Towbridge junction
Добавлен 31 мар 2015
Hello and welcome to my RUclips channel featuring videos of my layout, Towbridge Junction, a humble train set style layout. Whilst under maintenance there are still plenty of running sessions outdoors to enjoy. Whether you like steam or diesels, modern or back in the day, there are plenty of trains running. That said, I do love a class 37, so there are plenty of those in the running sessions too! If model trains aren't your thing, then you too are catered for here with the monthly 'Random Train Clips' videos which feature all the freight/loco hauled workings I see as well as anything of interest. On top of that there are also 'Trains at ...' videos too. So why not grab a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit, sit back and relax as various trains go by... Thank you.
On a side note, I would like to mention that my later videos are considerably less shaky, so I would recommend viewing any of these post 2017/2018 videos. Enjoy.

Featuring in this month's RTC video is a large mix of locomotives and rolling stock. This video effectively has 2 halves: a Woking half and a Derby half, but both halves have a good mix of various freight and test train moves. Starting off in Woking there's plenty to see including Network Rail's 313121 on the move, a few engineers' workings, this month's test train hauled by 2 GBRf 73s, the fin...

I used love riding those trains in 2015 and 2014 times like was like 7 and 8 years old around those times memories, I miss the old SWT liveries
Great video.
Hey nice video! Happy new year!
Some professional looking shots there 👍
Class 73s have to be one of the best dual purpose electro diesel locomotive designs to run on British railways. They should have also made a larger co-co version with far greater diesel capability for sure.
Hello there TJ, glad you’re back. What a nice bit of coverage. The first two layouts offer a lot of inspiration, and the fourth will be quite something when finished. The TMD was well made but could do with a spot of grime😉 but I would say that. Thanks for sharing the video, take care and happy Christmas to you 👍
Great layout
There really were some fine layouts on display, it was a great show. Thanks for watching and commenting
Enjoyed that, I didn't know there was a show at Mickleover! Any idea of the dates for next year?
Thanks very much! It was a great show. Haven't heard much about it yet, but I'd imagine it would be a similar time of year (Sometime around the beginning of October!)
3:20 nice nameplate lol
The one and only haha
I don’t know how you managed to catch so many unusual workings once again TJ, the GWR with class 20 on the back was first class. 37610 always sounds superb and 37418 is looking like new. Top video, hope you’re keeping well and running some trains, all the best Darren 👋
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video, and sorry for the late reply! Yes, Derby's definitely a hub for just the sort of trains I like! Glad you enjoyed the Castle class at the end, it was my first time seeing one on the mainline as they're not cleared to run on the Southern thanks to the third rail (Or so I'm told!). Hope to sort out some running sessions soon, if nothing else there are a few more locos that are new or that I've just finished! Thanks very much though for watching and commenting as always, it's definitely been a while since I last regularly uploaded so it is much appreciated! Hope you're doing well too, I've certainly got many videos to catch up on over the Christmas break!
Love it
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
What a great selection of fayre, finally got a few minutes to watch! Some nice class 37 shots 37510 sounded particularly fine, not seen Cemex Express for ages. Caroline and 37418 must be a nightmare for the signalling operators with a lot of reversing as with most of the test trains, enjoyed as usual TJ All the best, Darren
Thanks very much, and sorry I’ve only just seen your comment! I’ve updated all my RUclips apps and it seems it reset all my notifications to be off! I’m glad you enjoyed the video though, it was nice to get out and film some of these workings. Certainly am a fan how much 37 action there is here in Derby, and all the test trains they bring. Yes I think you’re right, Derby has several platforms split in two too, so there are often 2 trains on each platform. Certainly more than I could handle! Oddly enough I’ve just bought a Hattons Cemex 66 for a very low price that I’ll be hoping to fix up soon, so I’m sure that’ll feature on the channel soon enough! Thank you very much for watching and commenting as always, it’s greatly appreciated! 👍
Greetings to the Patio Railway on Tour 🌞 Awesome collection of scene's 🤩 the Colas 37 at Derby in the evening light was just stunning 😍👏👏👏👏 Apart fom my Europheonix fetish 😳 particularly loved the GBRf Cemex 66 and wagons 😍 I just picked up 6 of the RevolutioN JNA-T models, I think I'm gonna need lots more 💰🥺 Excellent watch as always 👍 very best wishes from the Garden of Ireland ☘️
Thanks very much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, and sorry for the late reply! I’ve just adjusted my notification settings so I should be able to see when I have comments now! 🤦🏼♂️ Glad you enjoyed the video, I did enjoy filming these. One of my favourite things about Derby has to be the variety of 37s we get through regularly and I love the class 37 and DBSO test trains that normally run overnight, so it’s an added benefit to see them in the evening light! Funnily enough I’ve just picked up a Hattons Cemex 66, but I currently don’t have any GBRf wagons for it to run with so I was looking at some oo JNA-Ts! They seem like fine models, but are rather pricey sadly! Looking forward to seeing your JNA-Ts at work in a future video soon. Thanks very much for watching and commenting, it’s greatly appreciated 👍
4❤️ Beautiful sharing friend
Thank you very much, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
What a video, the only way to travel! Starting with what looked and sounded like a black5, through to what appeared to be a West Country Pacific in royal purple. These locos seem to be in better than new condition, absolutely magnificent to behold. Top notch stuff 👍👍👍
Thanks very much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It certainly is! There really isn’t anything quite like steam travel. Yes, that is a Black 5 in the first clip and the purple Bulleid pacific is Taw Valley. Certainly made for a great day out and it was fantastic to see so many locos in steam. Thanks very much for watching 👍
Wicked stuff. I need to visit the seven one day.
