Just a short introduction and initial thoughts on my new Kubota LX2610.
How did you hook up the generator in the back. Did you install an rv power cable?
@@danielking4983 no, just a standard extension cord that was run into the truck by just closing the back door on the cord itself.
Love the setup! Any issues when you removed the front seat? I was going to do mine but heard the airbag light might trigger and stay on....
Great video! What do you do to stay cool in the summer months?
@@DrSamBeckett I use a window mounted 5000btu air conditioner that I modified to blow the cool air through a sewer hose into the rear sliding glass window
Very informative and helpful on thoughts about starting up
So iv been seeing in the comments a central dispatch, how does that work and who is that through? Im just getting into the research of hotshot and thought you could either self dispatch from load boards or lease through a company and that was it
Hey ROAN! Truckstop load board, here! We have a partnership proposal for you! Mind sending us a good contact email for us to follow up with? 😀
Hey friend! Following up on this!
Or that's the fee for the 3rd party app
Damn you have to pay for truck stops
How to contact you.?
Thank you this was 100% helpful

How much money do you make doing hot shot driving
Do you have an instagram account?
Hey I’m looking at getting into hotshot I have a f350 srw. I wanted to know what gvwr trailer I should get if I have a cdl? Should it be one where I could carry 3k under my towing capacity of my truck?
Beautiful Truck brother
Mr. Roan can you do a video for a start up cost (HOTSHOT)from getting your Authority, MC, Equipments( Tarps, Chains, Electronics etc..) Thank you very much Mr. Roan. I truly love your F450 set-up inside and outside. And also how much funds do you have to have until your able to start making money in Hotshot industry ? GBU and keep it up great job.
I have one question I can see that with hotshot you can make easily 1000$ daily driving 500-600miles per day Why peoppe running to boxtrucks ? Why not hotshots ? Easy to maintain and other stuff aswell like park amywhere sleep in motels driving around usa making shitt load of money Or am i missing smthing here ? Genuinely asking
Tem um casal de brasileiros qui então nesse ramo eles tem um cansl no RUclips ESTAMOS OFF LINE
I would say that's pretty nice having a bed in there. I'm sure that saves you a lot of money.
TruckStop does next day pay right?
Not sure how or if Truckstop does factoring or not but I use McDowell Factor and Capital Service and they are great to work with.
Are you a cdL
Yes, class A
What a/c unit do you use with the Honda generator?
It’s a 5k btu window unit. I bought it at Walmart for $125
How’s your mpg with a heavy load?
Between 8.5 & 10 mpg with a heavy load.
@@roantransportllc what is your average speed on highways?
Nice set up!
I’m a truck driver with a cdl but I’m looking for a better job how can I find a hotshot load job
I am leasing on owner operators both hotshot and semi. roantransportllc@gmail.com for more info.
What is the app you use on your mobile phone?
The Truckstop.com app
I have a 1500 hemi and 16ft trailer is there jobs for this set up ??
Maybe single car hauling. I have not seen any other HS with this kind of set up.
U-ship

I have a 22 350 dually with 4.10 rear end. If you are getting a very hard downshift in tow haul from 3-2 or 2-1 take it in and tell them you are having a hard down shift in tow haul specifically. There is a TSB to reprogram the transmission control module, made my truck shift so much better. TSB came out in June or July of 22 but most don’t know about it because they just know “oh it’s a hard shift it’s learning” you have to specifically tell them it’s in tow haul mode. Also watch for a oil leak showing up right above the oil filter where the engine meets the trans. 33k and mine is in for what they are pretty sure is upper oil pan leaking and I don’t have any excessive crank case pressure at all. I checked that already but watched the shop foreman literally have to pull my oil cap off. Hopefully hear what they found today or tomorrow.
Good video
You are basically driving for free now bro Remember also those rate estimates on truck stop are beat down rates from the time of yr , recession etc , I promise you the broker is making at least as much as you are , moving it for at those rates Cheap freight !!
