Hello all! I would like to take you on my outdoors adventures. ATV's, Off Road wheeling and some HAM radio tossed in for good measure!! I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I do!!
Quads on the Paiute Trail June 2023 Polaris and Honda
Take a journey with N0KTZ and KE0DSD (Rusty and Fred). We are riding our quads in beautiful Utah for the first time. And was it EPIC!! The Paiute trail system did not disappoint. The views were amazing and we had the time of our lives. There is no oder to these videos as we were there for a full week. We ended up with somewhere around 5tb of footage during the week between the two of us. This is just a few quick clips that I really liked. I hope you do to!!

Просмотров 264Год назад
Im replacing the house batteries on my Rockwood A122TH. Im removing the acid based deep cycle batteries with 200ah of Lifpo batteries. The process is pretty involved with removing and adding wires, fuses and circuit breakers. Follow along as we make the leap in to Lithium and Solar!!

GoPro is getting FIRED!

I cant tell you how many hours of video that I have that are ruined by GoPro audio issues, connection issues, power issues and the list goes on and on. With the amount of money we spend on these things they should just work! Im not a crazy action camera user or even a camera geek. Im just a guy that wants his hard earned money spent on something to just work!! it really doesn't have to be hard!!

How horrible is it to ride quads in Colorado? Take a peak and see for yourself! ATV riding is amazing check it out! Rusty N0KTZ and myself will be riding plenty this season. Keep checking back for more videos soon!
Plowing Snow with a Polaris Sportsman 850 ATV Pt2
Просмотров 659Год назад
Im using a Polaris Sportsman 850 Ultimate Trail to polw the snow from my driveway. It is shot all hand held by a novice! Still working on the bugs and learning new video software. I hope you enjoy the video. This is part 2 showing you my mistake on the shear pin. DO NOT put a grade 8 bolt in it. Get the correct sheer pin!

