with English. Perhaps it's not your first language. I have not and do not have an issue with the standard definition of the term and I am not saying you are wrong. I am merely proposing a fresh idea. You don't have to agree with me but why not just say so? Why does it upset you so much? Anyway, thanks for playing.
Excellent conversation and food for thought.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

Honestly, this is brilliant. And those who are listening in to this and understanding their history will get it. Thank you for speaking on this and sharing this wisdom. I feel like it’s a reclamation of ASTROLOGY. 🙌🎉
@@tinytank808 I feel the same way! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for your compliment ♥️
Rewatching and had to comment. I love how you’ve tied the two worlds together in a practical, source based and non emotional way! Very thoughtful questions and breakdown of the information, I’m interested in where this goes in further comparisons.
Hey Theresa, thanks for your comment and for watching! I’m so glad you love it.
The term you mean is ASTRONOMERS... silly bint!
Hey Devon! They were *also* astronomers, yes.
catholic astrologer doesn.t surprise me coz cathoplics are pagans in disguise. astrology is occult only fools dabble in it.
I don’t know much about what you do, but I am following a certain spirit, and I must say that I truly enjoyed your work for its exploration and display of depth, thoughtfulness, and passion. It’s incredibly fascinating. I hope you don’t mind my feedback below, where I reflect on the Magi's gifts as acts of devotion, recognition of divine kingship, holiness, and commitment. The story of the Magi, whether written by Matthew or another inspired writer, speaks to me not in the question of its authorship but in its ability to draw us into the same sacramental reality, a journey of devotion that unites the human and divine, leading us to Christ. Their journey mirrors the path of all true devotion, moving from natural signs to supernatural revelation, from seeking guidance in creation to finding fulfillment in the Creator. Astrology, as you’ve thoughtfully explored, remains prevalent in many cultures where it is practiced with care. For some, it may serve as a necessary starting point. Like the star of Bethlehem, its value lies in pointing beyond itself. The Magi did not remain at the star, they left it behind when they found Christ. True devotion calls us to move beyond speculation and align our hearts with God’s grace, as seen in Mary’s profound "yes" to God’s will and in the transformative power of the sacraments. Through miracles such as Our Lady of Guadalupe, Eucharistic , Mother Teresa’s extraordinary works of mercy, and the Filipino people’s forgiveness of Japan after World War II(No to reparations), we see devotion in action, a transformative power that transcends questions of authorship, intellect, and cultural boundaries. These moments are not rooted in speculative practices but in grace-filled encounters with the living God, made tangible and real. They remind us that devotion is less about seeking understanding through creation itself and more about responding to the Creator with awe, gratitude, and steadfast commitment. Devotion invites us to trustfully open our hearts, following the signs that lead us into the fullness of divine love and grace. So, it makes me wonder, how can one truly cultivate this openness? Is it by letting go of the need to control or fully understand and instead embracing a posture of humility, wonder, and reverence?
Thank you very much for this thoughtful response. I truly appreciate it! I agree with what you say here. Humility, awe and wonder are certainly necessary ingredients when approaching God, and the Magi, for their part- displayed all of these. *Anything* when used to attempt to control or manipulate, can be sinful. It would appear that scripture scholars and systematic theologians alike agree that the Magi are examples of this devotion. However, the question is, can we Christians be welcoming and open to those ‘languages’ God uses to draw others to himself, *without* condemnation when it is not due- as we see here with the Magi?
then they gave a baby gold, sexual massage oil and hallucinogenic herbs. sounds a whole lot different now doesn't it.
Devoid of devotion, one is often left to rely on intuition alone, grasping for away to something greater. Devotion, particularly in a sacramental sense, provides a framework that aligns the heart with divine grace, integrating all aspects of one’s being into a unified whole. Without it, the search for spiritual fulfillment can become fragmented, leading to a pull toward alternative spirituality, where intuition is emphasized over communion with the divine. Hence, the need for the exemplar, whose obedience acts as a portal to our Lord Jesus Christ, replacing the Hannibal, Frankenstein, dog-headed beast of fragmented pursuits that demands transactional beauty or intellectual purity for transformation.
The magi were pagans who caught wind of a prophecy from the Jews during the Babylonian exile. So even if they were astrologers that’s doesn’t make the case for anything. In fact the scriptures say don’t look to the stars for guidance
Hey there, thanks for your comment. Where did you read they caught wind of a prophecy from the Jews during the exile? Thats not in the gospel reading nor does it explain the star.
@@JanelleMLaraWell take note that the wise men were gentiles. They were learned men. The only reason they would know about the star was because of the prophecy of the torah. " A star will come out of Jacob." During the babylonian exile this prophecy most likely would have been heard and pass down. Look scripture makes it clear astrology is not okay. It is not a practice of the saints of the church through out the years. There is no case to be made for it.