Nice set up would never hate on that but you bought very expensive stuff that little cooler I looked it up it’s $1000 by itself and then the generator I know you said you bought that after you got up and running so it’s not like you were rich to begin with But you have way too much crap on that truck just to go pick up small hotshot loads I’m a semi truck driver and I don’t even have half of that crap and I’ve been doing it for 15 years, so are you guys just like to waste money on useless gadgets in the name of comfort or convenience but it’s just more crap to maintain and fix and worry about in the long run
Thanks for the comment.
What do you do for cooling in the summer?
I use a 5k btu window AC unit that I modified. I will do a video on it as soon as the weather warms up.
For the garmin gps can I use it for non cdl or hotshot because near future I want to be on the road a lot because for my future car collection I’m planning for long road trips to car meets and such And I want to do it Legal way so later on I don’t have to deal with dot officers and yes this will not for hire it just for my private car collection, I also don’t want to end up wrong spots with a long car trailer so ya.
I use the Garmin - dezl OTR700 and it has options for both auto and truck routes. In the truck setting you can customize your vehicle length, height and weight to avoid low bridges and other potential hazards. In the auto setting it works as a regular gps for navigation.
@@roantransportllc ok thank you for information.
Good video you were direct and kept things simple to understand and I think that’s what most of any buddy out there is going to want to have for information something that’s not too confusing or too much to take on in one video.
Great video, glad to hear the Ford makes a good truck, looking at Ford when I replaced my Duramax. I have a 2008 Duramax, I put a 60-gallon auxiliary fuel tank in my box. It is gravity fed and tends to be slow, what fuel pump and solenoid did you install in yours? I am looking at installing a pump and solenoid.

The monster ramps are plenty strong. I hauled dozers with My 40 ft pj and an f550. They're kinda heavy but not too bad and when laid down keeps your deck flat to 40ft. I had air ride and electric over hydraulic disc brakes. Pj makes a great trailer. Nice setup!
Hey buddy nice video. Can you send me a link or info on that Kubota coupler cover? I was told Kubota don’t make one? Thank you :))

Can someone help me please ! - I have questions ?? - I want to get into this 1 - how do I get into this ? 2- what Pick up ? 3 - what licenses or clearance do i need to start doing this ? 4- yes money is kind of an issue ? 5- how much can you expect to make ( Starting ) roughly / week ? 6- is it worth it ? ( veterans in the game please comment ) ? 7- if you could go back in time what you wish you knew going into it ?
1. Search out carriers that will lease-on an owner operator or get you own authority. 2. Ford F350 or Ram 3500 3. Class A CDL if you want to haul over 26k lbs gcvwr, or a regular drivers license if you go non-CDL meaning under 26k gcvwr. 4.? 5. Hard to say many variables affect this but between $2000 to 10,000 a week. 6. 2023 would not be the year I payed out a bunch of cash or incurred heavy debt. 7. I wish I would have started with my CDL and own authority.
What where the 2 antennas for in the back of the truck, I’m assuming wifi and cb? If so what type of cb and wifi
The one on the right is a cell phone booster and the other is a HAM radio antenna.
Almost no one uses CB anymore. I can drive all day with CB on and only talk I hear is guys running together. This is why you have pileups on the interstates, because no one can get info out when people aren’t listening.
Also, Minneapolis (and MN) is not a bad area at all. We're based here, and I find MN to be one of the better areas for Flatbed capacity and rates. Yes, the winter can be a bear at times. Still, overall the relatively close proximity to Chicago allows for some regularity if I wanted to get the driver home for weekends. East Coast is better, but with the tolls, road weight capacity issues, low bridges, etc, it becomes not all that much better, IMO. Love the videos, btw. We've been at this for about 6mo (although the driver is 20+ yr CDL), and we're enjoying it despite the soft market right now. I know seasonally, this is the worst time, but I am not sure we're going to see a significant rebound in rates going into Spring. Keep up the great work!