Does it "taco" at the hitch when loaded with quad?
My congratulations on your purchase of a polaris 850.... I am looking at the purchase of one of these for the very reason of snow removal.... I will not really use it for trail use.... Watch out for those stumps... Doc P>S> DO NOT USE A GRADE 8 ... THAT BOLT IS MILD STEEL <<<
Eee,almeno intorno casa 🤠
Nice machine
Thank you!!
Great video! Is there a mechanism (like a screened door) that helps you bring the final part down? I noticed you basically did it one-handed with minimal effort.
There isn’t a screen door unfortunately. With the door splitting in half during setup and tear down it would e difficult. I have thought of trying to fit something that’s magnetic but haven’t got to it just yet. It is very easy to set up and break down. Thanks for watching and adding a comment!!!!
@@bravo1xray522 I’m sorry! I couldn’t think of the right terminology, so I said screen door mechanism… I meant- there’s got to be some sort of hydraulic system that helps you bring down the final part of the camper- you did it one handed. Looked super easy-
@@erinmichaels9930oh! Yes there are struts on the other side that assist in opening and closing. Sorry I misunderstood you!!
Flip the sheer pin , I took the long eye bolt out and put a short one in with a pully block , then I put a short hook strap on the nerf bar , yes , take the winch thriugh the block and snap the hook strap , one a lot more room , two you wont break the cable like I have many times .
Thanks for the tips and the Sub!!
Very good video of the plow I just got a 2024 Yamaha Kodiak 700 with a plow and I can’t wait to use it to compare!
I think that 700 wont have a issue!! Very nice machines!!
Yea I agree! Very well built and powerful! It’s not the same as Polaris I feel like the Yamahas have a bit more power
850 is a good size machine. I have a Suzuki 500 with a Boss hydraulic plow. I think you would like the Boss plow and your machine could handle the V plow Boss makes.
I've looked at the Boss plow they are nice. Perhaps when mine is ready for replacement I'll look into it more. Thanks for the comment!!
@@bravo1xrayoutdoors625 I’m 61 and I got a Boss straight plow 5 years ago. I had been using a manual lift plow for several years. I don’t have a winch on my atv It’s pretty nice being able to angle and move the plow up and down without getting off the atv. Your 850 could plow very deep snow with a V plow but my 500 didn’t meet the specifications for a V plow. I think I spent $3,000 and I think the V plow was a thousand more back then.
I will defiantly will be looking into a better set up once its time to replace it. Where I live now does not require too much plowing so it might be a little while! Thanks for the comment!! @@calvinreichelderfer7989
I really like your setup!! Looks like it works good!!
Thank you! It really works well. Thank you for the comment!
Cool trailer !
I really enjoy it!!
Nice video but you didn't have your red lever locked in downward position 9:50
Good Catch! I didn't even notice! Thank you for watching!
Consider installing one of them fancy auto-detect power converters. The newer WFCO "WF-8740-AD" automatically adjusts the charging profile to match the battery type. Some other manufacturers have a switch (Progressive Dynamics 4100) --- but I have OCD gorilla fingers and buttons tend to scare me. The WFCO should fit right in there. I'm planning on doing that with my trailer.
That is a great idea! Make for a great winter project!!
Great video. 0:35 - LOL
Do you know that guy?!?!
I don’t have a crawler. Durratrax st nitro & e-revo 1/10 electric ⚡️ nitro fuel ⛽️ was fifty bucks a gallon when I got it it’s a hun fidy now
I havent done Nitro for a long time. That is a crazy price!!
She’s a tight unit, plows nice 👍…
It really works well!!
You can flip the pin over and reuse it !! It’s a two ended pin
yup! figured that out and showed it in the next video... LOL
I have plowed my driveway now for 4 years now, and it works great !!
Love mine!!
What size atv do you load and what is the total tongue weight with the atv loaded and ready to head down the road?
I load a Polaris Sportsman 850 on the platform. It couldn't be any bigger to fit in the rails. I've never measured the tongue weight to be honest. A load distribution hitch and air bags in the truck are used. Tows like a dream!!
Shut the heck up! That thing is awesome! 16:20 - how big is the fresh water tank? Awesome tour! Thanx!
Thanks for comment!! The fresh water tank is 20-25 gallons.
Awesome collection of clips! Thanx for sharin'! Thanx a ton for sharing the name/location of the cabins. I noticed in the drone footage your trucks were not parked by your cabin. Is this not allowed? 13:30 - Looks like you know your way around a grill! Looks good Chef Fred! 15:12 - WOW, quite the view! Rusty told me to check out your channel, so hear I am & I'm glad I did! You earned a new sub Uncle Fred!
Thank you again!! Parking next to the cabins was frowned upon. Even more so with the trailers. There were some people that came later in the week that did but they did not have any trailers. Rusty and I eat like kings while out on our adventures for sure!! Thank you for the Sub! I hop that I don't disappoint!!
WOW, how cool is that! Not an animal you generally want to be that close to, but I think you were safe up on the balcony.
the only thing i really dont like is that I dont have one. great walk through
You NEED One!!
13:50
We eat like KINGS!
Barefoot on the porch and the banjos cracked me right up!
Epic trip! Cant wait to go back!!
