These companies, like any other business, have to make a profit. They aren't simply providing a lead service for nothing. In some ways it's like a contractor billing out at $100/hour for every guy, even on workers being paid $15/hour. It isn't pure profit, like the contractor I imagine Task Rabbit has some overhead expenses, even though you aren't an "employee". Some lead generating companies want a % of the job cost, others might charge a monthly fee and/or lead fee on every accepted job. I'm actually impressed with the hourly you can charge on task rabbit. That's on par with some journey level skilled trades workers. I might have to take another look into Task Rabbit out here.

Have you mentioned about how long did it take you to get orders coming to you once your cargo van was initially ready for taking deliveries? Because you probably did not sign up with some gig apps until your cargo van was ready to go. And i ask because if i get a a cargo van with insurance and all but the gig apps are not working for me, then maybe i will be spinning my wheels for a good while. thanks!

Roadie in Lexington KY is ridiculous. $50 for a 90 minute drive or 57 miles. One needs to drive back 90 minutes, so 120 miles total is 50 cents a mile, and 3 hours is less than $20 an hour. I drive Uber and Lyft in Lexington averaging $22 an hour and usually at least a @/mile. so not going to stop driving rideshare for less money and less $$ per mile. i do notice that desperate people keep taking these orders. For example, taking lost luggage from airport 50 miles for $36 or $7 to take a prescription from cvs 43 minutes. I have yet to submit a roadie offer in my area due to these low ball offers. I am so dissappointed because thought would be much better.

Too many people are doing these delivery gigs.everyone accepts the low payout and they will continue to lower it no different than the trucking business.im glad i got out of my trucking business when i did.

We all know you not taking any order that's not worth it. So you saying that 8 toilet order is criminal and then taking it is crazy to me. Only went 2 miles. probably took you less than 3 minutes to unload that. Everything delivery can't be easy. Be blessed you do what you do cause if you ever have to get a normal job again I don't think you'd make it lol. You done got TOO COMFORTABLE. Better hope these gig apps stay around for ever.

I did 4 toilets today for $47 short miles only had to lift in and out of van. But it should have paid at least $80.

Yeah I hate that when the catering orders get split and u have plenty of room yourself. Dude that told u that story where other driver came late and he had to unload some to give him. that sucked and has happened to me..FRUSTRATING. U can complain to the delivery partner but it wont get u any extra pay has been my experience...

Did gigs today, all Roadie. First gig was $18 for a 10 bags of river/pond rock. Same customer has been ordering same thing the last few days. I believe the same gigs paid maybe double that previously. Roadie is really testing my patience.

Hey pat we're all making theses kind of low paying deliveries acceptable for then to offer us the using our own greed against each other there evil and smart your roadie fees are approaching or offers here in Los Angeles I have done entire pallets of mulch for 27.00 possibly 40 to 50 bags I'm always amazed you have orders for 45 to 50.00 a delivery there's pretty much 0 deliveries for that mulch 30 to 35.00 for all deliveries out here and were still upset we didn't get them we need to put these greedy people on blast we need to all get together we can make them pay more but we won't God bless have a good week
