This was a groundbreaking series when it ran on American TV on PBS. "Masterpiece Theater" (from WGBH Boston) aired all of its episodes. The series passed a major milestone in recent years, but it went largely unobserved by mainstream media. A shame, really. It was a series way ahead of its time.

This was my first time seeing this documentary. Thank you for uploading this. It seem rare and remarkable. I can only imagine what black people was going through during the Jim Crow era. I would've been scared to leave my house. This is the best documentary about Dr King up to date

What's the old saying, "every revolution devours its own." How sad for the Pethick-Lawrences. Both went on to greater things, he being elected to Parliament and later serving in the Cabinet. The Pankhurst's "the end justifies the means" shows how they themselves adopted the ways their "enemies" and being expedient for the cause. The Pankhursts expelled Sylvia two years later and the party folded in 1917. Isn't it ironic after all these expulsions it still took the movement another 16 years to get the full voting rights they wanted? Maybe if they were allowed to stay it would have been accomplished in a better and more timely way.