Love that mud cam footage right out of the gate!!! Hahaha! YEAH!!!!
THE MUD CAM!!!
I seen another video where the guy cut a slit in a pvc pipe the length of the plow for using on grass and gravel driveway. Ive never tired it but it may be something to consider. Good video
I will give that a try!! Thank you for the tip!!
Cool lineup!!
Ohhhh Boy!
You're Next!!
Yes!
Cool place!
It really is!
Wow!
Where do I get one?
These are custom built. Check with your local hobby store.
Lo más bonito que puede existir 😍
PS: your A/V is awesome! 🏆
Thank you!! Trying to improve with each video!
Fun stuff!! Question: Do both the main power and main ground have to be the same gauge wire?
Thanks for the comment! Yes they should match in size. This will allow the same amps to flow in each direction.
@@bravo1xrayoutdoors625 ... I probably need to check my alternator ground. Getting some whine in my mobile comms. Weird that it's only on Rx, and I get clean reports on Tx. Maybe it has something to do with that dang ticking noise in my engine? 🤣😂, the Hemi doomsday tick. It's a real thing!! If it's the last thing I do on this earth, I WILL get to the bottom of this RFI. Hahaha.
How do you like your 850 So far? I just ordered one yesterday and i currently have a 570 eps. Also next time just flip your shear pin over you can use the same pin twice. Dosnt hurt to keep a spare on hand too.
I really do like it! It has all the power I need to ride all over the mountains of Colorado and push the snow we get! I mention the shear pin in the part 2 of my plowing videos. Thanks for the comment!
Great walkthrough. Your audio is awesome
Thank you for kind words! I think audio is everything in these videos. Thank you for noticing!
I want one!!! 👍 The audio was flawless in this video - go figure!!! lol 🤣
That's what happens when you DONT use a GoPro!!
You got one now!!
I appreciate this boss, I'm new to ATVs and snow plowing and I think the 850 is just what I need unless I can get a 1000 for cheap. We had our first rough winter and really need a plow system. Thanks for your perspective!
Check out my other video. There are some better shots of the plow working. Thanks for the view and comment!!
@KE0DSD "EXACTLY"! ---- Hey, GoPro, you're FIRED!! Mine is nothing but a mud-cam from here on out! Great video Fred. Keep 'em rolling brother. GoPro's issues with overheating, locking up and no-audio won't be as much of a problem in the middle of a giant mud puddle! 🤣😂🤣
Mud-cams!!
Nice, does it have enough power? How is the suspension? How is the realibilty? Which parts would you upgrade? Is it much lighter than a 1000ccm? Alsow can u compare it to other brands Canam, cfmoto?
Thanks for the comment! I'm 270lbs and the plow weighs about 100lbs. I have the suspension on the front on the second to most stiff setting and the 850 handles with out issue. There is more then enough power to plow up to 8" or so at a elevation of 9600' up hill. I have had a need for any upgrades yet. I've done a few "MODS" but nothing big. Heated hand grips, rear work light, front mounted light bar that's about it. I have about 700 miles on it now and so far so good. I just keep the wheel bearings lubed, change the oils and Check the air filter. I just completed a preseason service and did a full fluid change, plugs, air filter and pulled the cover on the belt. Belt still looked new so I just blew out the area and put it back together. The only real comparison that I have is my buddy has a Honda Rubicon 520. Both are great quads. He does not plow with his but it has gone everywhere that I have. We are not aggressive riders but have done some really fun trails and have been all over the Colorado mountains. 73
@@bravo1xrayoutdoors625 nice thanks
I have a 450 HO with the same plow but hydraulic turn plow, beats getting off the bike to turn the plow
That would be nice for sure!
Thanks for the update, I have ordered spare pins after watching your video, Thanks
Awesome! I'm glad the video help you out!!
Wow, I have hit all kinds of stuff over the years and never broke that pin, I'll be ordering one today just incase. Thanks for the vid.
It was a shocker when I hit it! If you watch the other video I posted, I show you what the look like.
Make sure the red handle for the plow frame is pushed down into the lock position!! Just flip over the shear pin it has 2 usable ends...
I found that out the hard way bought a few spares too! I show them in my Pt2 video. Thank you for the comment!!
I got the gloss chalk 850. A very nice machine. I bought a 60" plow for mine and we haven't gotten enough snow to use it. I do really like how the plow adapts to the wheeler. Polaris for years has been the best looking and keeps getting better IMO.
I really love mine too! Super easy to hook up and operate!! Thanks for the comment!!
im a diehard BRP (can am, ski doo) guy but that year sportsman is by far the best looking atv ever produced
Thanks Andrew. I have to admit that I’m a little partial to it too!!
It does look good!
Atv!
YES!
I had a similar drive way ,eventually I cleared all the stumps and rocks. With better going you will be able to go faster thus slinging the snow back further.Nice atv
Thank you for the comment!! Im surprised on ho well it plows!!
Outstanding! You need to go back there (with me) 🤣 You just can’t beat a ham radio for comms in the high country. Excellent video right there brother. Keep em coming. Tell your other channel subs to come over. Bet there’s a bunch of folks that would dig this channel too! Also: thanks for the plug. I’m turning into a where’s Waldo. Haha.
Just let me know when your ready!