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video, I’d definitely recommend the SVR if you haven’t already been. Amazing views, amazing locos and overall a great day out 👍

Excellent run session. 😃
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully I’ll have more running session videos in the future 👍
Greetings to the Patio Railway 🌞 Oh for the balmy days of July 😎 getting chilly ❄️ won't be long till Santa time 🎅😲🤣🤣🤣🤣 Class 37 Europheonix pleaseeeee 👍 Very best wishes from the Garden of Ireland ☘️
Thanks very much, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, I miss the warm dry days of July and being able to run trains outside! There’s definitely an autumnal chill about the air these days. Oddly enough I’m just planning some more work on my Europheonix 37, hopefully the next time you see it it’ll have some new lights 🤩 Thanks very much for watching and commenting as always 👍
Great, got some peace and got to watch my favourite Friday entertainment show. I’ve been missing these patio sessions, obviously the engineering does it every time 👍👍👍 Hope your new home will facilitate some regular train running, all the best Darren 👋
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video, it was an enjoyable one to film earlier this summer. Glad you liked the engineering rakes, I really must get round to weathering those bright yellow JNA wagons as they’re extremely bright in the sunshine! Yes, not quite sure on the logistics of it but there’s a chance I might be able to have a go at building a proper layout indoors which would be brilliant. If not though I’m sure I’ll find a way to run trains, especially since I have a new loco and a few more bits I finished up before the move. Thanks very much for watching and commenting 👍
It’s a big ask to pluck up the courage to ‘spoil’ those spoil wagons, that’s why I hardly ever buy anything I’m not prepared to mess up a bit, fine models though. Really like the Freightliner green and yellow, it’s stood the test of time.👍👍👍 good luck with the layout, once you get into it I’m sure it’ll get moving quick, trouble is these things can take over your life!!!🙂😀😁
@@Shelfandtabletoplayouts00gauge Yes haha that’s very true! It’s one of those jobs I’ve been putting off for that exact reason, they’re great wagons and ones I run all the time, so I definitely don’t want to get them wrong! Yes it’s a fine livery. That 66 is currently on my workbench list for a bit of TLC, since I bought it last year for a very low price spares/repair on eBay and have never done more than just making it work again. Got all the missing bits though so hopefully the next time you see it it’ll be complete and maybe even weathered a bit too. Thanks very much! Still haven’t got anything permanent yet, but hopefully I’ll be able to start planning anything possible soon!
Excellent colorfull scenario. Thanks for shareing video my friend and i invite You on my channel about my h0 model layout in free time and have a great Day 😃 👌
Thanks very much for the kind comment, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I’ll check out your channel, thank you! 👍
Love it
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video, and good to see you still around online after your Instagram account got deleted!