Agree on staying away from West Coast. Also try to stay away from CO, MT, WY, ND and SD as well.
Me on the west coast lol 😆
Why these five states. Just curious I live in Colorado and from what I've seen on the load boards the brokers and all have gone nuts no way they shipping for less than a buck a mile all bs and scams. I can't believe the crap u guys put up with I never did when I owned my own fleet but now it's even worse.
I have to agree the whole internet thing is to scam all of us out of all our money and our assets. If they can. It's obsurd they want us all to travel 500 2000 miles loaded for less than 62. Cents a mile can't be done and make any profits. It's a big time scam and if someone will do it they'll take advantage. Example I wanted to ship composite straight lumber 42 miles from Denver to strausburg. 38 foot long boards. 18000 pounds they quoted me 1200. Dollars. Which is 28. Bucks a mile and four others qouted same or more. One was lower at 1183. But talk about scams hell I can buy my own trailer for that much to ship it. It's insane I can acàully rent a truck and trailer for less than it cost to ship it. You guys are getting screwed. And then the maintanance on your trucks weather it's a pickup or a tractor no way guys. Don't take a load for no less than 3.00 amile and that's cheap
I live in Colorado, just curious why you say to stay away
Truckstop is the best. We've used DAT, 123, Loadsmart, CH Robinson, JB Hunt, etc. I haven't found any that compare to Truckstop. On occasion if we aren't able to find anything in an area we'll haul vehicles from Central Dispatch, but that's about it. I am amazed at how bad DAT is, for us being based in Minneapolis anyway.
I am seeing more vehicles listed on Truckstop now. Too me there is no money in hauling cars, but equipment ie: F550 and alike I do from time to time.
I am relatively new, but from what we have down here in the south it seems cars can be a decent buck if you can haul a few at a time somewhat locally. (200 miles max) But, I would say that vehicles should be a last resort when no loads are available in the area you are delivering in or coming back to.@@roantransportllc
Great setup. We have a 2020 F-450 Chassis Cab with a 5th wheel and shocker hitch. We have a 40' 30k Gatormade with air ride and a hydratail ramp. I wish we had the spread axle like you do. The reserve fuel tank is a great addition! Probably our single biggest gripe is how small the Ford fuel tank is.. We've got about 135k on our truck (bought it at 70k) and have had some issues... Stuff like 4WD drive issues, Def Tank heater going bad, transmission shifting issue, etc. Not gonna lie, kind of annoyed at the nickle and diming this truck is doing to us, but overall I think we'd have more issues with other trucks. We're actually thinking about going to a 2008 - 2010 Freightliner M2 Sportchassis in the near future. We were looking for a '21 or '22 F-450, but not really available. Amazed that you were able to find one.
I ordered my F450 in Sept of 2021 and it arrived in May of 2022. I am not hearing good things about the availability of the 2023 Superdutys.
@@roantransportllc same. two local dealerships I work with tell me they are getting anywhere from 15-25 for the year. Compared this to the 200-250 they normally are allocated, and it's become apparent there's no end in sight for Ford changing course. It's likely done so that they can command higher prices.
How many corners do you really believe ur cutting that is either unsafe , over budget and illegal?
None!
I it still profitable these days if I was just starting?
It can be profitable if you are willing keep your overhead expenses low.
You have a nice setup. Not overdone. I just subscribed.
I drive semi always thought about doing hotshot
nice vid, i been using the same fridge freezer for the past 2 years but i keep it in the back of the truck, its been a great product. I'm now installing a house mini split in the truck and have 600 amp hours of lithium to run it and a 40 amp dc to dc charger to charge the batts up when the truck is running. i also have a genni for if I'm siting more then a day. what's you average mpg with that truck under load. I'm doing my cdl this year or next and am thinking about going f450. my set up is identical to yours but I'm running fords 7.3 gas engine with 373 gearing doing non cdl
