Fencing can be an emotive topic in rewilding. Such places should be as porous for wildlife as possible, free from barriers hindering wildlife movements. Here, I look at a special case where a grazing-dependent habitat - a chalk grassland SSSI - sits within a wider site to be subject to rewilding. Here, targeted and therefor to some extent controlled grazing is needed. Hi Steve. You didn't explicitly say in this video but I would think that in order for the scrub to start to establish in the arable you would want to give it a few years before introducing the grazing animals.

Same here with the woodpeckers. They WERE hammering away until recently - now I think they will be sitting on eggs. yesterday I witnessed a huge flock of starling feeding their young in the trees lining the canal. I grabbed this great picture of one with a caterpillar sideways on. Then he flew slightly to the right and stood there with it looking at me. Picture quality doesn't seem as good as before - looks blurry at beginning and middle of this video. Ok towards end. Watching normal size on laptop.