Greetings to the Patio Railway on Tour 🌞 Triple shedding 😲 GBRf just showing off 😎 That DC rail 60 looks like it just came off the production line 😍 Great also to see Diesels pulling the excursions instead of those horrible steam trains 😱🤣🤣🤣🤣 Pride of place has to go to the ROG 37's though ❤️ and you had to go to Derby to feed my addiction 😇 Many thanks from the Garden of Ireland ☘️
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video, even if it was brimming with GBRf from start to finish 😉 DC Railfreight always seem to keep their 60s in very clean and smart condition which always is nice to see! Yes, I have to admit as nice as it is to see constant steam, I’ll take the 20s and 47s over them instead 😉 Yes Derby is very much the go to place for class 37s and ROG moves, hopefully there’ll be plenty more in the future to enjoy too. Thanks very much for watching and commenting as ever, it is much appreciated 👍
I don’t know how you manage to film so many ‘celeb’ locos TJ, it’s like an ad for GBRf👍👍👍 lovely slow pass of 37510 and 219(twice!)and 3 more after that! So much variety in there, I was going to put out a ‘shed’ video but I won’t bother after that! Nice to see the petroleum 66 on the tankers (second time around) then returning light. Superbly done 37418 and Caroline seem to have done the entire network in the last couple of weeks, Probably the best train coif the week 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍👍👍 All the best, Darren
Thanks very much! That’s very kind! I was fairly happy with the mix I managed to catch over the first half of the month, then Derby came along and knocked it out of the park! There really is a 37 every minute there and so much more to enjoy. There’ll be a few more clips of the petroleum 66 in the part 2 vid, that kept appearing that afternoon shunting the wagons to Sinfield and back, and hopefully there’ll be a few more 37 clips too. Excited to see what September brings! Thanks very much for the kind words, and thanks very much for watching. Have a great weekend 👍
@@Towbridgejunction it’s an astonishing piece-so far, really, there nothing out there atm with such variety and clarity combined 👏🏻
Nice double celebrity in long welded rail👍 is that gas in those tanks? ….. TARDIS effects pretty amazing selection of celeb sheds TJ, With a couple of crackers to finish. 10/10 All the best, have a great weekend Darren 👍👍👍😀👋
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the part 2 of July’s clips. I’ve been trying to work that out myself, I had thought initially it was aviation fuel on the run to deliver petrol to Heathrow Airport but I couldn’t seem to find the working again afterwards, so I’ve not been able to work out what or where it was going sadly! Interesting wagons though, I took several detail shots as they sat in the station waiting a green! Glad you liked the video, I always worry these part 2 videos are much less interesting and will be less popular. Thanks very much for watching and commenting as you always do, have a great weekend 👍
@@Towbridgejunction sat on green🙄 wow, must be volatile stuff then, yes aviation fuel, could be. 👍👍👍 👋
Another mesmerizing train program my friend 👍 Greetings from India 🇮🇳
Thank you very much for your kind comment! Glad you enjoyed the video, and happy to hear it’s not just in the U.K. that my videos are watched! Have a great weekend 👍
Greetings to the Patio Railway 🌞 Wow you can really see evidence of the drought in this video 😪 Just as well we have some beautiful trains to take the mind away 😉 Especially the beautiful 33 😍 and the 37 🤩 plus the 47 😳 OK the whole show 😇 Very best wishes for some rain 🌧 from the still Emerald Isle ☘️
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the rather dry video! Yes, we’re currently in a hose pipe ban drought here but the heavens are due to open tomorrow and we’re now due a week of rain again. Glad you liked the mix that ran. That 33 might have to be one of my favourites, after dirty face of course 😉 Really must film some more running sessions soon, life always seems to get in the way of running trains these days! Thanks very much for watching and commenting as always, have a great week 👍
Whatever is on TV, I wouldn’t know, or care….. this is what I want to see😀 Lovely collection of early mk2s, sector 47 and p/w 37 possibly a 372XX? Fantastic, may your patio forever bloom 🌸 I haven’t had the time yet but I’m determined to get a running layout again! Mainly because of your patio👍👍👍 All the best and have a great weekend, Darren 👋
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed the running session. Have to say those Mk2A coaches are quite possibly my favourites, I wish they were more easily available and cheaper! Glad you like the 37. That’s 37142 I believe, one of the regional exclusive models Bachmann made a few years ago, that I managed to get very cheap second hand as a ‘spares/repair’ loco a couple of years ago (turns out the previous owner thought he’d ruined it by weathering it, but I think it looks great so I’m chuffed!). Ah yes you must! I for one certainly am in need of more clips of your fabulous Wessex Pink 31 or that stunning 37688 of yours! Thanks very much for the kind words and for watching and commenting as always, have a great weekend 👍
@@Towbridgejunction more than welcome 👍 aah, 37142, great purchase 👋 I keep banging on about selling my mk2As🫣😆👍😀👍👍👍
Nice
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.

Nice location and video dear. A new friend from bangladesh.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the upload, and nice to know my content is being watched around the world!
