Quilting My Dream Patchwork Hoodie - Sewing Vlog
Hello! I first started this quilted hoodie in August, and now in November I finally finished! This hoodie is everything I could have hoped for and I can’t wait to wear it during the winter months. This was a great scrap busting project and I even had to dip into some of my fat quarters to make this project work. I love looking through the patchwork and picking out fabric from a previous project.

Hello! This was my first year entering in the open class at my local county fair! I was inspired by some other creators online and decided to dive right in. I used to enter in the fair under 4H and it was interesting seeing the differences between the two worlds. -Ren My TikTok: www.tiktok.com/@sunflower.sewing?_t=8nh6wHpQYBi&_r=1 My Pinterest: pin.it/3ouOylK66 My Instagram: sunfl...

Such a cute garment!
I love these designs where can I find them?

Your hoodie is adorable! Hidden pockets in the side seams would work nicely and should be easy to add. I’ve had both a quilted hoodie and a quilted jacket on my to-do list for over a year. Hopefully, I can get time to make at least one this winter. Tip: There are several effective-less expensive-versions of basting sprays, including one I tried-and like-by Chatterbox Quilts. Goggle for more/similar versions. Thank you, and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
I Love IT soooo much.
It turned out beautiful! Please don’t put music in the background. It was hard to hear you. It just turned out gorgeous ❤
Thank you. I enjoyed your video. I hope in the future to create something beautiful. 😊
super joli mais un peu plus long, ça aurait été encore mieux ! Bravo !!!!!!
Well Done !! Great job problem solving. So sad that the pattern is not there anymore 😢..... I don't really like quilted clothing....maybe because I used to be really fat and never wanted to add to my bulk.... I have lost lots of weight and now I think I would consider a jacket like this hoodie. I I'm totally into scrap quilting. I definitely would need pockets and I think I would put internal pockets on the side and I would need more lengths.... I'm still self-conscious of my hips and tummy even though I'm around the 150 lb mark. Thank you so much for all the work that you did. Having done some crumb quilting I knew that it was going to take you longer than you thought. But I do find crumb quilting or patch piecing therapeutic and relaxing.... Sometimes I just spend time sewing my scraps together from quilts without a plan... And then later on do something with the fabric that I've created from scraps..... But I definitely am interested in making some sort of a jacket... Something was really funky buttons down the front because I'm not a pullover the head kind of person. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!❤👍

Great job on the hoodie.
The hoodie is so cute on you. You are talented.
should i block a blanket? i’m new to crocheting and i wanna make sure the blanket i’m making for my mom lays flat. rn there’s no curling since the yarn i’m using is pretty heavy but as it gets longer i don’t want that to happen
It turned out adorable.
Your annoying music is so loud I can’t hear you other wise wonderful job. And y😢are adorable
Yes, unfortunately loud music alienates older/hearing impaired quilters, of which, unsurprisingly, there are many. We would rather hear you than the chintzy music because, otherwise, your videos are freaking amazing, like this one!
when you press acrylic with an iron its actually called murdering the acrylic because your melting the fibers together and flattening the yarn. It can still give a great effect for tapestries and bookmarks but I wouldn't recommend doing it for clothes. For clothes, I would steam block it by holding the iron above it and pushing hot steam onto the piece without touching it or using a steamer to avoid melting the acrylic.
Great job,
Is there any tutorial step by step please ?
Turned out awesome ! 🥰
No puedo creer que se pueda hacer con un círculo!!! Parece fácil , voy a intentarlo. Maravilloso 👏👏👏
Very cute! Good job!
So worth it.
So cute!
Beautiful work. I just wouldn't use acrylic at all. It doesn't last. Eventhoug it's cheaper, it's not worth the cost savings if I'm going to invest 100 hours in something, because acrylic gets fuzzy, shapeless, and doesn't hold up like natural fibers or even other synthetics.
Steam your acrylic yarns in a colander within a boiling pot of water, with the water barely touching the bottom of the colander. This creates good steam and takes 1 minute max at rolling boil. Refill the pot as needed when water evaporates
Beautiful work.. loved the process... ❤
Love your pants
You might figure out your lining pieces, then make fabric of pieces to fit each pattern piece. I frequently use an old sweatshirt deconstructed for my back, which is warmer. Just fit the sweatshirt first, then sew your patches on to that. You actually quilting as you go. Good luck❤
That’s what I’d do too.
Oh good idea! I’ll have to try that
@@sunflower.sewing it's a win..win situation as I use the sweatshirts that have gotten a bit tired looking but are perfect for backing .
Amazing ❤
Absolutely beautiful! The colors remind me of the 70s quilts ❤
Both are beautiful 😍 you're incredibly talented at that ❤.
I love it. I want to make it, but definitely make the body longer.
Body is a bit too short
This is beautiful, and well done for persevering! 😊If you made another one (😮), you could roughly draw around the pattern on the lining fabric and maybe add an extra inch or so around and then make your patchwork panels to fit the almost exact size they need to be 🤔. This would save you loads of time and you would have less waste at the end. It’s just a suggestion, you did great ❤
Good idea, I did end up making a couple makeup bags out of my scraps though!
love your hoodie. it Turn out Turned out adorable. Your hard work paid offadorable!💕💕
Super cute...you did a great job!
Great job! I love making my hexies like this!
Love your hoodie project and your SLP Shirt! We know about cold buildings and closet work spaces. I'm retired now with tons of scraps so I will making my own. Thanks for the inspiration.
Right now I’m at two schools and at one of them I borrow the associate principles office when he’s in meetings 😂 You gotta do therapy where and when you can
This is epic!! I don’t know why I find tapestry Works so hard when it’s so simple!!
Does anyone know the song in the background???
Omg. I love this so much! Great work and great perseverance. I love the patchwork bias tape to finish the outside edges.
Thank you! I’m so glad you like it 😊
All u need to do is use a magnet to find the broken needle tip
Wait this is a genius idea
Your wearing the same top..
I knit them a year apart but filmed this on the same day!
<3
cheers! it hasn't been working for me this way either. now i know. thanx
Wasting a lot of fabric. Will be a lot of folded fabric when you’re quilting it plus the batting and backing.
What even is this? How are these made? Those are soooo cool!!!!
You did a fantastic job.
Thank you!
This turned out so cute I love the colors
Thank you so much!!
I love this so much!
love the hoodie and the problem solving!
