We released a big free update for BEAM in May with new features and presets, and we will continue to offer free updates. However, Time is an entirely new plugin within BEAM, and took many months to develop with a large team of programmers and sound designers. Time also includes a large set of new presets, so we feel this pricing is very fair. We try to keep our pricing affordable and also offer substantial loyalty discounts to users who have already purchased other BEAM products. We hope that makes sense!

You know the problem with "free" upgrades is that there often won't be any new features at all and the plugins don't evolve. Most devs choose to release new plugins rather than upgrading or do versions that are paid upgrades aswell. I think this expansion model is good and i am willing to pay for new features that add value.

​@@yove2934 If they'd have been clear about this at the outset, I actually wouldn't have minded and would probably have purchased this. My only disappointment comes from the way they went about this. It definitely wasn't clear on the product page nor on the sponsored content influencer videos.

​@@lunacyaudio On the Beam product page at launch (see Internet Archive) and even still today it just says 'expanding ecosystem - new nodes coming' (no mention of users needing to pay again). ruclips.net/video/NAYsVIJ3Z-o/видео.html is your paid-influencer launch video which explains new nodes coming (no mention of users needing to pay again). Can you link to where you explained the nodes would be charged for? Maybe it was on a blog post or something? I cannot find that now even while actively searching for it. The messaging I understood was effectively 'yes it's sparse to start with, but buy now and we'll keep adding to it'.

Agreed, they can keep this DLC. Just a matter of TIME before they have enough DLC to provide a subscription service.

The wet vocal may sound jarring because they are likely intending to mix it with the dry to get a lighter effect.