Greetings to the Patio Railway on Tour 🌞 Another fantastic selection 😎 my favourite has to be the BR Railfreight Shed 😍 although the classic EWS livery runs it close 😇 Very enjoyable as always 🌞
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video and the selection in it. That pair of GBRf triple grey Sheds certainly have grown much on me since they were first unveiled. It’s a livery that suits them well I think. An EWS 66 is a glaring omission from my fleet, this is something I’ll have to address one day. Thanks very much for watching and commenting as always, it’s much appreciated 👍
Can’t believe I’ve not commented on this one yet, it’s a classic. Nice A/C 86 and inter city set. Every time I watch this channel I always want to go out an buy p/w topes, coal fish and maybe a sea cow or two! Riveting, I noticed you had a table-top layout at the start…. those sea lions near the end👍👍👍 Darren
Thanks very much! That’s very kind! I do love that IC 86, there’s something so retro about it and it’s also called Frank Hornby which is an added bonus. I do love a good engineers wagon and thankfully there are plenty available at good prices second hand so I’m sure there’ll be plenty more running one day in the future. Yes, that would be Towbridge Junction Mk1. I put it together some 8 or so years ago now, but I hadn’t put much thought into it and was restricted with how I needed to store it indoors (each board is stacked against the other behind a bookcase in our living room, far from ideal!) meaning the boards have warped considerably these days, the track is unreliable and vulnerable to damage when storing the boards and I’m unable to put anything 3D onto the boards without having them removable since I have to store it the way I do. Hopefully in the future I can have enough indoor space to build a proper permanent layout and then the fun can begin. Thanks very much for the kind comment. I was thinking of doing a 2021 version of this style video, maybe that’s something I’ll do for the future 👍
The West Coast Class 33s were common up here a while back but you NEVER see them up north anymore. Great shot of Clan Line and my favourite class, the Black 5 with mk2f Pullmans by the looks of it. Good to see the converted class 69 in GBRf with matching hoppers in full service now. They look bigger than the 56s , it must be the new paint jobs. A lovely selection again TJ, the opening shot looked just like a model with a new piece of concrete sleepered peco on the right 😀 All the best, hope you’re considering a new layout !!! I’m sure it would be worth watching 👍👍👍 Darren
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video. I do like those 33s but they never seem to get as much use as WCRC’s 47s which is a shame, they’re brilliant locos. Yes I love a black 5, there’s just something about the design that just makes it look completely right to me, and I’m glad to have slowly accumulated clips of different mainline registered ones over the years. Still seems weird seeing a loco that looks like a 56 but sounds like a 66 passing through, but they’re definitely growing on me. Love that newly relaid section of track in the beginning. If I ever do accumulate enough funds and space for a new layout over the winter, that’s definitely something I’d like to have a go at! Thanks very much for watching and commenting as always, it’s much appreciated 👍
Very impressive compilation of stunning trains. Great efforts mate 👍
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Superb TJ, what about the weathering on the coal sector class 37!!!👍👍👍
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video. I must admit, this and the rest of the videos from this era are far from my favourite videos of mine. I feel these are far too shaky and terribly edited, I hope my later videos are much better! 2015 was a brilliant year for the annual exhibition though and I was certainly a big fan of Oulton TMD, which as you may be able to tell has been a true inspiration for my running sessions ever since! Thanks very much for watching and commenting, I’m looking forward to catching up on the Bleak Week at the weekend after a hectic week! 👍
Very excellent video!! Excellent quality and video shooting... I liked it, enjoyed it!!! KEEP UP YOUR AWESOME WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks very much! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, and thanks for watching and commenting 👍
@@Towbridgejunction I got a new video ;)
Some lovely clear shots, a triple ‘Windhoff?’ Some nice night captures and a cracking sand/aggregates train too. Always good stuff on the channel 👍👍👍 Any thoughts about an Autumn-Winter layout project?😀
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video, this certainly seems like a long time ago now! Yes, those Windhoff MPVs make a nice change in the winter months to add to the local variety. Great models in oo gauge too, though they don’t seem to have been made for a good few years now. I have had a few thoughts about starting a proper layout over the winter. Space is definitely the biggest enemy as always, but it would be great to have somewhere to run trains on a rainy day! I guess we’ll just have to see what happens. Many thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Great work! The 73s are my favourite, even though a simple layout, you do manage to create some great scenes!
