hmm, a lantern channel. I find it amusing you would have chosen Channing to be guy. I think Channing has the chin to be SuperMan. I love the Nathan choice. He has entertained me all the way back to Firefly. But, I do think Channing would make a good SuperMan and Clark.

I believe that Filmation created Kyro because they considered Tom Kalmaku too ethnic. In the comics, he was Hal’s Eskimo (or Inuit) mechanic, whom Hal called “Pieface”. Ironically, by giving Kyro blue skin, they had to make the Guardians pink-skinned (they were blue-skinned in the comics). Besides these three “Green Lantern” Adventures, GL also appeared in the three “Justice League of America” cartoons.

As a little boy...I've always remembered G.L. wearing "white" boots as well as gloves. As an adult thought it was my imagination until now...7:25 .Now I remember ,it was from the mistakes in these shows ! Always thought his suit looked cooler that way !🙂

I do have a theory, I think it was based on a comic, that’s why not as good as the normal cartoons that we know of now. That’s why there was only one superhero and one villain. And minions didn’t have much action to the movements.

These cartoons were not made for adults but for kids between the ages of 5 and 10. Adults and teens did not read comic books let alone watch cartoons. So these morning cartoons were not sophisticated, but as a kid they were fun to watch. But seriously if you were adult back then reading a comic book or analyzing a superhero cartoon, people would have thought you had gone bonkers

i like green lantern, when im using mouthwash after brushing my teeth i go over the lantern oaths in my head so i dont have too little time for the mouthwash to do its thing(9 oaths, 2, reds, 1 black, 1 sinestro, 5 greens), but i dont like talking during the show, its distracting.

LOL, I WAS THERE IN 1967 WATCHING ALL THE FILMATION CARTOONS AS WELL AS A ( MAJOR DC COMICS COLLECTOR ). PLEASE REMEMBER THAT DC COMICS AND WRITERS OWNED THE ( COPYRIGHTS ) TO ALL THE DC COMICS AND CHARACTERS I.E. KIRO IN THE 1967 GL CARTOON SERIES WAS ACTUALLY ( PIEFACE ) IN THE COMICS, BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE ( RACIAL PROBLEMS DURING THAT TIME ) FILMATION CHARACTERS WERE CHANGED TO AVOID ANY ISSUES FROM RACIAL GROUPS. FILMATION CREATED THE CARTOONS ON A VERY SMALL BUDGET, DC CARTOONS ONLY HAD A 5 MINUTE TIME FRAME AND THEY HAD TO USE A VERY LIMITED STAFF OF WRITERS IN ( 1967 ). THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!

You know, now that I think of it, Kiro is supposed to be a stand in for Hal Jordan's pal at the time Thomas (who was referred to as "Pieface"). The similarities are too hard to ignore.

I don't get why they couldn't use the villains from the book, but I do like how back then they created original villains for the show. I wish they would do that more these days but I understand why this isn't done.

How could his ring affect the yellow aliens when the color yellow is it's only weakness? Kyro's blue but the Guardians are not? They look like Archie Bunker clones. Hal Jordan sounds like Reed Richards for the Hanna-Barbara's Fantastic Four cartoon.

John Diggle went on to be John Stewart at the end of arrow verse that was the only live action Jon Stewart .

I will say the biggest change from the comics to the series were the Red Lanterns. At the time most Red Lanterns in the comics were unable to speak because of how consumed with rage they were. Oh and the ring would explode their hearts and take over their bodily functions so you couldn't just take that ring off.
