How would that info be helpful, and who, as a homeowner, isn’t already aware of it? Not trying to be flip, but my goal is to provide info people are asking about, not restating the obvious and readily available. While taxes may be contributing to the rise in inventory as some people elect to leave the area, we haven’t seen it as a major contributing factor to the current market. If you’ve got stats to the contrary, I’d be interested in seeing them.

@@PnL-Properties its not about people leaving the area its about affordability. You mentioned rates are up and foreign money dried up AND the new tax law. All things that homeowners already know. So why not mention that a 30% increase in property taxes is also resulting in an even higher payment.

I hear you, and thanks for the reminder. I have been including that in recent conversations, and it certainly is a factor - especially for a lot of elderly homeowners whose tax payments are now significantly more than the mortgages they have paid off. It was on my notes to discuss, but I spaced including it in the video, just because I was trying to cover so much material.

@@PnL-Properties for sure I'm thinking of a retirement place and don't see how I could buy one in king county. Can't even imagine the taxes in 20 years.

There's not a lot of retiring going on in King Co, unless you're moving into a senior center. For all the reasons we've discussed, and of course, many folks head south for retirement. Our winters just aren't as attractive as sunshine on a golf course, for some reason! Are you currently local, or just looking at your options?