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video. Happy to hear you like the 73s, they’re probably my favourites too. It would be great to one day start a proper layout. Many thanks for watching and commenting 👍
DCR 31!!! Outstanding working, hope Andy Peters was watching the Colas 66.. Great music this week btw, another classic patio matinee 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻top job on the 66, looks great.. you might guess I like the engineering rakes, always liked ‘em, really hope you end up building another layout to put these marvellous trains on.. Those Harry Needles with the ROG tractor takes second prize for me⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Darren
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the running session and the locos that ran. That DCR 31 is certainly one of my favourite locos and it’s great to be able to see some of the patchy paintwork I added when I detailed and painted this loco up in the sunshine! Very kind about the 66, I’m certainly much happier with it now than when I first got it! Yes, I certainly love engineering rakes too, I always find them interesting and love the locos that haul them. I’d love to make a proper layout with scenics and ballast one day, not sure whether I’d base it off somewhere real or go entirely for a fictional location in a region. I don’t have any plans for one yet, but it would be great to do one in the future! Thanks very much for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the music too. Some of my favourite Danosongs tunes in this video! Thanks very much for watching and commenting as always 👍
Greetings to the Patio Railway 🌞 Definitely can't beat a "Shed" in the garden 😁 although the Europheonix 😍 does trump it 😳 The DB class 60 also is a stunner 💃 with very natural looking weathering 🤩 Great show 👏👏👏 and the Evening light was a perfect addition 😎 Very best wishes from the Garden of Ireland ☘️
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video and the locos that ran. Pleased to hear you like the 66, that’s a loco I bought cheap second hand and have been slowly restoring and weathering it over time, it’s great to finally be able to run it on the patio! Glad you enjoyed the europheonix 37 too, I ran that just for you 😉 That DB 60 is a fantastic model, a repaint by the very talented Jon Gavin from Peakdaleworks37686. I’ve always been very happy with it, but I recently repainted and reweathered the bogie frames since I wasn’t entirely happy with the way it looked before. Those white pipes are a nightmare to paint, certainly took me a good few hours per side to paint! Glad you enjoyed the video, this one has to be one of my recent favourite sessions I think. Thanks very much for watching and commenting as always 👍
Brilliant! My favourite has to be your test train with those awesome 73s top & tailing. I liked the 37 + 20s as well. Overall a great video 👍
Thanks very much! Glad you liked the video, this running session is certainly a recent favourite of mine! Happy to hear you like the test train too, that took me a good couple of months to complete over the winter and is probably one of my favourite trains that I run and those 73s are definite favourite locos of mine. Glad you liked the 20s with the 37 at the end too, I’m currently working on a few barrier coaches for them to run with which will hopefully be finished soon. Thanks very much for watching and commenting, it’s greatly appreciated 👍
Greetings to the Patio Railway on Tour 🌞 Those Europheonix 37's glistening in the sunshine 🌞 😫 pure temptation 😍 Love that the lineside worker remains so still during the final scene 🤔 just like his model railway counterpart 😲🤣🤣🤣🤣 Very best wishes from the Garden of Ireland ☘️
Thanks very much! Glad you liked the video. Thought you’d like those europheonix 37s. All being well the next video should feature my one if I can get it edited in time 😉 I do quite like that end shot too, something I rarely seem to capture but one that paints a scene well. Thanks very much for watching and commenting as always 👍
Can’t believe you got 901 again!!!! Well jealous 👍 Basically you get to see all the workings that I don’t 😀 Lovely winding up of the shed at the end too👍 Awesome collection TJ👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👋
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video, I always am never sure if these second videos are interesting enough to make these days, so I’m glad to hear such positive feedback. Yes, I was lucky to catch it coming and going so threw the arriving clip in this video so spice up the variety a tad. Hopefully there should be more model railway running next week, I’m currently editing a modern image one with a few locos I’ve been working on weathering/detailing recently. Thanks very much as always for watching and commenting, really do appreciate your kind feedback 👍

Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for watching and commenting! 👍
Some beautiful stock on display in the sunshine TJ, my favourite might be the green class 33? (Although you went straight for the kill with the sector 37!). These videos should be on the NHS, to lower everyone’s blood pressure 😀 Andy Peters and Towbridge Junction on a Friday, happy days👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍👍👍
Thanks very much! That’s very kind! Glad you liked the 33. It certainly was overdue another appearance in one of these running sessions, I really don’t run it as often as I should. Glad you liked the 37 at the start too, that’s one of the firm favourites of mine and a loco I’ve had for many years now. Very happy to hear you find these videos relaxing, I certainly do enjoy making them! I’d somehow never heard of Andy Peters’ channel before, but having had a look it seems right up my street. I’ve subscribed and look forward to watching more in the future. Many thanks for watching and commenting, and the very kind words too. It’s much appreciated! 👍
@@Towbridgejunction very welcome 😀👍

A great selection of diesels. Especially happy to see the 50 Earning its keep with the Pullman coaches 👍great that these old diesels are still going strong 💪 ⭐️👍cheers for sharing .
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I was very lucky to catch 2 50s at Woking in a month, great to see! Certainly seeing a 33 bouncing over the pointwork and an NSE 50 at Woking reminded me of the 80s/90s. Hopefully they’ll continue soldiering on for many years to come. Thanks for watching and commenting as always, hopefully some more outdoor running will feature at the end of this week 👍
